I packaged and shipped a microwave to a seller on eBay. A few days later the microwave shows back up on my porch.

It has been completely trashed. It looked as if it fell out of a two-story window. The package was damaged midway in transit due to damage and returned to me. UPS has already initiated a claim for me and denied it.

The reason they claim was because of inadequate packaging. They said the package should be strong enough to withstand falls. What is the point of insurance then? I do not know.

In addition to refusing to pay the insurance which I purchased, they also charged me double to return the item to me.

So now I am $50 in the hole with UPS fees and I have a useless, damaged item to show for it. The customer service was rude and kept trying to pass me off to different departments until I finally gave up.

UPS is practicing legalized theft. I did not know it was acceptable to fail to render a service yet charge for it!

Monetary Loss: $150.
