On Dec 13th a vendor mistakenly shipped a package to me with my old address.I caught it with the tracking number and both the vendor and myself tried to stop redirect or have the package held and a ups outlet.

I was finally told that they could only fix the problem after the package had been delivered to the wrong address. I called 3x's after package was delivered to a perfect stranger and was finally told they couldn't help. Aparently they were stalling untill package was delivered so they could wash thier hands of it. The party that recieved the PACKAGE called UPS to pick it up because it said perishable.

UPS told the party to "enjoy the contents" since they would not be picking it up.

My realtor finally got me the package since she had both parties numbers. In short if UPS screws up they give your package to complete strangers!!!

Had an Experience with Ups?

Let's start with the late airplane because of...oh let's just say snow.So the driver is already behind on it's "average" 130 delieveries (which don't include the 25 pick-ups and 90 miles in the city he has to drive).

Consider 1 delivery does not equal just 1 package. Ammo boxes, school books going out in August, anything up to 150#. Some del or pick-ups are 20-50 packages and I'm not talking envelops either. And lets remember the driver is docked 30 min for lunch if he uses it or not.

So driving 90 mile round trip in city traffic, stopping for 130 deliveries and 20 pick-ups. Answering *** questions like "what's in the box?" How the f86k should he know? Just sign for the package because someone else wants to b#cth about something else down the road. Don't forget to add in the fact he has to be back to the hub so the 200+ packages he picked up can be sorted and scanned.

Then the airpackages have to go back to the airport which will probablly shut down again.

BE sure and thank your neighbor who thins 2" black letters under the eave of the house is recognizable from the street in the dark at 50'.Oh and the little old lady that throws the door open and lets that little yappin' dog out to *** you ankle...yes ups employees are over paid idiots that really don't give a *** what's in the box or who sent it...just sign for it.

they suck.incompetent.

I live in an apartment complex, and for 3 years, ups delivered to leasign office. They decided not to, this past week, and hung tags on my mailbox in the lobby for 4 days, while i was away, assuming they were still delivering packages to the leasing office. They are idiots.

No amount of calling and talking gets you anywhere except around in circles.i hope everyone who works there loses their livlihood, and has to live in a ditch

I have to agree, UPS lacks customer service where the drivers are concerned.None of them seem to have time to use doorbells--my driver just leaves InfoNotices, so if you want your package, your only choice is to sit on the front porch in 20 degree weather for the entire day.

I never have any trouble with FEDEX, and DHL used to actually call me! Hmmm.

By the way, what a joke-- you are the joke. And a bad one at that.

No one is asking they call EVERY customer.

All other courier services offer this feature if you request it.

I'm certain 90 per cent of customers, mostly business deliveries, have someone available to accept a package during the Monday to Friday delivery window.

But people who actually work outside their homes probably won't be there when the driver calls.

Saturday delivery is offered, again, if you pay extra.

Limited evening delivery service also is offered.

When I came home from the depot yesterday, again without my package as detailed in the last comment, there was a hang tag on the mailbox in the lobby.

Then, around 7:30 last night, when I was home, a hang tag was left on my unit door.

No one knocked, just left he tag and left.

Again, on Thursday afternoon, a UPS customer abuse person promised the package would be held at the depot for pickup.

I don't appreciate driving 15 miles to get something that had again been placed on a truck for delivery.

This outfit deserves to go out of business based on total incompetence.

"Every other delivery service I use from Ikea to food delivery has cell phone capability." You surely cannot be serious about UPS providing a cell phone so they can call you prior to delivery.UPS is a parcel delivery service, not furniture or appliance delivery service.

Those types of services only make a hand full of stops a day compared to a UPS driver. But let’s play with this a minute, shall we? Let’s say the average UPS driver in the US makes 130 stops a day, which is very realistic. And let’s say they spend an average of two minutes per call trying to make arrangements to deliver your package.

Hmmmm, if my math is right, that is 260 minutes a day spent on the phone trying to arrange a good delivery time for you. To break that down a little further, that is 4.3 hours of his day spent on the phone. Do you really expect the driver to spend one third of his day on the phone talking to morons like you? You are probably stuck on the one third comment.

The average driver will work 10-11 hours a day trying to get all of his stops off.And I assure you, that does not allow for 4.3 hours of his day on the phone.

People like you a make everyone’s life so much more complicated.

Another day, same old brown s***.

After instructing the customer abuse person during a 30 minute phone call to hold the parcel for pickup at the depot and seeing this confirmed on my tracking page, the duffus at the depot put the package on the truck for another delivery attempt which was made while I was at the depot attempting to get my package.

This time, the delivery person made it into the lobby somehow and hung a tag on my mailbox but didn't bother to take the elevator to the second floor to knock on the door and deliver the package to my partner.

Seeing as you can't pick up parcels at the depot on the weekend, I have to repeat the entire process again on Monday.

This company sucks a big brown one.

Addition to my previous comment.

I asked to be called on my cell when the driver is approaching my address so I can meet him at the door.

(I live in a condo complex)

UPS says it doesn't provide it's drivers with cell phones!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every other delivery service I use from Ikea to food delivery has cell phone capability.

Why not UPS?

This is the most incompetent of any courier or postal service I've ever had the misfortune to use.

Every time something is shipped UPS, it never is delivered to my address.

After several frustrating events with this company, I am advising anyone from whom I buy or order something to use USPS instead.

I'm in Canada.

Every time someone in the US ships me something by UPS, I'm dinged for customs and brokerage fees and taxes, in addition to the shipping cost.

If a parcel comes through USPS to Canada Post, there are no fees, taxes, duties, brokerage charges, rip me off just for fun charges or any of that nonsense.

Latest example.

A 39 dollar US made item.

Shipping charge by UPS, only option offered, 17 dollars.

UPS wants an additional $27 dollars to turn my package over to me.

If the item had been shipped USPS, there would be no additional charges.

UPS is a ripoff organization, staffed by rude and unhelpful people.

I am advising anyone I prospectively deal with for ecommerce that I will not be patronizing them unless they will ship USPS.

Brown is the right colour for this organization.

It's the same colour as ***!

"UPS told the party to "enjoy the contents" since they would not be picking it up."

No UPS operator would ever say that.
