My name is Frank Shreenan and I was following the above vehicle north on the Deerfoot Trail in Calgary, Alberta for about 2 miles at approximately 3:30 pm today, August 1st/2014. I was about 4 vehicles behind the UPS vehicle.

Your vehicle was being well driven but whenever the driver accelerated there was a cloud of black smoke which almost obliterated the vehicle immediately behind him.

I am not sure what fuel you ordinarily use but based on this one I would guess coal.

I assume this was a one time mechanical issue but in an attempt to minimize pollution I wanted to bring it to your attention. Thanks.

I am not a "pissed consumer" but in order to submit this I had to agree to your 'terms of service' (which I haven't read) I'm just trying to help but contacting you company has been a challenge.

UPS trucks use diesel.Diesel causes black exhaust.

(Just watch the same exhaust billow out when a semi truck starts moving).

This is not a maintenance issue. This is an issue of using diesel.

I do agree however diesel sucks with regards to the environment and companies should be looking for other solutions.
