Their lazy drivers would rather dump all of the packages from one neighborhood at the nearest Access Point, rather than go door-to-door, and go upstairs in NYC apartment buildings. If they arrive after the Access Point has closed for the day, they simply take every thing back to the depot, to be returned to the senders.
This has happened on numerous occasions. Imagine being at home awaiting your delivery, and receiving an email/text update notifying you that no one was at home when delivery was attempted 10 minutes earlier (when no one rang the doorbell).
Of course, you can collect it from the Access Point. This is pure BS.
