UPS status said it was delivered - Uhh NO

I have been home all day long with the flu. My Medifast delivery was out on the truck apparently at one point. My husband came home around 4:00 p.m. and and we were here all evening. I checked the status again at 7:15 p.m. and it then stated the package was delivered at 6:40 p.m. There was nothing at our door, and we looked everywhere outside our door. My husband went over to our neighbors and looked there too. Nothing. I called UPS and they said "well there's proof of delivery". So what EXACTLY does that mean? Their Rep was incredibly vague. I asked if we were here why didn't the driver ring our doorbell or knock on our door? She stated the drivers are not obligated to knock or ring the door bell!!!

a driver release is not the same as proof of delivery. the only proof is a signature.

call your vendor, tell them you didn't receive the package.

refuse to pay if they don't resolve the issue. they are the people that can apply pressure on ups, not you, you don't pay the ups invoice.

UPS in Groton, Connecticut - Terrible driver

my husband ordered me a plant for valentine's day. the package said for them to knock or ring the bell but they didn't do this. instead they left a note that said it was at the apartment office. I picked it up this morning. I also saw that someone else received flowers. The delivery driver never uses the call box to see if someone is home to receive the package. I have a 2 year old and can't always get to the office to pick up packages right away.i called ups and let them know about my situation. i didn't know it was my plant until i went to the office this morning.

Have you noticed that an overwhelming majority of participants who post complaints here have an extremely poor grasp of the English language?

Most messages here seem to be posted by people who lack any sense of what a coherent message is, post what amount to rants (as opposed to legitimate "complaints"), almost always show absolutely no understanding, concept or implementation of proper grammar, proper punctuation or correct spelling and generally appear extremely uneducated or display a reading level of that of a 7 year old.

It's my opinion that most of the problems these folks incur is a direct result of their own ignorance, be that as a result of not reading agreements or contracts (or simply not having the ability to read these documents) or suffering from the same lack of English retention and understanding they show right here posting their complaints.

I know this sounds like I'm bashing these people, but in reality, I find this very sad and quite alarming. One reason big business gets away with what they get away with is partly because (based on what I see here), people just aren't as intelligent or educated as they should be (or used to be?), and as such, are taken advantage of for more often and easier than, say, myself and other folks who took schooling much more seriously. It's quite evident that functional illiteracy is taking over as the norm in this country, and that's a scary thought, indeed! The "dumbing-down of America", has transgressed to the "dumb America", unfortunately. And those using "Ebonics" and/or "leet-speak" make matters even worse.

But in my opinion, the greater issue here isn't the use of such improper grammar, spelling and punctuation, it's the general acceptance of such. Our language is changing, certainly not for the better, and the results are before us. Uneducated people who cannot communicate a simple thought, who are underpaid, undervalued, probably overworked and obviously taken advantage of which creates a larger disparity among social circles are contributing to the economic downfall of our country. Intentionally ("Ebonics") or otherwise (acceptance of "leet speak"). The biggest problem in my opinion? When these types of messages are accepted as the norm, it hurts us all as a whole.

UPS in Colorado Springs, Colorado - Easton Stealth Bat was stolen

Purchased a bat online. Shipper mailed it through UPS. The shipping label reads box weighs 2lbs. The box itself is the original packaging. Waited 4 days to get it. It showed up last night. Door bell rang, knew it was our bat. Ran downstairs opened the door. Pick up the box. Yeah completely empty. The driver was already gone by the time I turned around to say anything. So the box. You can tell it was cut opened and re-taped. No bat. Called UPS within 10 mins of getting the package. Was told that a claims person would be contacting me by the end of next business day. Just got off the phone with Sheila. They are opting not to inspect the package. They will be contacting the shipper and refunding his money for the cost of mailing the package. Where we are out of a bat. When I question her in regards to the shipping label reading the weight, she rambled on about not being able to prove anything. I am so angry right now. Now we have to go through the hassle of trying to recoup our money. I mean the shipper did what they were supposed to do. So where does fault lie? Are they the shipper or UPS liable for refunding the cost of the bat? I think UPS is. So instead of UPS just admitting that one of their employees took it and repaying us for the cost of the bat. This is their way of getting out of paying us the receivers.

you are not entitled to anything from ups, you are not their customer, you paid them nothing. the shipper is their customer, and paid for the shipping, thus, they are the party entitled to payment of any refund or claim.

easy as that. you will have to get the shipper to refund you.

as to who is to blame. i would guess it's the shipper.

shippers are famous for poorly packing items they ship, including not enough tape. packages travel MILES of automated systems and conveyersn if a package opens in transit and the contents spill from the box it's not a theft, it's *** packing by the shipper.

How do you know the shipper put the bat in there? Prepaid labels are done on personal computers at home, and the shipper supplies the weight. Unless you saw someone from UPS steal the bat, your accusation is out of line, and can be claimed as libel in court.

UPS in Tulsa, Oklahoma - Not Honoring Insurance Claim

I packaged and shipped a microwave to a seller on eBay. A few days later the microwave shows back up on my porch. It has been completely trashed. It looked as if it fell out of a two-story window. The package was damaged midway in transit due to damage and returned to me. UPS has already initiated a claim for me and denied it. The reason they claim was because of inadequate packaging. They said the package should be strong enough to withstand falls. What is the point of insurance then? I do not know. In addition to refusing to pay the insurance which I purchased, they also charged me double to return the item to me. So now I am $50 in the hole with UPS fees and I have a useless, damaged item to show for it. The customer service was rude and kept trying to pass me off to different departments until I finally gave up. UPS is practicing legalized theft. I did not know it was acceptable to fail to render a service yet charge for it!

UPS - When you don't know, say so

Ordered a package and waited three days from the date the seller dropped it off at the UPS Store for the package to be scanned as received. Then the estimated delivery date was Feb. 12, which is 11 days after my package was dropped off at UPS. I ask off work so that I can be home to sign for said, expensive package. Then I get an email saying item would be delivered on Feb. 6. So I ask off Feb. 6 and cancel being off on Feb. 12. Then I get an email saying that there was an exception (with no explanation of what) so I log on and check the status and there isn't an exception listed but my delivery date changed to Feb. 7. So instead of asking for another day off I pay $5 to have the delivery address changed.. their system didn't recognize my credit card, yet they authorized four charges for the times it tried. When that finally got worked out I thought all was good. Check the status later and it says that Address Change has been Requested and doesn't provide a delivery date and the package is still in the city it shipped from days ago. So I phone and ask when I can expect my package and am told that UPS Ground doesn't offer an estimated delivery day only a target of 5 business days but could be several days longer or shorter than that. I asked why my package wasn't moving and I was told that it was and that it was in Minnesota. I told the agent that it is still in the city it shipped from. She disagrees and says that it is in transit and I had to explain that the city that shes telling me that my package is in IS a few miles away from the UPS Store it was dropped off at and therefore not really what I would consider in transit. I call and talk to a different person who tells me that by changing the delivery address that I added an additional day to the delivery and that my delivery date will be Feb. 8, tomorrow. When I asked how my package is going to get from Minnesota to Tennessee in less than 24 hours when it has taken 7 days to move from the UPS Store to the UPS distribution center a few miles away so could only assure me that she can't guarantee that my package will arrive tomorrow but it should be to the local UPS distribution center tomorrow.. but it may take a few business days depending on volume before my package will arrive. I receive 10 or so packages a week and most arrive with no problem which is how the process should work. I'm not going to call and say "Good job.. my package arrived on time and everything is wonderful." I'm going to call and say "Why is my package sitting in one place for a week?" UPS needs to train their agents to actually help when there is a problem rather than giving me vague answers and telling me that there isn't a way for them to know when my package will be leaving or arriving. Isn't that the ENTIRE point of UPS? Is no one capable of calling up the supervisor of the distribution center and saying "Find this guys package and put it on a truck already so he'll stop calling and emailing us"? And, and this is what really gets me.. if I am going to have to talk to someone in India that is in need of English pronunciation lessons, they SHOULD NOT be giving me a geography lesson as to the semantics of the term "in transit" a package that has moved less than 10 miles in a week is NOT in transit thank you very much.

First of all this complaint does not ring TRUE.Once a UPS truck hit my vehicle on the expressway. The driver got out of the truck and Stated he was so sorry for hitting my vehicle. The driver stated he was on his way in for the day and Did not see me next to him in the opposite lane. Before i even got home UPS had already telephoned me about the accident.UPS not only paid for my vehicle to be fixed. They also sent me a check also for not trying to SUE the company. This was an accident. And UPS was on top of this matter immediately. Thanks UPS FOR STANDING UP AND PAYING UP.If you work with UPS and THEIR INSURANCE COMPANY.They will WORK WITH YOU.But if you try to BEAT UPS or *** UPS YOU WILL LOSE BIG TIME.

UPS in Calgary, Alberta - Anonymous

Uncaring, unprofessional, lack of customer service, condescending attitude of the UPS delivery driver in South East Calgary, Alberta merely echoes the same characteristics of UPS, upon retrieving my parcel at a UPS Store. This *** would have his *** fired out the door in any other ligitimate business, but not UPS. He will probably get promoted! Oh well, live and learn. What should have been a simple hold for pick up, turned into a fiasco of repeat visits to the UPS Store, and then waited for an hour for the driver to appear. I will never use UPS again and will pass this sentiment on to anyone else that is thinking about using this incompetent joke of an outfit. Feb. 05/13)

Parcel not delivered, UPS Customer Service useless

To whom it may concern;I would like to fill in a complaint letter in regards of your service. I was expecting a parcel on friday 02/02/2013. I spent whole day in house waiting for delivery that never arrived. I tried to contact the customer service various times but have not received ANY support from them, just reading from the script that my package have not reported for more than 24 hours, and I cant contact anyone to check. They will not contact the driver or dispatch centre to track the parcel. Worst experience with the shipping company I ever had.
