Ups ( monkey in the middle B/S )

I work out of town alot and like most people am not able to be home when deliveries are made. I had orderd an item from a company that deal with jewelry and such ( an awsome skull ring with red cz eyes and tribal style tattoos engraved into it ) ,so in much anticipation I came home expecting to see a small package waiting on the stoop , but Upon pulling in the drive and eagerly looking around the door, Nothing! Except for a little piece of paper requesting a signature upon delivery. Ok as I said Im almost never home ,well I can just call and have them waive the whole signature thing they'll understand my circumstance right ? I mean I am the consumer paying for the service.Not so much ! You see apperently the $12.99 I gave them for the 2nd day air shipping option doesn't really count for much on the cutomer appreciation scale but it does inevidably make your package inaccessable to you if you cam not be present at the time of the delivery, or get off of work prior to 7 o clock mon-fri . Anyways I call to reschedule the drop or to not have to sign as I live in a fairly good area and really had no concerns about them just leaving it on my porch . Well they couldn't just leave it , nor could they provide any time that they could deliver or I could pick it up , so with no viable options I got a little short fused and said " well If I cant recieve the package that I'm payin you to deliver you mat as well just ship back ! " Thats what he did quicker than I'd ever seen ups move . I know beacause I was still after hanging up trying to get the package I had ordered. The package that was literally on my front porch just hours ago that came across the country to be there. Didn't make a whole lot of sense to me to ship it all the way back or wait any longer for it . So after 2hours and countless ups customer service reps I found that either they are lazy incompitent or their system is just not effective and nobody could reverse the cancellation or reschedule a drop off date ( I was able to make arrangements after the fact). They all tried to pawn me off and say you can only reschedule using the myups website ,so I signed up and tried , didnt work wouldnt let me correct the problem .I'm sorry but if you can't do anything as a cs rep you should not have a job! I know it all soumds kinda petty but us little guys that buy something here and there or alot of car and bike parts like me . Dammit were their bread and butter they aught to treat us accordingly. I will go out of my way to avoid dealing with these jokers. Our us postal service needs saving anyways..I probably missed alot of the details but I hope I got my point across. IM PAYING ITS MY PACKAGE BOUGHT AND PAYED FOR , IM SORRY IF I DONT WORK BANKERS HOURS BUT DAMMIT YOU NEED TO WORK WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!

UPS Deliveryman can't read my address!

A package was overnighted to me through UPS on 1/2/13 with a delivery date of 1/3/13. The package was addressed to my apartment community leasing office. Instead of taking the package into the leasing office, the remedial UPS driver decided to do some higher level thinking skills and marked "undeliverable as addressed" on the package which will require me to drive 40 miles to pick up a package I paid $21.00 to have delivered to my apartment office. UPS said the sender should have wrote, "deliver to leasing office" on the package. UPS as a whole company would screw up a wet dream! I have no earthly idea how they stay in business and will never use them again. I find it interesting that they have a specific location for people to pick up "undeliverable packages". Actually, the Pony Express could have delivered my package more efficiently than UPS. I also find it interesting that so many people complain about UPS and nothing ever happpens. Probably just an additional indicator of the mess our country is in and the intellect and reasoning powers of UPS employees.

Your leasing office did not want to take responsibility accepting goods on behalf of other people. Why you ask?

because it is "higher level thinking" individuals like you who cause problems if something doesn't go your way......If you put your name on a shipment that is addressed to an office, they will not sign for it since they do not employ anyone under that name. You did not have your actual apt. number for them to redirect it to, so when the driver attempted delivery.

the people said "no one works here by that name and we dont accept for residents. He sent it back since no correct address on label to refer to

@micky

I get the impression , maybe you work for UPS. Sorry to hear that if that is the case.

But , since you want to defend them (UPS) go for it! I received a postcard , delivered to my house by the US Postal System, from UPS Saying that my package could not be delivered because the address did not exist.

I'm just saying.... the post office delivered to me...

UPS in Hartford, Michigan - Did Not Deliver Package in Timely Manner

Tracking #1ZW5W522YW31917652. Per Tracking statement Arrived Ludington 12/29/12 5 AM Sunday in Ludington (I live about 4 - 5 miles from their facility) Nothing delivered New Years Eve 12/30/12. Nothing delivered Wednesday 1/2/13 (rather waited until 9 PM night cause that is when they make deliveries) but the local office was able to deliver to the Ludington Post at 12:09 PM for the post office to deliver not this day but the tomorrow the 1/3/13. This is not the first time this is happened. By my count this means the delivery was delayed three "work" days. I also understand from the post office they are paid over $3+ to deliver a package (Why not have the manager deliver it themself. One time per the tracking statement I actually followed the package to the post office. This was after 4 in afternoon after UPS facility had delivered to post office just before noon. I could not get package until next day cause the post office would not retrieve it for me. This shows package delivery (your meat and potatoes)stinks. Charles Gatfield

UPS delivery unreliable

I paid extra money to have an item delivered to me via UPS 2-day service. It was supposed to get to me by Dec 28th. It's Jan 2nd and I still haven't received it. Every day I check it, the delivery date is pushed back one day. Now, they are saying I should get it by Jan 4th. Pretty sure it will be Jan 5th when I check it tomorrow. Paid extra money for nothing. I will think twice before (if ever) I use UPS again. FedEx and even USPS is reliable and provides better service than f'ing UPS.

UPS has no respect for other peoples time. They indicate a 12 hour window in which the parcel will be delivered-- can't even narrow it down to morning or afternoon with the technology available, and even then does not deliver during that time frame.

Unacceptable service and inconsiderate of others.

UPS driver probably drank my wine.....

At the end of my honeymoon, I shipped a case of wine to myself from California to Washington, DC using a UPS endorsed mail center. 3 weeks later I received notification from UPS that the shipment was damaged. Our insurance claim was denied because UPS said we did not use a specific grade of Styrofoam. They also will not let us claim our box to see if anything was salvageable. We were never told the insurance was only valid if we used UPS shipping materials. The UPS manager named CJ (operator ID 2494) refused to give me his last name or the dispute claim phone number. So I am starting an "I HATE UPS" campaign. There was a giant sign on the box that said "WINE" Im sure the UPS staff enjoyed my frickin Pinot Noir.

You ARE licensed to ship Wine ?

It is a product that individuals cannot ship, if caught, it can be 5 yrs in the Pen, and $250,000 fine.

Shipping Wine across State Lines is federal Offense, attempting to avoid State Taxes !

Read the UPS Tariffs, regarding shipping Wine, or any Acoholic Beverages.

Oh, and per UPS Shipping Procedures, you can produce proof you required Adult Signature ?

UPS 2nd day Air takes 7 days

I am really displeased with ups service. I paid for a 2nd day air, but my package took 7 days and counting. I called and called UPS support but no one could give me a straight answer.UPS has gotten too lazy and takes its customers for granted. I am not using their service anymore, even if I have to deliver them myself. The funny thing is they don't even let you post complaints or have direct access to decision makers and complain directly to them. I ended up filling a claim with my credit card and reverse the purchase.

Lazy UPS Driver put packages out on front of house where easily stolen

I ordered toys for my grandchildren from Toys R Us for Christmas. Our long term UPS driver always puts the UPS deliveries in the garage as he has done for 19 years and never a problem. I operate a home based business and get up to 10 UPS packages per week. The extra Christmas help driver just dropped the packages with the toys at the "front door" according to the tracking info (visible and close to road to be easly stolen). When I did not receive them I called and filed a claim, they insinuated I probably got them and was just trying to scam them and said it was there perogative to leave them in the middle of the street if they chose to do so. Also since I filed a claim they would now make me sign for every delivery which will be impossible since I travel with my work. I am so angry their incompetence spoiled my Grandchildrens Christmas and they want to punish me for their poor judgment. Fed Ex from now on for sure!!!!

UPS Negligent Driver! Poor Service!

The UPS driver in my area 60543 is the worst Mail delivery person I have had in 43 years. They are the most careless of all the mail delivery companies by far. It is probably just the driver because I don't really remember them being this bad before. A few months ago my wife witnessed the driver rolling an 1100 dollar speaker cab end to end down the ramp of her truck. Then she left it in the driveway in front of the garage. She happened to leave it in front of my wife's car and she had to move it with my dolly, causing her to be late for work. I complained to UPS and they told me they would talk to her and that they took complaints seriously. If they do take it serious, the driver obviously doesn't. Now months later I ordered another speaker cab, same result. Only this time not only was the package on the driveway and in front of my wife's car, the box is damaged. Now I have to open it and hope it's not damaged. If it is who gets the headache, you guessed it me. Stay away from ups if at all possible. They are expensive and no you do not get what you pay for!

ups is NOT a postal system and does not deliver mail, ups is a private carrier. one reason ups (and fedex) cannot put items in your mail box. The post office/usps is the us postal system and delivers the mail.

Mail can be a letter a package etc. I did not mean the post office.

I meant what I said UPS.

Mail is letters and packages delivered by a postal system. To answer your question UPS started delivering packages in 1919 I believe.

@rottin69

UPS IS a postal system, just not government run.

Mail, or post, is a system for transporting letters and other tangible objects: written documents, typically enclosed in envelopes, and also small packages are delivered to destinations around the world. Anything sent through the postal system is called mail or post.

A postal service can be PRIVATE or public, though many governments place restrictions on private systems.

That is why UPS AND FedEx can not put things in your mailbox.
