UPS in Ferndale, Washington - Incompetent and unreliable

I spend 15-20K/year shipping with UPS. Daily pickup is crucial as we have built our business around timely deliveries and order processing. I can't count the days over the past 15 years when UPS has failed to pick up our parcels. I've had 50+ packages sitting for days with guaranteed delivery dates to our customers when UPS has not bothered picking up a routine stop. Even after calling the local dispatch when things seem to be running a little late we get bogus claims of 'someone will stop by' before the end of day. Due to seasonal drivers their knowledge of our history is not obviously not acknowledged. They have no clue as to their routes and even the local dispatch(Redmond/Issaquah) when called does not take interest. If looking for a dependable shipping provider UPS is NOT the answer. As we are looking into alternatives I encourage anyone else to do the same. UPS keeps raising their rates and lowering their obligations and commitments, it's embarrassing and I'd be ashamed if was in corporate UPS making these decisions. USPS is getting a lot more of our business. and we'll be switching to FedEx next season. Nobody at UPS seems to be accountable for their errors and yet the small business pays for it in many ways. Please call my 50 customers today that their packages will be delayed because you did not bother picking up their parcels and processing them in a contractual manner, of which I pay a weekly fee for. Actually, dont bother. they have a loophole for everything and will bill you whether they comply with their own contract or not. Unfortunately it's not worth the time and effort off fighting it as it takes 15 minutes to get to the first layer of their customer service. Beyond that, good luck. UPS needs to be exposed for their monopolistic, uncaring, bottom line business tactics. That being said, I do love and appreciate the UPS drivers. They are innocent victims in a paralytic corporate regime. I have nothing but positive notes to portray on their behalf. Hard working, personable, dedicated, etc. They too shake their heads and are frustrated with their beaurocracy. total cluster f%*K of a company! Avoid them at all cost!

UPS not responsible in getting packages to destination

I had a package shipped from NY to MD. A UPS driver picked up the package on Nov. 26, 2012 and it was never delivered. The package had inventory that was to be sold during the Holiday Season. I filed a claim with UPS and I'm distraught by the way the UPS representatives are so nonchalant about the fact that my package was picked up by their driver and never delivered. They respond as if they are doing me a favor in offering me less than 1% of what the value of my package is worth. My Loss exceeds $15,000 in inventory. I now understand that purchasing insurance is not just to cover loss due to damage or theft after delivery from UPS. You need to purchase insurance to be insured from loss, damage or theft from UPS the company that's hired to do what is expected of them, and that is to deliver our packages.

UPS LIES. VERY IRRESPONSIBLE.

UPS was supposed to pick a package. It made first atempt without any prior notice and left a notice on the door saying they will make a second attempt next day. My wife requested her boss to allow her to work from home the next day and stayed home the whole day. The guy doesn't show up. So we call UPS the same night again. UPS tells us they tried to make another(2nd) attempt(according to the system)! There was not even a notice sticker on the door!! Then the guy comes next day without any prior notice and doesn't find anyone at home and this time leaves a notice sticker on the door. Now when we contact UPS says "well according the system we have made 3 atempts and you need to pay again. Both of us work,so can't stay home every day nor can we leave the package outside as its expensive. Since this was a return package to Amazon, UPS will not even allow us to drop the package at any of their stores. Its really frurstrating and hard to believe a company like UPS has this kind of low standard. I am taking this up with BBB as well...

UPS lies about delivery guarantee

Paid UPS for second-day air, "guaranteed" delivery. Stayed home from work. At 4:45 pm, status was changed from "delivery today" to "rescheduled for delivery tomorrow." No explanation, nothing. Just a big 'ole F.U. I've been on hold with UPS for last 45 minutes (including being hung up on once), waiting to "speak to a supervisor." Right. These people need to be sued. UPS customer service doesn't, UPS delivery doesn't. Best line from customer service rep, at 4:51 pm, : "It can't be delivered today because the driver has already left the facility for the day." That's your story?

UPS making assumed shipping changes

i bought my first $450 DSLR camera and was extremely excited. it was to be delivered on Thursday. my wonderful journey with with UPS starts with my package leaving NJ and not getting another scan for 66 hours, which isn't a big deal as it was still on time. then i learn about a will call request and ask customer service a question about it and in no way did i ask them to change the status of the package. after giving the lady (Anne S) my tracking number she informs me that she made the changes and i will be able to pick up my package. i had heard that it takes an extra day to do so, i asked if i would still get it by Thursday and didn't get a reply for a while so i called and they said i could get it on Wednesday because it was in my town on MONDAY!!! so that's great. now i get an email back from Anne S saying i can pick it up on Thursday and that she has made the changes (once again assuming!). At this point i start to *** at her for constantly assuming when and how i want my package and this time i do not get an email back but instead my package that once said withheld for pickup now says will be delivered. i have never been treated so poorly by any business EVER. if any smaller company had customer service like this then they wouldn't be in business long. ben_da_destroyer@yahoo.com

UPS

I paid extra to Amazon.com for two day delivery so my son could have a game he really wanted for Christmas. Along with that game I ordered other presents which were all due to come on Christmas Eve. My son knew that his game was coming so he waited by the door all day for UPS. I checked the status and it stated DELIVERY ATTEMPTED NO ONE TO SIGN ( the package didn't need to be signed for). I called UPS they said it's a mistake you have 2 packages on the truck now. At 5:00 UPS delivered one package and the game was not in there. My UPS carrier was great and called UPS-the package had been scanned but no one knew where it was. When I called to complain they hung up on me. They lied, my son did get his game and I will never use UPS again. This is not the first time but it will be the last!

UPS

I shipped an overnight letter from Flowood, MS on 12/20/12. I shipped it to Riverside, CA and it did not arrive until Dec 24. UPS charged my credit card $ 38.08 for this terrible "overnight" service. I actually arrived in Riverside , CA before the letter arrived. This letter contained a payment that was subsequently late. I called UPS billing and was told that their terms allow them to make any claims they want and still charge you a premium rate for less than poor service. According to their time line the letter was shipped by truck from Kentucky to California and that even though the package was in California on Friday the 21st, I did not pay an additional premium on their already over priced charge so it sat there for 3 days before it was delivered. I will use FEDEX or the USPS from now on. Terrible service should not be rewarded with continued patronage.

if your item was late (due to a missort, late plane, bad weather, etc) it would be delivered the next BUSINESS day. in your case that would be monday, as it's the next business day after friday

all carriers have the same policies. unfortunately you are too ill informed to understand.

Ups throwing stuff

I bought a large textbook for one of my classes and when the ups guy came to deliver it he didn't even bother to get out of the truck. I have a round drive way and he just drove by and threw it at my front door. it dented my storm door and broke the glass part of the door. and what if something fragile had been in the box? is that what they do, just throw everything? is that how they treat other peoples stuff? I had to buy a new door that cost more than the book did because of the lazy ups delivery people in Virginia.

UPS delivered an empty package

I sent my grandson a Christmas present via UPS. It was delivered to front door. It was on the front door less than one hour, in a respectable neighbourhood. When my daughter- law opened it she found only the wrapping paper and the bow. Who is responsible, did it get tampered with on its journey within UPS, or did someone go up to the front door, slice open the back of the package, remove the item and then reseal! My money is on theft in the UPS system. I really don't think I will win with a claim. What dispicable people stealling in shuch a way.

First of all, let start by saying, I'm sorry you had this happen to you. I work for UPS.

Please call the 800 number. Tell them you want to file a claim.

Once you do that, they will investigate. After the investigation, you will get your money.

UPS Des Moines Is Useless

I shipped two packages via UPS to my family in Des Moines. Packages arrived there on December 21 and, every day, we got message that delivery delayed due to weather. On December 25th, still not delivered. Meanwhile, everybody else in town driving around going to the store, etc. UPS reason: Weather. Packages just sat there in warehouse. From now on, its FedEx all the way for me. One of the items was perishable and packed in ice. I can imagine what it will be like once UPS gets off its butt and delivers it. Very, very poor service in Des Moines. Never happened before anywhere else and I've been using them for 30 years.

UPS likes to operate understaffed, requiring nearly maximum legal overtime to get the job done. Under the best conditions during 'peak' there aren't enough drivers to work enough hours to get the job done.

Add weather to the mix and you see what happens. All is well for UPS, however, as they can just blame the weather and deny all claims even though it is really a staffing problem, not the weather.
