UPS...you have some lazy people working

My husband works for the UPS twilight shift and has been at the hub for a great deal. Though he manages to keep two jobs (an 8-5, and a 5-9 at UPS) he is doing a great deal at UPS to keep busy and focus on loading boxes on the trucks. One thing that gets me though is the fact that some of the workers do a lot less and get the same pay as my husband, sometimes even more because of the higher "status" they have achieved (a.k.a seniority). Its frustrating sometimes to hear that my husband had to work harder since a person or people on his belt have/had been slacking off. Also, it seems as though drug testing seems slack, since my husband has worked on the twilight and midnight shift and he has continually seen many men get "high" before both shifts. I think that the lack of drug testing has caused many of the workers to become slack and thus there is a dire need to have a stronger stance on the use of drugs before work.

I am a female employee at ups. You can not be lazy if you work at ups.

Loading trucks is hard work . Lazy people quit the first week or two. Senority issues don't really matter to me except that you have to wait if you want a different position.

As for drug testing, I wish they would, but unfortunatelu that would wipe out the majority of people.

Your Husband has been there how long ?

When he has been there 15+ years, THEN we will see if he can keep up the pace he has now !

Lately UPS seems to be hiring more females in their ground hub. That is great and all, but it seems as though they are looking at a female's "hotness" before the female's "abilities" at the specified hub.

I think that its great to have diversity in the hubs but I have heard that there was more bias in the hubs to hire less males that are eligible and have the physical strength to lift the heavy boxes and hire more females that just could not hold and lift heavy boxes. Whereas I am not biased about women working in the physical labor field, it seems as though some of the people in their HR department are not showing an effort to hire the right people that are efficient for the job.

Again, I do not state that women should not work in this field; I know plenty that they can work in the air hubs and work with less heavy packages. But there should be an understanding that efficiency is the best priority for both hubs and ability should be the first and foremost in any company's hiring situations.

UPS in New York, New York - Still waiting

I left a signed info notice on my door so that the driver would leave my package. The driver just left another info notice instead of leaving the package...3 times! Every time I got another info notice I called UPS, and they guaranteed I would get it the next day. They also had me call the holding center, who also guaranteed I would get it the next day. I got these guarantees 4 days in a row. Package never came...I am still waiting. After all the phone calls and all the 'supervisors' I spoke to, no one could help me or wanted to actually do their jobs. Everyone was rude. They're not very bright either. I guess there is a reason they work at UPS.

If it is signature required, it means a signature in exchange for the package at the time of delivery.

A signed note is not sufficient.

Signed notes on the door will NOT work if the item has signature required. Is the item a signature delivery?? Have you filed claims for theft of packages?

UPS trains drivers to block people in and not care

I was at the bank today patiently waiting my turn to back out. I let a few other people go and then a UPS truck pulled in and stopped right behind me. I verbally ask the driver to move in a respectful manner and he didn't say anything. When I suggested that I call UPS and inform them how inconsiderate the driver in truck with the following plate sequence: GCA 846 was, he informed me that UPS had trained him to operate in this manner. I called UPS and they wanted to set me up for a call back. Seeing how I work in a call center I realized that she would only be setting me up to speak with an ETEAM or an Escalation team, for upset customers. I declined and decided to post my complaint here when I came across the site. The driver was delivering to Wells Fargo on Palm Bay Rd, Palm Bay Florida and was about 5'11 - 6'1 with blonde hair and a stocky build.

So you couldn't wait for just a few more minutes until he made his delivery. I'm sure it wouldn't have taken that long.

UPS does not ring the doorbell

They are so irresponsible that they claim the first attempt has been made but no one rang my door bell and I was home all day! My package had food in it. I was expecting that package to arrive with all my heart!!On top of all, when I called them, they asked me if I could collect the package myself from their center, the nerve on this company! It's their mistake! This caused me a lot of distress and it is no minor thing. No other delivery company did this before and I usually order a lot of things online.

UPS in Coquitlam, British Columbia - Bad customer service

UPS made one attempt to deliver while I was at work. I went on the website and requested it delivered "around" a certain time the next day. Tracked the package the next day and saw it was on hold? Called customer service, asked why hold, explained situation and was told someone there would call me back. No call. Waited at home , checked tracking again and saw it had departed and called again and they said it was on it's way.No package. Checked website again and saw it was sent to another location and was going to another city? What the heck happened there? Bad service, no idea why it went somewhere else? Given the runaround.

UPS in Tampa, Florida - Driver and common sense

I heard the driver back down my driveway with his truck, apx. 5pm I was in the garage waiting for the door bell to ring, then the next thing I heard truck pulling out! Went to the front door there sat 2 DAMAGED beyond belief boxes. Common sense would of said keep on the truck and take it back to the warehouse to go back to the compant I ordered from, instead HE LEFT the PACKAGES and RAN, He knew there would be no way I would of accepted these pkgs. Called UPS filed a report to p/u the pkg's but to get a hold of the DRIVER not to do something like this and they said they could't track down the driver to do that. Now WE PAID FOR SHIPPING AND MERCHANDISE, TO RECEIVE DAMAGE MERCHANDISE! Of course I have to re-order from Home Depot so now I get BILLED twice for the same stuff, then they have to inspect the pkg. to credit what they deem creditable! So do you really think I'll be doing that any time soon!

UPS Laziness and Lack of Customer Care

I ordered items to be delivered to my house and even paid for two day shipping so I would have these items sooner. After three business days I checked online to track my missing packages--there were three. All three had been noted with "attempted delivery" with the date of 12/28. I don't know how it was attempted, as I was home all day and no one even graced the dooryard, but I'm patient, I'd wait. By 1/4 I was concerned, but checked online. The only note for all 3 packages was "Held By Carrier." I tried to call UPS but could not get an answer as to why my packages were held of if I could pick them up. By 1/8 I was livid. I called UPS and was told that my packages were held due to "Emergency Conditions Beyond UPS' Control." I could go pick them up myself. I did, and thank goodness because today, 1/10, I received THREE notices saying if my packages were not picked up my 1/11 they would be returned to sender. Unfortunately, I work long hours and only received these notes after the UPS facility I would have had to pick them up at had closed! So having to work more long hours tomorrow how would I have been able to retrieve my items?! Moreover, what happened to the two day shipping I paid for?! UPS, you have some serious explaining to do and some serious customer service to attend to. Next time, I'm shipping FedEx.

Never use UPS

I am so upset with UPS. I could scream. I mailed a package to my son for Christmas and he never got it. I tracked and they said they delivered it. I called because he did not receive it. Then started my run around with me needing call all the places because my local store said they could not trace it till the manager came back after Christmas. Then told to call local UPS where my son lived then told he needed to call. They called him. This went on till I called to see about getting my money back then local store told me they got notification my son said he received the package. I said I know he did tell anyone that. Then told UPS does not lie. Then they wanted his number gave it and then told by UPS again they said he said he said he got it. Then I was told I needed to call all over to his store which I did not deal with or mail it from. Obviously customer satisfaction is not important nor honoring their insurance.

UPS - Unreliable Pathetic Service

They don't come until 6-7 PM and don't make an attempt to let you know that they have delivered a package. They have been leaving packages at the end of the driveway. We don't notice it until the next morning. The last delivery was on Christmas Eve. It was my mom's insulin that was left at the end of the driveway. It was wrapped in a big blue tape that said "REFRIGERATE". We didn't find it until the next day. I contacted UPS on Christmas day and received a message back saying that my complaint would be routed to the correct department. On 1/3 I sent another email stating that I had not received a response. On 1/4 I received a response back asking for the Tracking ID on the insulin box. Later that day, I received a response back stating that I would be receiving a phone call by the end of business on 1/7. Here it is almost 8PM on 1/9 and still have not received a phone call or response of any kind.

Lazy UPS dude

I would like to complaint about the lack of professionalism in one of UPS field-workers. He buzzes every time, falsely claims that the building gate doesn't open for him, which is working properly, and tries to call me down the stairs to get the packages which he is obligated to deliver to me. In addition, he once signed the packages "for" me and just dropped them in the hallway unattended. Because of this, I lost my two new-brought cellphones which at that time were worth about $400 for each pop. I went to his truck on the street and tried to ask for detail, he lied that packages were singed and received by the resident , yet in fact I was out on that day and nobody was at home at the time of delivery. Fortunately my neighbors saw the packages in the hallway, she picked them up and returned to me later of the day. This guy should be fired for his lack of integrity and professionalism.
