We got in contact with some of the corporate managers which were very helpful and sympathetic to our case. They cleared everything up, got our packages delivered quickly, and compensated us for the time and frustration we went through trying to getbthis matter resolved.

I got my products back. It so happens UPS never did call the FAA, I called them and made them aware.

They inspected by photos sent in emails and determined by boxes were not labeled for air shipment, I did label them for ground so they said they had nothing to do with it. It still took 2 days to actually get my boxes because of UPS paperwork but I did just last night.

I ordered an expensive mattress for my back which was supposed to be delivered by UPS today. I signed up for email alerts in case something happened to where the package wouldn't be delivered but I heard nothing. I went to tracking information this morning to find out what time it would be delivered and there was some garbage about a mechanical issue and they could not give the delivery date or time and it would be rescheduled. I got on a chat with their customer service who basically read me exactly what the tracking information said. I told her I already knew that but I wanted to know when my package would be delivered. Her response was rest assured it'll be delivered when it arrives and gets sorted. I again told her I wanted to know when this mattress would be delivered. She couldn't tell me didn't know and didn't really care. I sent in an email complaint to UPS and a few hours later received an updated delivery date of Monday. Yesterday it was in Jacksonville Florida so it wasn't that far from my residence. I will never again purchase anything if UPS has to deliver it and I will definitely check before I order to make sure. UPS is a terrible company to do business with.

First off, I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with shipping your package. Here's a few things to keep in mind before pinning this unfortunate incident on UPS.

No UPS centers are open to the public on Saturdays, so if the person who sent you the package did so on a Saturday, they did not do it through UPS directly. They probably did it through a third-party company who offers UPS services, who then took down the shipping address incorrectly and shipped it. When a wrong address is entered into the UPS system, they will often still try to deliver it to a corrected address, which is probably what happened on Thursday.

Next, when you changed the address on Friday, they trucks were already routed and loaded for the day, so the change would take effect on the next business day, which is Monday.

Your package was probably removed from the truck and/or put on hold as soon as your address change was received, but it's not as simple as just sending out a driver to deliver it. All the trucks leave the center at around 9 AM, at the latest, and don't come back until they have finished their routes, which is sometimes as late as 10 PM, depending on the season and the workload.
