UPS is defective and irresponsible

Awful experience, never got the package. Amazon initially said if I order by certain date in December it will be at my door by Dec 27th. After ordering gave me a message that it will arrive on January 3rd instead. UPS brought the package to my door on Jan 3 and as I was not at home, left a label to pick from the local UPS store in 7 days. They never tried a second attempt for delivery. When I went to local store, package was not there and was sent back to Amazon "because I refused it". I called the 1-800 UPS number, earliest possible (7:30 am), they found the package and promised to resend to local UPS store. Then by midnight same day, package was shipped back to Amazon. UPS manager said they made errors but are not able to help. I should contact Amazon directly.

The packet was picked up on Saturday 5th January, 2013 at 4 pm. by your franchisee agent M/s Flight Despatch Courier & Cargo (India) Pvt Ltd vide awb no 20081101. We were charged Rs. 2740 for the courier by agent Sunil mob. no 7206833456. Till date i.e. Tuesday 8th January, 2013 12.50 pm I have no got the UPS tracking no. This is very poor service and our buyers are very disappointed that UPS should provide such a lackluster customer service even after repeated calls to 1800 227171I would like to know immediately as to why the packet was not delivered to the right location since the 5th Jan, 2013. UPS in San Angelo, Texas - Lost boat

i ordered a pontoon boat from sportsmans guide, after it arrived i decided it was not what i wanted.i contacted sportsmans guide and got a return lable sent to my printer.i repackaged the boat (weighed approx 70lbs)attached the lable sent by sp.guide and called for a pickup which was verified by ups.they called the next morning to make sure the package was ready (it was)and said the driver would pick it up.this is a very small town and the driver who picked it up is a friend and i saw him on the day of the scheduled pickup and asked did you get my package off my porch,he stated yes i did.the nightmare drama started at that point, believing all was well i waited for my refund to show up on my cc..after app.2 weeks i called spo.guide for an update and was told they had no record of any pickup at my address and the lable sent was not scanned and so not available for a refund,i was told to call ups to start a track on said package.i did this and spoke with the ups terminal manager who stated there was no record of any pickup at my address.i continued to speak with this manager who put me off for several weeks then passed me off to some type of internal security who assured me he could get to the bottom of this problem and get compensated for my loss.low and behold the next time i tried to contact this so called security expert was told to again contact the terminal manager.the terminal mngr started off by saying he couldnt prove the package had been picked up and maybe i was trying to run some sort of scam.i again spoke with the ups driver who stated again he had picked up the package but stated that due to the high volume of packages from the holiday rush he had done so as a favor for anothere driver who was behind and had failed to scan the package.his fellow driver refuses to talk about the subject, needless to say i lost and im guessing some ups driver will be enjoying my lil boat this summer.hope it sinks.pwj in junction

UPS in Kailua, Hawaii - Irresponsible

I received a package from Nordstrom today which I requested to be delivered to my residence. The package was delivered while we were home, but the driver left it outside not bothering to knock on the door to inform me that we had a package. Even though Nordstrom paid for the delivery service, I expect a courier company to ensure that the package was delivered properly, not left outsie for someone to come along and pick it up. Additionally, the tape on the box was cut off on one end. It's pretty obvious that a UPS employee looked inside to see what the contents were. UPS charges more than the post office, but I get better service from them. They are the worst courier company. I refuse to purchase products from companies that only use UPS. I will voice my complaint to Nordstrom, but from now on, I will opt to have my orders delivered to the store for pick up.

Then you need to revoke your front door waiver. You had to have signed one at some point to have packages left.

@LadyScot

No you do not, they can leave them at your door without knocking without your consent. They do it to me every time I order a package and have complained to the company on numerous occasion. They just don't care at all.

UPS in Wappingers Falls, New York - Forced to wait 18 hours

UPS changed my delivery date at the last minute, put the items on its truck at 6am, then did not deliver them. I was forced to wait at home fo 12 hours. Then I called and got a 2+ hour run around from them, in which they claimed that they could still meet their obligation if the packages were deliverd by midnight. I have never heard of such a claim and it was not disclosed in advance. Even when they eventually committed to a specific time for delivery, the driver didn't show. UPS claimed that it could not contact its own drivers and had no way of locating its trucks. How do this company stay in business when it treats its customers like this?

OMG you had to wait. Things happen.

What if the original driver had an accident and died? No delivery date with UPS is definite unless you pay for express overnight delivery.

Update by user Feb 07, 2013

After arguing with whomever I managed to get on the phone for 2 days, I wrote on UPS Facebook page. One of the PR dept.

employees contacted me, and listened to my story.

After further investigation, they accepted to send my package to Turkey for no cost to me. I am...

UPS "Adverse weather conditions"

I ordered a GPU from Newegg. The package took a while to ship, but once it did, it was expected to reach El Paso by the end of the day, January 07, 2013. It has reached El Paso. At 7:00 am, my package reached El Paso. Instead of shipping out, the package was delayed at 9:00 am due to "Adverse weather conditions." I looked out my window to see if a blizzard had sprung up while I was in school. It was a cloudy day and the snow from a few days before was almost completely gone. I don't know why they delayed delivering my package, but it certainly wasn't "Adverse weather conditions." I'm not losing money, but instead, time. My package was already delayed by Newegg, so this is only adding onto the experiences of a disappointed customer.

UPS in Romulus, Michigan - Bad delivery

Driver placed (3) parcels by side door, in snow, directly in front of door. Had to go out front door to get to the packages as the door would not open without knocking top parcels off. Did not knock or ring bell and I was sitting directly in front of picture window, next to front door - with larger, snow cleared porch - had I not seen truck leaving I would not have even looked out that door to get parcels after dark. I do realize that drivers are on a tight schedule but would have been much simpler to just come to front door - I was waiting for delivery and would have opened door by the time the driver arrived. I am 71 years old and am disgusted with the decrease in services - prices go up and quality of service decreases.

If you care about your money and sanity, and if you want the package you send to be actually delivered to the receiver with no ***, UPS should be the last company you should use.

The unprofessional conduct of business, disrespectful customer center employees, lazy delivery truck drivers who are too indolent to get out of their trucks to leave an info notice sticky notes on the recipients' doors, and delivery center managers who talk to you as if they are too busy to be bothered by you are just a few negative characteristics of this company.

I wrote a letter of complaint to UPS corporate headquarters, AND send an e-mail to their customer service just to get insulted. Going back to my main point, if you want to be treated with respect and get your money's worth, STAY AWAY FROM UPS.

Less drivers and more deliveries. Tight schedule about covers it.

UPS Idiots.

I ordered some items online through a huge mail order company. I had them ship the package 2nd day air. After 5 days of watching my package get further away from me, I called UPS. They told me it was shipped by ground service, and would be delivered today from the hub it was currently at, which was 200 miles away from my home address. Now they wont do anything to reimburse my shipping fees or get me my package, and of course you cant find someone with a brain in cust service. Apparently reading skills are not required to work at UPS.

UPS - Left delivery notice without ringing doorbell or processing the notice

I waited all day in my apartment for a package. In the last hour that the delivery could happen I go outside to wait for the truck and find a delivery notice. The driver obviously didn't ring my doorbell and didn't scan the package so I didn't get the updated tracking info. He didn't even activate the notice he left so I couldn't reroute the package because he apparently is going to deliver it first thing Monday while I will be at work. I call the UPS call center which takes 20 minutes on hold to reach someone instead of the 7 they projected. The woman who answered the phone didn't even try to explain what happened but said the package went out for delivery on Thursday (today is friday). Since I waited all day for the package instead going to pick it up myself today I will have to wait until tomorrow. They don't even have a way of taking complaints.
