the following item - which is a oriental rug weighing 147 Pounds and shipped from Austin to Los Angeles has conveniently for UPS - VANISHED in thin air
Please check to see the item was scanned and shipped on June 29th , Scanned as delivered Los Angeles - and Scanned or shall I say "scammed" out for deliver on the truck on July 5th!
this was to deliver to Mail and More CA - a friend and operator - who send a d receives hundreds of packages on my behalf annually
after noticing the delay on Monday the 9th - I immediately contacted "Ron" at mail and more inc. , and he informed me the package has not delivered and that the regular UPS driver that services the route is on vacation -
and that he will question the substitute driver
assuring me that it is a simple mistake and it will be found shortly,
its not that easy to lose a package that weight 147 pounds an occupies 36 Cubic feet of space while traveling between your UPS center on Blaine Street in Down Town L.A. and the Westwood Mail and More Inc. - which is less then 10 miles away! or is it?
Upon Hearing this I rushed over to the UPS center on Blaine street and begged and convinced an agent to help find the package - "Willy" after he copied me on what he found the computer tracking system.
he asked me what the package looks like - I explained a huge bundle 72 x 24 x 24" wrapped in plastic - and he quickly and kindly went into a physical search mode, and after about 10 minutes came back to say that he could not find it and perhaps it went to "overgoods" or re wrap and to contact Loss prevention - providing two local number - "213-612-1700 and 213-612-1735"
Sadly I left with a glimmer of hope that it will be found soon and must be an honest mistake or perhaps the label came lose. ?
I called those number 50 times with no response - so I called a different number in the chain of the ups number or extension - iwas told its the wrong department but they would connect me with the right dept. and that she was a supervisor
I was connected with "John" on the floor at the UPS Blaine Center - where the rug should be and after explaining the situation, he said he would go look for it again , and call me back.
In a fem minutes he called back and said - he could not find it in the center and that it could not be on the truck where it was last scanned on July 5th - "out for delivery"
Upon discussing it with counsel - who advised me to file a police report and to escalate the case
- I said to myself let me try once more to try to speak to some one of authority - which is and continues to be nearly impossible!
when I did I was assured by a supervisor that UPS is on it and investigating so I said lets give it another day or two
Finally Friday morning the 13th I called the 800 number and to my surprise and sadness - the case and investigation has been closed.
I quickly contacted Ron at mail and More Inc - and he told me not to worry and that he will open the case again.
With what has transpired over the past 10 days and the cover ups and what seems to be the out of reach nature of UPS higher ups - who make the decisions - this is a clear case of theft or gross negligence on behalf of UPS with UPS complicit in the cloudy and vague handing -
You are leaving me no choice - but to file a police report - and sue UPS for gross negligence - and punitive damages - not to mention causing emotion distress on a customer.

The Rug stolen or misplace rug is a Persian Tabriz which is 13 x 19 feet long -Finely hand knotted - which was purchased for $35000 in the late 1970's
