UPS = U PEOPLE SUCK

UPS = U PEOPLE SUCK
I sent a package to my son and his girlfriend to Florida from Ohio. When they received it, the box was in such terrible condition that i dont know how ups stays in business. It looked as if they kicked it around the warehouse for 3 hours. The whole side of the box was ripped open. It also looked as if someone deliberately tore it open to see whats inside. I do know it sat in the warehouse over the weekend which makes me wonder who's keeping an eye on these packages when they are waiting to be delivered. I shipped on tuesday from Ohio, they told me it would be arrive in Florida on friday the 18th and would be delivered on the 21st. If i were UPS i wouldnt have had the guts to deliver the package in that condition. And oh its gets better, they said they dropped off 2 packages to their address that day, one was from me and one was from one of the people who live there, expecting their xmas gift in time for xmas, mine arrived beat up and they other is ummm MISSING. They cant say someone stole it from the porch because it was delivered directly to the homeowner. WTF is up with that. They tracked their package and it said "left on front porch along with mine" and yet there was none. Is someone so desperate in that company that they have to steal someone elses gifts, or could it be they trashed her package too and decided to "just keep it" SHAME ON YOU UPS......WE WILL NEVER USE YOUR SERVICES AGAIN! Wish i could show everyone pics because i think people need to be aware of UPS sorry delivery service!!

That was a used box that was in poor shape to begin with.

Then, you have the nerve to accuse ups of tearing up the box?

1. Why would UPS go out of business because YOUR box was tore up?

2. We don't know when "Tuesday" is, give us a date. 3. Your story does not make sense...how is something "from someone that lives there".

AND finally how was something delivered "directly to homeowner" if it was "left on porch". Your story sounds sketchy.

Based on your facts, I could just as much blame your son for stealing and trying to get money from UPS than I can UPS itself. OH YEAH, why would an employee with free benefits, pension, more vacation days than you will ever see, and and excellent pay waste time STLEALING your sons weak *** xmas gift!!

Unfortunately i dont know what you can do. I tried to email them with no response. What this boils down to is we will all have to buy local things we need in the store and forget about shipping anything :sigh

It's a shame that a company thats been in business this long has a looooong list of complaints. And by the way, this is only a short list of complaints, how bout all the people who don't have the internet or don't know about this site to make a complaint.

I just would like to see UPS do something to get rid of these employees who do these things. I'm not blaming the company for the damage, I'm blaming the employees it went through. Why can't they do some investigating of these complaints and put some cameras in their warehouses and in their trucks, then maybe they will take better care of our stuff :roll

God knows they make a crapload of money, so invest in some cameras, or hire some decent people!!

well said!! i am increasingly frustrated by UPS delivery, my last 6 deliveries are 2-3 days late. The driver didn't make any attempt and will put a fake entry in the tracking system" Recipient no available". My last delivery was " 2 day " and reached me after one week.

Even now when i am writing this comment, waiting for a delivery to happen , but i know it won't happen. Interestingly the system shows delivery happened at some place in IL and i live in CT date of delivery is 12/03.

This could include the front porch, side door, back porch, or garage area. If you have instructed the driver to leave the shipment with a neighbor or leasing office, this would be noted on a yellow UPS InfoNotice left by the driver.

UPS doesn't know the difference between

I ordered something from a 3rd party seller on Amazon. The guy shipped it UPS with signature confirmation which wasn't even mentioned in the ad. But anyway, checked the shipping info online and it said a delivery attempt was made, it's now at their office area. Tried calling to have them put it on hold until Monday when I could ***, I was on hold for about 20 minutes. So I just went up to that office 45 minutes out of my way to pick it up. The woman said they had it in the truck still and the driver wouldn't be back until 8-ish. Okay, so the website lied, I had her put a hold on it to deliver on Monday when I could ***. So I got home and checked the tracking info, it mentioned the hold was placed at 6:43pm. Checked again Saturday, that bit from Thursday was the last update still. So Monday rolls around, I called the UPS office in the morning for an ETA and the woman said it'd be here midday. It never came. I poked my head out every so often to check if maybe they left a slip and I didn't hear a knock, but nothing. Called the office around 5:30 and the woman said the next delivery attempt is the next day, but they didn't even try to deliver it??? Oh but wait it gets better. These two women outright lied to me. I checked the tracking info to see what it said, and it had finally updated again (apparently at least 3-4 days behind) on Thursday about 43 minutes after it mentioned I had asked them to hold it until Monday to deliver, and what did it say? "THE RECEIVER DID NOT WANT THE ORDER AND REFUSED THIS DELIVERY / RETURNED TO SHIPPER", right after it mentioned I had them put it on hold. An hour or so after that, it did it's exit scan to the next facility to go back to it's place of origin that Thursday night! Ahhhh that's fantastic, especially while the office was closed at the time I presumably didn't want to receive it, so there was no earthly way I could've made that request in the first place. I can see them sending it back after the final/3rd attempt, I'd understand that, but not after the first attempt after I asked them to put it on hold til Monday. Of course they're slow on updating that tracking information, so I wouldn't have seen it when I checked it over the weekend. So I called the office again, the woman I was talking to this time was actually pretty sweet and did sound concerned, but she couldn't find an explanation. But the package was already back in its original area. Contacted the seller, awaiting a reply, keeping my fingers crossed he'll refund me the shipping as well, since I never even saw the package and it's not being "returned" to him in the conventional way. I missed work and waited around a whole day for something that was just going back to where it came from 'cause someone messed up in the office and they lied to me about a delivery time.

UPS and You. Keep your hand on your wallet!

UPS shared a warehouse with us in Paulsboro NJ. They were animals! Fights and stabbings were common. Public urination and drunkiness in their parking lot. Finally the landlord evicted them. When they left they damaged the wall seperating our warehouse from theirs. Despite UPS promises to cover the costs, the guard company was stuck with the unpaid bill, which we must now cover. Our company, which is international, has stopped using UPS, based on their lack of integrity, I will personally never use them again and encourage you to do the same. If you must use a shipping company, I would use FedEx.

UPS What brown did to me

On Dec 13th a vendor mistakenly shipped a package to me with my old address. I caught it with the tracking number and both the vendor and myself tried to stop redirect or have the package held and a ups outlet. I was finally told that they could only fix the problem after the package had been delivered to the wrong address. I called 3x's after package was delivered to a perfect stranger and was finally told they couldn't help. Aparently they were stalling untill package was delivered so they could wash thier hands of it. The party that recieved the PACKAGE called UPS to pick it up because it said perishable. UPS told the party to "enjoy the contents" since they would not be picking it up. My realtor finally got me the package since she had both parties numbers. In short if UPS screws up they give your package to complete strangers!!!

Let's start with the late airplane because of...oh let's just say snow. So the driver is already behind on it's "average" 130 delieveries (which don't include the 25 pick-ups and 90 miles in the city he has to drive).

Consider 1 delivery does not equal just 1 package. Ammo boxes, school books going out in August, anything up to 150#. Some del or pick-ups are 20-50 packages and I'm not talking envelops either. And lets remember the driver is docked 30 min for lunch if he uses it or not.

So driving 90 mile round trip in city traffic, stopping for 130 deliveries and 20 pick-ups. Answering *** questions like "what's in the box?" How the f86k should he know? Just sign for the package because someone else wants to b#cth about something else down the road. Don't forget to add in the fact he has to be back to the hub so the 200+ packages he picked up can be sorted and scanned.

Then the airpackages have to go back to the airport which will probablly shut down again.

BE sure and thank your neighbor who thins 2" black letters under the eave of the house is recognizable from the street in the dark at 50'. Oh and the little old lady that throws the door open and lets that little yappin' dog out to *** you ankle...yes ups employees are over paid idiots that really don't give a *** what's in the box or who sent it...just sign for it.

they suck. incompetent.

I live in an apartment complex, and for 3 years, ups delivered to leasign office. They decided not to, this past week, and hung tags on my mailbox in the lobby for 4 days, while i was away, assuming they were still delivering packages to the leasing office. They are idiots.

No amount of calling and talking gets you anywhere except around in circles. i hope everyone who works there loses their livlihood, and has to live in a ditch

I have to agree, UPS lacks customer service where the drivers are concerned. None of them seem to have time to use doorbells--my driver just leaves InfoNotices, so if you want your package, your only choice is to sit on the front porch in 20 degree weather for the entire day.

I never have any trouble with FEDEX, and DHL used to actually call me! Hmmm.

By the way, what a joke-- you are the joke. And a bad one at that.

No one is asking they call EVERY customer.

All other courier services offer this feature if you request it.

I'm certain 90 per cent of customers, mostly business deliveries, have someone available to accept a package during the Monday to Friday delivery window.

But people who actually work outside their homes probably won't be there when the driver calls.

Saturday delivery is offered, again, if you pay extra.

Limited evening delivery service also is offered.

When I came home from the depot yesterday, again without my package as detailed in the last comment, there was a hang tag on the mailbox in the lobby.

Then, around 7:30 last night, when I was home, a hang tag was left on my unit door.

No one knocked, just left he tag and left.

Again, on Thursday afternoon, a UPS customer abuse person promised the package would be held at the depot for pickup.

I don't appreciate driving 15 miles to get something that had again been placed on a truck for delivery.

This outfit deserves to go out of business based on total incompetence.

"Every other delivery service I use from Ikea to food delivery has cell phone capability." You surely cannot be serious about UPS providing a cell phone so they can call you prior to delivery. UPS is a parcel delivery service, not furniture or appliance delivery service.

Those types of services only make a hand full of stops a day compared to a UPS driver. But let’s play with this a minute, shall we? Let’s say the average UPS driver in the US makes 130 stops a day, which is very realistic. And let’s say they spend an average of two minutes per call trying to make arrangements to deliver your package.

Hmmmm, if my math is right, that is 260 minutes a day spent on the phone trying to arrange a good delivery time for you. To break that down a little further, that is 4.3 hours of his day spent on the phone. Do you really expect the driver to spend one third of his day on the phone talking to *** like you? You are probably stuck on the one third comment.

The average driver will work 10-11 hours a day trying to get all of his stops off. And I assure you, that does not allow for 4.3 hours of his day on the phone.

People like you a make everyone’s life so much more complicated.

Another day, same old brown ***

After instructing the customer abuse person during a 30 minute phone call to hold the parcel for pickup at the depot and seeing this confirmed on my tracking page, the duffus at the depot put the package on the truck for another delivery attempt which was made while I was at the depot attempting to get my package.

This time, the delivery person made it into the lobby somehow and hung a tag on my mailbox but didn't bother to take the elevator to the second floor to knock on the door and deliver the package to my partner.

Seeing as you can't pick up parcels at the depot on the weekend, I have to repeat the entire process again on Monday.

This company sucks a big brown one.

Addition to my previous comment.

I asked to be called on my cell when the driver is approaching my address so I can meet him at the door.

(I live in a condo complex)

UPS says it doesn't provide it's drivers with cell phones!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every other delivery service I use from Ikea to food delivery has cell phone capability.

Why not UPS?

#95976

This is the most incompetent of any courier or postal service I've ever had the misfortune to use.

Every time something is shipped UPS, it never is delivered to my address.

After several frustrating events with this company, I am advising anyone from whom I buy or order something to use USPS instead.

I'm in Canada.

Every time someone in the US ships me something by UPS, I'm dinged for customs and brokerage fees and taxes, in addition to the shipping cost.

If a parcel comes through USPS to Canada Post, there are no fees, taxes, duties, brokerage charges, rip me off just for fun charges or any of that nonsense.

Latest example.

A 39 dollar US made item.

Shipping charge by UPS, only option offered, 17 dollars.

UPS wants an additional $27 dollars to turn my package over to me.

If the item had been shipped USPS, there would be no additional charges.

UPS is a ripoff organization, staffed by rude and unhelpful people.

I am advising anyone I prospectively deal with for ecommerce that I will not be patronizing them unless they will ship USPS.

Brown is the right colour for this organization.

It's the same colour as ***!

They are just so uninterested in the fact that they lost the tickets and are happy to blame other companies which I thought wasn't on. The lack of a complaints proceedure or indeed like you said a non premium rate telephone number and being kept on hold for forever left me spitting brass tacks this morning.

Have spent the day trying to find ways to contact any of the upper management but no luck so far. Even joined there facebook put a note on how useless they are then unjoined! Pathetic I know but it's so frustrating.

This world sucks these days. You should be allowed to go to the office beat up the *** then you'll feel much better.

I have them deliver to the wrong place on a regular basic or they say that nobody was there when they tried to drop it off but there are twenty five people that work in my building durring normal hours but the best one was when I had some phones overnighted and they said it was left at the front door and a dozen phone calls later found it thrown on otherside of a security gate for the company beside us. but I love how they wont give you the local number to complain or even help resolve the problem that day would it really be to hard to ask the driver were he put it.

UPS poor service again

We've lived in our home for 15 years in rural Illinois and for the past three years have not had one good experience with UPS. After complaining multiple times and even asking them to call for us to pick up our packages they still can't get it right. I've had thousands of dollars of merchandise left out by our mailbox which is a 1/4 mile away from our home, watched the driver throw, yes throw a package from ten feet towards our front door, electronics by the way, leave packages of fruit by the mailbox during the winter months, have been told the driver couldn't make it down our lane during the winter though the phone company, Fedex and our propane gas company had no problem, and now I received a post card saying after fifteen years they now need directions to our home. With that they couldn't deliver our latest package, and if we don't pick it up by 12-18 their going to send it back to the shipper. What is the most irritating about this is for 12 years we never had an issue using UPS and Fedex has never had a problem ever. On 12-11-09 at 1:11PM the tracking records show that a delivery attempt was made but there wasn't anyone available to sign for the package. This can not be since my wife works from home and no one ever came to the house. I think between the door bell and our three dogs she would have noticed a delivery truck driving down our private lane which only has three homes. At 7:23PM on the same day they said they needed directions to our home and that they sent us a postcard asking us to pick up our package. If you ask me it sounds like just another of their incompetant drivers not wanting to perform the tasks of their job.

UPS in Bronx, New York - Package not received

I'm expecting a package but never received.Worst thing was they placed a comment on the tracking system that I received a notice and made an arrangement to pick-up the package from one of their nearest locations. I stayed all day in my apartment waiting for package to arrive and UPS never showed up, did not receive any notice and I did not make any arrangement to pick up the 37lbs. package because I have back problem and I don't drive.I have no idea how they make up false comments in the tracking section.I complained to UPS almost every week and wrote a letter to customer services but all they did was listen and did nothing.

Same here. My hubby was home all day and my tracking said they left it at the front door!

If you saw my neighborhood, you would never leave an unattended package at my front door. I am two steps from the sidewalk, on a busy boulevard with a visitor parking lot about three steps from my door. I have two little steps leading up to my front door, with no landing area. I have absolutely NO place with which to conceal a package. I wish I could post a picture. Now, would you leave a package in this circumstance at any time, let alone at 1 in the afternoon?

It's all about fraud.
