i ordered a pontoon boat from sportsmans guide,after it arrived i decided it was not what i wanted.i contacted sportsmans guide and got a return lable sent to my printer.i repackaged the boat (weighed approx 70lbs)attached the lable sent by sp.guide and called for a pickup which was verified by ups.they called the next morning to make sure the package was ready (it was)and said the driver would pick it up.this is a very small town and the driver who picked it up is a friend and i saw him on the day of the scheduled pickup and asked did you get my package off my porch,he stated yes i did.the nightmare drama started at that point,believing all was well i waited for my refund to show up on my cc..after app.2 weeks i called spo.guide for an update and was told they had no record of any pickup at my address and the lable sent was not scanned and so not available for a refund,i was told to call ups to start a track on said package.i did this and spoke with the ups terminal manager who stated there was no record of any pickup at my address.i continued to speak with this manager who put me off for several weeks then passed me off to some type of internal security who assured me he could get to the bottom of this problem and get compensated for my loss.low and behold the next time i tried to contact this so called security expert was told to again contact the terminal manager.the terminal mngr started off by saying he couldnt prove the package had been picked up and maybe i was trying to run some sort of scam.i again spoke with the ups driver who stated again he had picked up the package but stated that due to the high volume of packages from the holiday rush he had done so as a favor for anothere driver who was behind and had failed to scan the package.his fellow driver refuses to talk about the subject,needless to say i lost and im guessing some ups driver will be enjoying my lil boat this summer.hope it sinks.pwj in junction
