This is a con business, charging exorbitant brokerage fees when crossing the border. A service you never asked for nor authorized in the first place.

The only time they inform you is weeks later when the bill comes through the mail.

I agree I need to pay my taxes and import duties, I even agree that they can offer such a service at whatever price if they want.

But this is morally wrong (and I would hope illegal too) to force the sale of a service without contract or prior agreement.

I guess that's why only companies such as UPS have these practices... Because others know this is wrong, dubious, and only a way to take advantage of the consumers for a few more bucks from their pockets.
