UPS terrible service

I had a package to be delivered. Driver reported attempted delivery, I was home all day. I called to reschedule, I was told I had to meet driver at a business across the street from my house, because his schedule was too tight to drop package at end of my driveway, so I could send my son up to get it. This is absolutely ridiculous, next will my mail carrier want me to walk to my neighbor's for my letters? Extremely poor customer service. I will ask in the future for all packages to be sent thru postal service.

Two Day Delivery Now 4 Days and Waiting

Trusting UPS, I shipped time sensitive material on a second day UPS delivery. Their tracking data now says it has been on a truck for 3 days not 5 miles from the delivery point. Repeated calls to UPS customer service have been "pass the buck" scenarios each time. Talk to one person, Oh, I'll have to connect you to a specialist in that area", another 5 - 10 minute wait on the phone then, "Oh, that's not my area. I'll connect you to a specialist..." i spoke with no fewer than 3 "supervisors" and got the same run around each time.

UPS SUCKS

After asking my sister in law to sit home all day and wait for a package UPS sends me an email at 847pm stating we forgot to load ur item onto the truck so you can have the pleasure of sitting home another day and wait for us to come. My only request was that I have an aprox time of arrival so I didn't sit home all day yet again. Of course 15 calls and 8 hours later I receive a call from the call center stating the driver has 45 deliveries befor you so he will be there by 830 pm. So yet again I sat home all dam day again with no result. Not just that the person was very nasy and disrespectful at the call center. They need to develop a better grievance process. I will never ever use UPS again and I will never order from a company that uses UPS.

UPS franchise owner,

the lady at the counter made seem like looking for a package was the worst thing she ever had to do. she almost refused to help me. i told her that UPS did not leave a notice at my home, they called me instead and the caller didn't provide me with a tracking number. she told me that without it, it is impossible to find. she went to the back to look for it and in less than 1min she came back with it. horrible. may be she was having a bad day, no customer service, she should be trained properly

Rigid, Inflexible and Uncaring

Started early in the morning to correct a situation where a shipper erroneously marked "adult signature required". I asked the UPS delivery guy at my work if he could intervene. He did, assuring me that the product that was on schedule to be delivered did not require an adult signature. WRONG! My son answered the door and at at 16 could not sign for the merchandise. He had a note from me saying it was ok but the driver did not let him sign. He then would not agree to meet me to pick it up from the truck. I will now have to take time from work to go by their distribution center which is not convenient. Horrible mess . . . I always avoid UPS when possible.

UPS Driver was too lazy to bring package upstairs.

Today, the UPS driver called from downstairs security door. I buzzed him in but he didn't come in. He didn't even have the package with him. I saw him running back to his truck with no package. He put an info notice on the door and ran away! He was too lazy to bring a heavy package up to the 3rd floor thinking I would just go pick it up from the UPS service center.

I called UPS and they said they can't do anything and the package will be re-delivered the following day.

Absolutely horrible service!

400 times up and down the truck stairs alone and then ridiculous expectations that what should be delivered by freight companies pawned off on package care drivers with no access to an elevator. Sometimes consumers ARE wrong.

Guest

Stayed home waiting om a delivery all day. Now I am right here waiting on this LAZY UPS guy to return to take a package he left at the remote Main Office up to my 3rd floor Apt. *** thinks he got away with leaving a 70lb package way downstairs because it was the easy thing to do.

HA! I just had a UPS driver leave 3 pieces of furniture near my garage instead of HELPING ME drag them up my steps!!

I thought I was going down to help HIM but he just got back in his truck and DROVE OFF!!! I even asked him if they were heavy and he said "They have some weight!"

He saw me struggle with the first one which aside from being heavy was LONG TOO!

WHAT A HORRIBLE COMPANY! I am complaining to Pottery Barn's logistics division today.

WOW! Are you kidding me??

You buy furniture on line-instead of in a store, where they have actual delivery people, who are PAID to bring the items into your house and set them up, and you are SURPRISED that the UPS driver won't do the same? What a joke!

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-812471

UPS Drivers are paid to “Deliver the item in question!” They’re not paid to set it up! If you wanted that, you should have paid for the service that is provided by the company that you ordered said item.

I mean, there’s no logic needed when it comes to your idiotic rant. In other words, grow a brain!

Forgot to put your merch on the truck?!?!

Ordered merch from a store in Oregon, made it all the way across the country, called to arrange delivery well beforehand with the local UPS receiving center, wait around all day on the supposed date of delivery for them to call as previously arranged and after the agreed upon end time, NO CALL!! When I call the local UPS receiving center and inquired as to where's my stuff?, they were like "Oopsie we forgot to load it on the truck." Are you serious bro?!?! So I had to drive 30 miles one way to pick it up at their office (didn't want them to 'forget to load it on the truck' again)!! So much for the pre-arranged delivery!! Thanks for nothing UPS. BTW you owe me $25.00 for gas and another $10 for the ticket I was going to use that night but had to miss to go get my stuff.

rick - Apparently you are not a UPS customer, quit commenting on things you know nothing about.

This wasn't your local brown truck, this was a freight shipment.

Guest

what do you mean you "arranged the delivery" beforehand? ups does not arrange a delivery time, and they don't call before delivering it. doesn't happen.

Ups former employee

I am a former ups driver. The complaints that are posted here are no doubt real. The company right now is basically overwhelming there own work force. The drivers stop counts are being pushed up, the average stop count is around 170 stops, split routes as high as 240 stops. Currently, telemetry is incorporated into every package car. Your bulk head door isn't closed a report is printed the next day. Soon cameras will be added to the package car cabs. Ups keeps tightening the screws for driver and management alike. Management followes the drivers who's telemetry report is bad for that day. With video camera in hand they secretly follow a driver and video tape him. The pick up schedules for drivers are unrealistic compared to the amount of stops that a driver must deliver. Some pick ups start at 2 pm , if you have 170 stops you MUST get the bulk of it out before pickups or there maybe no room. Ups makes this job worse for all involved.

UPS - The Strongarm Collectors of DISH?

I am no longer a DISH customer and I returned their trashy receiver weeks ago. Tonight a UPS driver showed up at my door demanding that I give him items that I didn't have to be returned to Dish. I told the driver that I did not have anything and that he was sent in error (A call to DISH verified that they received my receiver already) but the driver wasn't hearing it. He wanted to come in and see if I still was using it (I now have the much-better DirecTV). When I told him no, he said he wanted me to box up the old DISH dish for him to send back. When I didn't he stormed off and peeled out of my neighborhood where my kids were playing near his truck. I will never use UPS again if I can help it!! You lost a loyal customer with one really bad apple

UPS and the Franchisee Set up is a SCAM!

I shipped an expensive sound board in an ANVIL CASE via UPS - I paid the UPS STORE #6158 in MDN, MS to pack it and I paid for insurance - maximum allowed. The Weight was less than 150 LBS. When I got my package the box it was shipped in was damaged and my Anvil Case was BENT! After the gig was over, I boxed up the CASE in the original box and took it to another UPS Store #238 in Tamarac, FL. I told them about the damage and they said they would take care of it (inspecting it I guess?) - but they said the weight was over 150 lbs so they would need to PACK it again in two separate boxes & ship one ground and the other freight? Which makes NO SENSE - there's NO WAY the original package and contents gained weight - they just wanted more MONEY. And they gave me an invalid tracking number so I couldn't even check on my equipment - after numerous e-mails, calls and attempts to FIND my gear - I found out that they let my Mixer and Case sit in the MIDDLE of their floor for 10 days doing nothing. AFTER I finally was able to track down my equipment, they finally shipped it out again, one regular ground, the other FREIGHT (I knew that was going to be BAD!) When I finally received my Mixer and Case the box was literally torn to pieces and the Anvil Case was bent WAY MORE - in fact, RUINED! I called the first store and told them about the problems and was assured they would take care of it - Three month later and NOT A WORD - so I called and was told my claim was denied - try filing it with Store Number 238 in Tamarac - but they have the WORST Customer Service anywhere and would NOT even return my calls. So I called UPS MAIN Customer Service and they said they would need PROOF so they sent a UPS truck to pick up my CASE - they signed for picking it up and again NOT a word for THREE MONTHS - I finally called only to be told my Claim was DENIED by UPS and that I should pursue this with the STORES - who both say pursue this with UPS as they are NOT affiliated just FRANCHISEES! Huh? I'm sure the Stores and UPS both made money from my payment AND for the insurance - and NOTHING has been done - in fact, UPS KEPT MY DAMAGED CASE - and does NOT KNOW WHERE IT IS! So that's 6 months with NO CASE and my case is NOW just GONE! They all point the finger at each other - UPS for the store NOT PACKING IT CORRECTLY and the STORES blame UPS for negligent handling of the case - well they are ALL LIABLE! I paid good money to ship and get insurance - now I have NOTHING - no case, no reimbursement, NOTHING! I'm taking them ALL TO COURT - as I have a LOT of experience in court so I'm suing for PUNITIVE DAMAGES (and other causes of action as well as blogging about them, filing BBB complaints and anything else I can think of including FILING a complaint with the ATTORNEY GENERAL Of MS! This is just dumb as just calling their respective attorneys to ask about representation will cost MORE than the case - IF I sue and WIN - which How can I LOSE? They will be out $15,000 or MORE and that's NOT including PUNITIVE DAMAGES that's just attorney's fees so everyone loses but the ATTORNEYS! And I'll have to waste a TON of time drafting pleadings, etc - all over a $450 Case! This is pathetic the way they have set up their Franchisees and UPS - they act like they have NOTHING to do with each other - well then why do they say UPS STORE - and why does UPS pick up the packages there? And why does UPS deliver the package to my HOME! They are running a subterfuge and a SCAM and I would gladly join in a class action and hopefully put them OUT OF BUSINESS as I can't count how many posts in forums and/or friends and associates that have had the EXACT SAME PROBLEM - Standard Procedure of Denial so people will just walk away - I'm NOT WALKING I'm running to the Court House to SUE!

Getting the runaround

I am scheduled to leave on a one year long assignment overseas. I placed an order which took about five days longer than another package that was shipped out the same day. The package needed a signature (which I didn't know) and I missed the first attempt. I was assurred the next day it would be delivered. I waited at my house and at 12:30 a driver showed up but said that the package must be on another truck. He said he couldn't call the other truck. Apparently UPS just delivers electronics but doesn't use them. Anyway, I kept calling to see if the package was still out and was assured that it would come and that I should be patient. At 7:00 PM I called and was told that drivers can't return to the warehouse until all packages are delivered. I was told to give them until 10:45PM because of heavy volume. I waited, checking occassionally with the customer service folks. In the end, I don't have it, can't pick it up and can't have it delivered until Monday. I leave on Sunday, so the package will not get to me on time. What a huge runaround. I will use FedEx or anyone else from know on. UPS is not the company it once was. This isn't the first time they gave me the runaround but it is the first time that they completely failed. BS at every turn.

So the driver risking his life is justified ??? 1 life for another is okay, what about his/her spouse, kids ....

HYPOCRITE. Weather is unpredictable. Gripe at your state/local road crews and accept natural occurance.

I dont like UPS so I use other sources. That driver had important packages for EVERYONE, not just you who were inconvienced.

UPS - worst customer service ever!

UPS does NOT know what they are doing. I have had numerous bad experiences with them. Their customer service agents have the ability to research and do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! They have NO idea where a package is at any given time, no idea where a package was left, and NO idea how to find out. I actually had a supervisor HANG UP ON ME because I was begging and pleading with her to help me find a very important package...after I already begged and pleaded with someone else for 45 minutes. They literally do not know where their drivers leave packages, and if they do, they refuse to pass that on to the customer....it's amazing to me. They continually told me to contact the shipper...Why the *** would the shipper know where UPS left my package? They are horrible and I avoid shipping with them as much as possible. What can brown do for me? Go bankrupt and dissolve.

I am still waiting for a package that is TWO WEEKS late. No one at UPS has responded to tell me what is going on.

I have had ENDLESS problems/delays/frustrations with them.

i just don't know why anyone would choose to use UPS (U stands for USELESS). They can't even provide the basic service of communicating with their customers let alone DELIVER a package.

Way beyond them it seems.

Pathetic company. Worst service EVER.

Guest

UPS has the WORST service! When you file a claim against a driver who threw the boxes, used profanity and acted rude they do absolutely nothing. In fact, they call back saying thet just can't *** another driver to your address so basically you are screwed because they will do NOTHING about it.

And the next day the driver will come super late, take pictures of your personal property, i don't know if i should take this issue legal because it is unbearable and i cannot believe they don't care to ruin their company's image with an employee like that and they do nothing about it.

UPS is horrible, the worst customer service in the world. they deliver packages to my address that do not belong to me and the label doesn't even have my address and they deliver my packages to other addresses, they are a mess!!!!!

This employee Jose Saveedra is rude, lazy, disrespectful, and on top of that once you file a claim against this rude person UPS does NOTHING and allow him to keep messing with the customer's packages. He has delivered boxes open, he is the type of employee that NO ONE should hire! Awful!

UPS does not know how to manage issues and does not respect their customers claims or requests!

UPS WORST COMPANY EVER!

tracking# or,no SOUP FOR YOU

Carla B Kmm

Why would you treat me like that? Did I do something to hurt you?

Actually, that time of the month doesn't come for me, so that's not the correct answer. Nice try, though.

I don't really understand why you would be so nasty to me...unless, of course, you work for UPS, which would explain it. Apparently, this site is not really for people to complain about bad businesses...it's so others can belittle and hurt the people who do...Great.

Guest

Please accept my apology, it's become clear now what the issue was/is...it's your special time of the month. That explains everything!

My last words of advice for you sweetie, have fun with your aunt flo, and feel free to stick in a tampon anytime.

#smh

Carla B Kmm

I HATE SOUP. And I still don't understand why anyone would post a personal tracking number on a site where anyone can read it...I guess that makes me arrogant and ignorant...or just someone who values my privacy.

Carla B Kmm

arrogant and ignorant? Why would I post a tracking number on a site?

I gave the tracking number to UPS 50+ times..why would I post if for you? And it is not the only problem I have had with them...and it was NOT my choice to ship with surepost...and they couldn't even tell me WHICH POST OFFICE THEY DELIVERED IT TOO! So, should I blame the shipper for the UPS supervisor hanging up on my when I asked her name? Is that professional?

Is that good customer service? How does that make me "no smart"..oh I'm sorry...I believe your words were " U not smart", which makes you a freaking genius, doesn't it? Worst customer service ever.

Regardless of the names you decide to call me in defense of UPS...which really, by the way, does a lot for their reputation..calling their customers names..That definitely helps your case. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!

Guest

NO soup for you!!!!!!

Guest

Now it's clear what the 'problem' was, your shipper used surepost, which is the cheapest possible option and not a true UPS service. Basically it pays for UPS to deliver to the Post Office who then delivers to you. That's why UPS couldn't tell you where the package was exactly...they DIDN'T HAVE IT, they had already transfered it to the USPS.

Your anger is misguided here, tool. You should blame your shipper, or yourself, for choosing the cheapest possible option. UPS did what it was paid to do.

U not smart.

PS. Giving the tracking number at the beginning someone here could have cleared this up for you sooner, you are obviously too ignorant and arrogant to get it though.

UPS sucks, big time!!!

They always screw up my orders, they never come when they are supposed to, and they charge SO MUCH MORE than USPS, for a completely inferior job. When I order something, I demand that they do not ship it UPS , or I order from someone else. Anyway, my work placed an order for my business cards. They were supposed to be here 5 days ago, we track the package, and it was in my state, 1/2 hour away, six days ago, and then instead of going out for delivery the sorter shipped it back to where it came from. I explain, "I need these business cards, I am printing out my email address to give people my info. Can you please overnight them?" They casn't, the package has been sorted and there's too many packages to do that... The only company that ever screws up my delivery is UPS, and they do it predictably. God I hate this company...
