We have had trouble with UPS since we've moved over two years ago into our new place. First we had a delivery that was left in our ditch under the snow, when it was supposedly left on our front porch after we called to notify UPS that it was never delivered.

This time we had four packages supposedly delivered on the same day and time but tracking says it was left at: Other - released. Again we were home the entire day and UPS never delivered those packages.

Customer service showed they were left on the front porch, which is also a lie. My husband is getting nowhere with customer service giving him the run around.

As a long time manager of a large shipping and receiving department for a major manufacturer, please allow me to relate : only two shipping companies ever attained "Do Not Use" status with us.

One was REA, Railway Express Agency , which most of you will not remember.

It was so poor that we had "Not REA" printed on our P.O. forms.

The other gradually became UPS.

For many reasons that I will not expound upon here, service became worse and worse as costs increased. When UPS had its famous strike of 1997, they were replaced completely and not missed.

As a residential customer years later, they toss packages in the yard or leave them by the garage door.

But just to be fair and balanced, they did put a package in a plastic bag once before leaving it outside in the rain without ringing the bell or anything.
