UPS - does not deliver to signed person

I shipped to UPS paid the fee for "signature required" go to find out the package was delivered but NOT to the person(s) addressed to. Is the drivier entitled to "elect" who they deliver a package to? Does paying "extra" for signature required not guarantee that the package is delivered to person it is addressed to. And worse the only answer from UPS is is that they delivered the package, it was delivered to the address, and they obtained a signature. REALLY, they can't validate the address they delivered it to, only repeat the address on the shipping slip, then can't confirm that the the addresee received the package, only that it was signed for and delivered. NEVER again will I use UPS. This has Never happened with United States Postal Service. And I used UPS because they are suppose to be more reliable and accurate.

UPS is not required to deliver to the person named on the label. They can deliver to and have anyone at the address listed sign for the package. Once it is signed for at the address, it absolves UPS of any more responsibility with regards to the package.

UPS - what is WRONG with them!

Update by user Jun 03, 2013

I did not and will not address the issue of other packages. The only package that concerns me is mine.

I was not notified that the package was returned to a warehouse and was certainly not given the option of picking it up. In fact, I called UPS to try to get information on whether this was a possibility and was told that no one knew any more than I did. Whether I needed it or not is of no consequence to this issue and is not for you, UPS, or anyone else to judge.

A service was purchased, goods were entrusted to UPS, and UPS failed to fulfil its side of the contract. I wrote to customer service, and to at least two of the company executives to discuss the matter and did not hear back from them (June 2013)

On Thursday Dec. 20, 2012, my sister sent me a package by way of UPS Express (Waterloo to Ottawa, Ont.) expecting it to be delivered to me by 10:30 a.m. on Friday Dec. 21, 2012. The most recent update was at 13:43 Dec. 21 stating that delivery had been rescheduled due to "emergency conditions beyond UPS' control". There was no mention of a rescheduled date or time. Firstly, there were no emergency conditions in Ottawa, there was a snow storm. People went to work, people travelled, people went shopping, and Canada Post delivered letter mail and packages, ON TIME!! A snow storm in Ottawa in December does not constitute an emergency, it means that traffic moves slower for a couple of hours. Second, where's the package? It seems to have disappeared into thin air. Third, it's Christmas. I (and my sister) would expect a courier service to have extra staff to make deliveries and to work in the evening. There is no excuse for the package not to have reached its destination, a few hours late maybe, but on the same day. We have no idea when, or indeed if, UPS intends to deliver the package. And fourth, I tried to contact Customer Service and was told that no one was working on Saturday or Sunday. Of course not. Why would anyone be available at the busiest time of year just because that's the business they're in!!!? This is beyond outrageous, it's insulting. UPS has lost at least two customers

"Emergency condition" do not necessarily mean where you are. Sometimes there are emergency conditions along the logistical chain...auto accidents, railway issues, weather, security issues...hard to believe the world doesn't revolve around you, eh.

If that we're the case, I should have been given an alternative estimated delivery time. You're full of excuses for them which makes me think that you might be UPS's idea of customer service. If that's the case, my sister wants a refund.

1.) On that day, UPS delivered packages. They didn't deliver yours.

2.) Your package didn't disappear into thin air. It went back to the warehouse, where you could've picked it up.

3.) Since you didn't go pick it up, you must not have needed it that badly.

UPS failed to deliver - Pkg on Truck

Shipped a package for delivery on 12/21. On 12/21 mid-day, checked the status and found that the package was on the truck and out for delivery. PACKAGE NEVER GOT DELIVERED. Today, Saturday 12/22 - now told that the package is locked in a trailer for delivery on Monday 12/24. (TOO LATE). Upon further discussion, was told that their system probably had a mistake and the package was never on the truck. (SO NOW YOU CAN"T BELIEVE THE TRACKING INFO) Then was told that they are not delivering any items (even those promised for Friday) as they are only taking care of TOP PRIORITY items such as payroll and medication. This is the weekend before Christmas - you would expect this type of company to be delivering non-stop! Customer service was horrible! Person was patronizing and could only say they would refund money. Never tried to find a solution. AWFUL Experience.

I ordered through amazon on 12/17 and paid for 2nd day air. Finally on 12/21 through tracking I found my package was on the truck for delivery This is a Christmas present.

I was checking outside all day and finally about 8 pm I checked for the last time and nothing. Saturday am there was a sticker on my door saying they attempted delivery at 6;40 pm on Friday, but no one was available to sign. But the worst part is that they would not attempt redelivery until 12/24 after 5 pm. I could not get any satifaction or help ove the weekend, so I guess I wil just keep my fingers crossed.

This would not be so bad, but, I ordered a few things on line and everything from Fedex was delivered as promised.

The other package that was delivered UPS showed that it was delvered on 12/14 at 10:20 pm, but did not actually arrive until after two phone calls, unexpectedly on Monday, 12/17 with no explanation. NO MoRE UPS FOR ME.

UPS Failed To Deliver Due to Adverse Weather B.S

Not only did UPS don't deliver on time but they are refusing to reimburse the extra money I paid for express shipping! I ordered from my vendor on Monday 12/17/12 and chose the 3-day express delivery option in order for it to be here guaranteed by this Friday 12/21/12. Guess what? The package has been at a 2-hour away facility since Thursday and they still couldn't get it to me on time by Friday. I called and asked if they would deliver today, Saturday 12/22/12, and they refuse to and now they won't deliver until Monday 12/24/12 and they do not allow me to pick it up either! Their excuse, adverse weather, I understand in other places but come on UPS you have had the package for days in a near facility and there is no weather related issue in this state! This is costing me thousands of dollars as I have no merchandise and this is the busiest season of the year! Next time hire more employees and stick to your words instead of saying lies!

UPS ruined my Christmas!

Ive received 5 packages in the last 3 weeks, each one delivered by ringing the bell and waiting for a responce. A laptop was "delivered" last night. No one rang my bell yet i received an email it a delivered. There was no package. Apparently Ups is above the law and you cannot file a police report against them. So my laptop is stolen and no one gives a *** and on top of that your hold time is OVER 30 minutes to even speak to someone about it. Never again will i order from Google since they dont do an investigation on stolen packages either and they ship with Ups which ill never use again. What kind of business is that? Yeah ill get a refund, after christmas when its too late. Thanks for nothing but aggrevation and regret.

UPS are arseholes no doubt as well as fedex. I had them do a drop off of perishables in the rain.

Just left it outside behind the trash can is what the driver wrote.

This is what I was told when I called and cursed out everyone I could. Never again will i order from ftd.com

UPS HAS THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!

I ordered a pair of gloves that my boyfriend wanted for christmas so I ordered them on Dec 19 and paid extra to have them delivered in 2 days. I checked my tracking and itsaid it was in Fresno Ca at 5:30 am and should recieve it that today, on Dec 21. Today was my day off and my mother did not work either, we where here all day and when I checked at 3pm what the status was, it said it was delivered at 11:30 am! We never heard a knock, a ringbell nor seen a package anywhwere. We asked the neighbors and they said they never sean or heard anything. I called UPS and there was an automated machine saying they dont take calls because they are to busy, I tried to make a claim online and it stated I had to wait 24hrs! Why would I have to wait to claim for something that tracking states was left at my front door and wasent! I have always used FEDEX and this was the first withUPS...never again will Iuse them and I will advise those around me to never use them to avoid them loosing anything!

UPS in Broomfield, Colorado - Lied about delivery time

On 4/24/12, I sent a passport Next Day Air Early AM, with guaranteed delivery by 8:00 AM, from Broomfield, CO to the Marriott in Elmhurst NY. I sent the passport to my partner, who had forgotten to bring it with him on a trip to Canada. The passport arrived around 8:40 AM on 4/25/12, 40 minutes late. From the lobby of the Marriott in Elmhurst, my partner called UPS customer service around 8:00 AM and again at around 8:30 AM and had a conversation with the representatives to try and find out where the package was. He was in the hotel lobby, frantically asking their front desk for help to make sure the package had not arrived earlier. Around 8:40 AM, my partner saw the UPS truck pull up to the back of the hotel, and then a hotel employee came out and gave him the package. I checked online later that day and saw that the package was marked as having arrived at 7:53 AM. This is an outright fraud, probably committed by the delivery person. We believe he scanned the package at 7:53 AM in his truck to avoid having to reveal that the package arrived late. It didn't arrive until well after 8, and my partner saw with his own eyes the truck pulling up to the hotel around 8:40 AM. Believe me, he was counting every minute as he had a plane to catch! The tracking ID I have for this shipment is: https://iship.com/trackit/track.aspx?t=1&Track=MMEYMFWDBQ1D8&src=_e

UPS - They lie to cover up late deliveries

I overnighted a passport for Next Day Air Early A.M., guaranteed delivery by 8:00 AM, to my partner, who had forgotten to bring it with him on a multi-city trip that included a flight to Canada. The passport was reported as delivered at 7:58 AM. In reality, the passport did not arrive until 8:40 AM, and my partner had to scramble to make it to the airport on time. UPS denies any culpability, and it claims that there is no way that a driver can lie about the time of delivery. But apparently there is. The only proof we have is a call my partner placed to UPS customer service between 8:00 AM and 8:40 AM that day (4/25/12) asking the customer service representative when the passport was going to arrive. However, UPS denies that any such call was made. Liars!

UPS

Hopeless UPS. The driver did now knock or ring the bell and just pasted a missed delivery notification on my door. I called the support to check what happened and they were like we dont know . I told them to deliver it the next day and they said okay. I wait at home the entire daya next daya and I dont get the package. *** service, they should realize that people are waiting for holiday presents and need them in time. What a shame UPS does not have anything to offer when it comes to customer service. No UPS EVER AGAIN.
