I shipped a new iPod Nano to my sister via UPS. At UPS store, I didn't tell them what was inside or what the value was. When my sister received the package, unwrap the bubble wrap, open the plastic box that came with iPod, but nothing was inside. The package itself...

Ups wants you to purchase insurance blah blah but never ever have I know of one person who has filed a claim to ever be paid EVER. I have had only 2 claims in 5 years and neither were paid. My hummel figurines from my mother (purchased by my grandmother) were broken...

UPS screwed up again

Once again, I've been let down by UPS. Most of the deliveries I receive from them arrive in good order. Our local office, however, has a driver terrified of trees. Since we have a long driveway lined with trees, he refuses to drive down it--it's scary, you see, and he won't be able to turn around. So, he leaves packages (admittedly, he wraps them in plastic) at the end of our driveway. 1/5 of a mile from the house, next to the road where anyone could drive off with them. This results in our trying to figure out what bush, shrub or fencepost he may have left it near--it's Easter egg time here quite often. Today's complaint is that a package didn't arrive. In spite of being "out for delivery" since 8am this morning, at 8:40 PM they decide (in their words): Emergency Conditions Beyond UPS' Control / A Postcard Has Been Send To The Recipient Requesting That They Contact UPS." (their version was all in caps). What "emergency"? Yes, it's been raining here today, but the creeks haven't risen, no bridges are out, no roads are close....what? And they sent a postcard? Terrific. If I waited for that to arrive with rural delivery, it might get here next week some time. So, tomorrow morning, bright and early, I will be calling and ripping someone a new orifice. Friends don't let friends use UPS.

Shop around. Sending anything via a courier service overseas will cost you more than you may be billing to pay.

I wan't to buy a pair of THX Blue Filter glasses that cost only $1.99 US. To ship them to Australia UPS wants to charge me more than $80!

They are the worst shipping solution on earth. I'd rather have it shipped via RMS Titanic and then delivered to my doorstep in the middle of the night by Jack the Ripper then fork out $80 for a package that weights less than half a pound.

UPS in Dallas, Texas - 3 Service Reps Told Me the Rug is on the Truck

Dear UPS -- Well – UPS really messed-up this delivery… despite several calls to UPS to confirm delivery and the address the rug never showed up…after I was told by 3 service reps it would be delivered today, Sept. 15 by the end of the business day…!?!?! We had to run down a UPS truck, literally..and had the guy call the local office and the rug of course was not on a truck and was not scheduled to be delivered because they did not have an address…event though I confirmed it 4 times…I guess the 800 number that you call for UPS is worthless. Then we had to flag a van cab and go to UPS..and then pay an additional charge with the van cab to get the driver to bring us back to the venue – where it was supposed to be delivered all along…I can assure you I have nothing positive to say about UPS and will do all I can do to avoid using your service ever again.

UPS hung me out much too long

I was called on Sunday, late, re an unanticipated 'signature required' delivery on Monday. I lost a whole day hanging around per their directions - delivery finally after 8PM local after call to their HQ (@10 minute wait there plus more holds while the person checked) - driver finally showed up and said he did his route, then was told to go back out with more packages - management doesn't want to hire enough deivers! Worse, the product I ordered came from a US agency, which should - it seems to me - have used USPS! No wonder our postage service is screwed if our own government udoesn't use them.

UPS online joke

I moved six weeks before a UPS package was to be delivered. 4 minutes away to be exact. I had to wait till a first delivery attempt to "change address online" as they were unable to do anything without that information.(no tracking info guys?)It did not matter to them a stranger was now going to receive or deny my item. Online I was asked to enter my credit card # and after 11 attempts and 3 cards later. I was still informed my cards were invalid try again. Sounds fishy to me. Also no "get help link". They get paid and then could care less about the customer. This has been the most frustrating in a long history of UPS problems.

" They are not customer friendly if you are not the person "paying" for shippment."

your not the customer. somone already explained that to you.

for all they know when u call your some theif trying to reroute something. they have no way of verifying your id. besides theres no ups method that takes 6 weeks the most it takes domestically is five business days.

so all you had to do is tell the company u ordered it from that u moved. j crack corn knows the score.

You miss a couple of points. One I moved after the order was placed.

Two I was advised by UPS to go online after first delivery attempt. Bottom line. They are not customer friendly if you are not the person "paying" for shippment. The receipiant is out of luck.

I still have to deal w/getting my package from my old address. Keep in mind all the while I paid the shipper for shipping so in fact I am the "paying" customer

Of course the smarter thing to do would have been to have it shipped to your current address in the first place.

The person or company that sent the package to you paid UPS to do so, and they have to follow through. Imagine if anyone could just call UPS claiming to be someone else, asking UPS to reroute a package to a new address. That'd be a pretty serious flaw in their system, so obviously they don't do that.

UPS ***

The UPS guy just drove around my apartment and didn't even to bother to stop. I saw him through the window and I checked tracking of my shippment. It said that no one was awailable, b***S***. I hate theseguys. Last time they kept my package infront of door way where all my apartment people can take that. I order things online, Unfortunately some them get shipped through UPS. Is there any way I can ask the products to be shipped to me through some other company? If so how? where can I complain about UPS? Thanks in advance

As the recipient of packages you apparently have no rights. The local UPS office repeatedly leaves packages at the wrong location (usually the right numeric address but the wrong street). Attempting to contact any local representative is futile. Calling the 800 number...

"Calling the 800 number results in being told that only the shipper can file a claim."

Of course. They're the ones who paid UPS to ship it.
