I sent a package from Richmond, VA to Atlanta, GA via Next Day Air on a Friday. It cost $62.62.
The driver didn't leave the package because there was no one at the residence. It is left up to the "driver's discretion" as whether to leave it or not. This was a residence located on a cul de sac in the Buckhead section of Atlanta where home prices range from $500K and up, and he/she didn't feel like it was safe. There was no call or email or text to let the sender know that the package was not delivered.
A notice was left on the door that it would be delivered on Monday. If I had wanted the package to be delivered on Monday, I would not have paid $62. And since it was a Friday, I was told that UPS doesn't deliver on Saturday only to discover there was a UPS truck delivering in that neighborhood on Saturday!
Customer service was NOOOOO help. A letter explaining this horrible process will be mailed to David Abney, CEO on Monday!
