Upset Customer

I will never again use UPS!.I was supposed to receive a package today 05/25/13 at 12:00 P.M. and it didn't arrive. I checked my tracking number and it was in Louisville Kentucky this morning. I called to find out where the package was and found out it was at the location in time but no one delivered it. There was no mistakes or anything. I paid good money to have this deliver to my address the next business day and I am mad as *** and think I should get a refund from UPS. would I waited around all day on this package even missing some valuable meeting and still no package'. Then after talking to two different supervisors I finally was told oh wait I have it right here in front of me". There was no explanation on why I didn't receive the package. While couldn't someone just call me and I would have gone into the *** office and pick my package up, now it won't be deliver until Tuesday and I really needed it before then, I will never ever do business with UPS again.

Did you pay the premium price for Saturday Delivery ?

If not, then there is no complaint, as the next business day is Tuesday

UPS in Houston, Texas - GUARANTEED DELIVERY? YEAH RIGHT...

I asked to have a package shipped by Friday before Memorial Day because it was a part for a motorcycle that needed to be on the bike for a Memorial Day race in which the rider could possibly win up to a 2 million dollar prize. They 'GUARANTEED' delivery by Friday. When the driver went to the door no one answered, so he took the package and put it back in the truck to be delivered on Tuesday AFTER Memorial Day. When I called customer service was rude (even hung up on me once) and then the supervisor said "sorry nothing we can do". Drivers have the discretion to leave the package or not. I said then that means you DON'T guarantee delivery on the date. They said "well technically that is correct." ***!

UPS in Toronto, Ontario - Unreasonable payment options and service

Don't choose UPS as your method of delivery. My package arrived at my door on Friday and they told me I needed to pay an extra fee of 10 dollars. I was not noted ahead of time by email or through their website. They do not accept cash. I asked for debit and the answer was still no. Being desperate for my package and asking her what kind of payment was accepted, she told me that they only accepted Credit or Cheque. Being a teenager of the year 2013, I obviously don't have cheques, and being a teenager I had no credit card. I was so sad because no one else was home to help me with the payment and my only option was to tell the lady take the package back and return on Monday which makes it 3 extra business days that I have to wait. Funny part of this story is that UPS doesn't accept Cash or Debit, but the pizza man around the corner does.... no one pays by cheque anymore and not everyone has a credit card.

Utterly Pathetic Service from UPS

3 days for parcel to travel first 15,000 km including customs clearance, 5 working days to travel the last 21km from the airport to the CBD. Rang to get the scheduled delivery brought forward to be told I had to wait my turn and they wouldn't deliver a day early. They then attempted to deliver a day early (no one in of course), rearranged for it to be delivered on the scheduled date. Stayed in on the scheduled date, the parcels didn't appear. Now missed the shipping dates for the goods. Great! I'm now instructing my supplier that unless they use another courier we won't be placing any further orders with them.

UPS - Disappointed.

After receiving notice of my delivery date on a package which required a signature I paid an extra $5 in shipping costs & joined UPS My Choice so I could reschedule the delivery of my package. I carefully followed the tracking & all was well as I had cancelled my appointments to be sure I was home all day to receive my delivery. After about 3 p.m. I got concerned & started trying to contact customer service. Good luck on that. The chat line finally became available around 7:30 & I was assured the driver was still out & my delivery would be here no matter how late. At 9:00 p.m. I checked my computer & they had changed the status of my package to "in transit". I called the customer service number & they reached out to the local distributor for that driver. Guess what? My package was not loaded on the truck that day. No apologies, just "You should get it tomorrow". Apparently, the part about me changing appointments to stay home & wait on this delivery was of no concern for anyone there. I then asked if they could, at least, give me an approximate time for the next day. In a word, no. UPS is fine if you do not need to sign for the package, it is not time-sensitive, & you care nothing about customer service should a problem arise.

UPS in Oakland, California - Time...Way of Travel....

UPS loves to waste time I see... They like to go in a big giant circle around the location before they get there. you really are not very bright, of course living in the swamp has probably not helped with your higher thinking skills.

think of it more like a pyramid or funnel shape...

packages go from local sort/delivery center to major hubs then travel to closest large hub to you then out to smaller local sort/delivery centers.

have you never flown? airline carriers operate similarly, ie. you can't fly direct from oakland to backwater, la either.

now go back to shooting gators, cooter.

UPS in Greenville, South Carolina - Customer Service?

I recently stopped into my Ups store # 3128 located in Seneca SC to pick up my mail. I have rented the same box in that location for about a year now. I’m not sure why, but there is a very passive aggressive employee that asks for my Identification and makes inappropriate requests for other information that is not essential for me to receive my mail. I’m not sure after being asked on four different occasions why my private affairs should concern “Allen the employee” in Seneca SC, but there must be a reason. Right? I hope the individual can get some help. i for one will be taking my needs elswhere.

UPS' only delivery was horrible customer service

Package tracking shows delivery was on-time today. I get home from work and I have received two other items I ordered, but not the big box I am expecting. I call the UPS 800 number to see where my shipment is, and make sure they understand I will be out of town. I am told the item should be delivered today. Sometimes more than one truck will be dispatched to a residential area. Time passes while I attend to daily life so I call back around 10pm. I inform them that the package still hasn't arrived and ask about Saturday delivery options as, like I said earlier, I will be out of town soon.They person puts me on hold to checks their system, status, or some other BS and tells me that package delivery can occasionally run as late as 11-12pm. Please call back at 11pm if there is still no delivery and the package can be expedited. Lo, and behold, 11pm arrives without a package in sight. I call back and explain my predicament again, where I am told I am being transferred to a *** for the department that can set up the Saturday shipment. 3 minutes later the line goes dead. No, it wasn't my cell phone. They just hung up on me. On a whim, I check the tracking page around 1130 and the status is now "In Transit." Still, I call back as I have been told twice now that a Saturday delivery is possible. It was just more wasted breath. The last person I spoke with said there is no possible way to arrange for Saturday delivery or pick-up, and refused to let me speak with a supervisor. It wasn't until the end that I was told they could hold it at the facility! All the prior people said I should call the shipper to have them send another shipment to an alternate destination. They are more than willing to shift blame and responsibility anywhere in an effort to further *** off the people who are expecting them to simply do their jobs as promised. With Disgust, SMB

UPS IS ALL ABOUT MONEY AND NO LONGER SERVICE ?

UPS Man throws my box from the yard does not ring the bell or knock then walks across my yard again. He never uses the sidewalk and even though we are almost always home never lets us know he has even been here and left a package. What happened to the service in united parcel service. They use to be great, now they are by far the worst delivery company out there. I will request alternate shippers evry time from now on , this company is rude and does not care about the customer. Its evident from the drivers to the customer service. The whole company is totally different and is a mere shadow of what it use to be. I hope other people will join me in boycotting their service. Just say no to Ups and request usps or fed ex.

Try FedEX. They are non-union and thus more responsible.

UPS Web Service -> Rip off alert?

Update by user Jun 11, 2013

UPS did respond to my complant and credited my account for the contested upcharges. I am happy with that and have since adjusted my dimension-measuring approach so it does not happen again. Thanks to all who provided perspective on this.

Original review posted by user May 11, 2013

Just received a nice note from UPS indicating that after auditing the dimensions of two boxes I shipped they were adding a surcharge of $21.44 to my Paypal account for being off by 1 inch in the box size dimensions I entered for two boxes. Both boxes were standard off-the-shelf U-Haul electronics boxes packed normally - 20 x 20 x 12. The UPS store I dropped them off at has a chance to measure them again as I dropped them of and confirmed dimensions. Now I get this "FYI" adjustment to my Paypal account of $21.44 - with no recourse as the boxes already arrived at their destination and cannot be remeasured (not does UPS offer a clear path to do that if I wanted to). So I am stopping use UPS and switching to FedEx, USPS etc. BE CAREFUL if you use the UPS web service to print shipping labels - it appears they have a profit center going based on "auditing" the shipments and claiming different dimensions than what you entered. If you use UPS, do so from a UPS store - if they see a home-printed label they will tag the box for auditing.

20x20x12 = inner dimensions

21x21x13 = outer dimensions

Dark_Shaft

box dimensions are most generally the INSIDE dimensions. if you actually measure a box that has been properly packed you will notice the thickness and slight bulge of packing have increased the size by as much as an inch.

a 20 x 20 x 12 box lies right at the edge of dimensional weight, once you take into account the exterior size you are most likely to get a bump.

btw, ALL carriers use the same system for shipping. yes fedex and the post office too. to avoid a charge later on use the correct size and weight...or use a shipping location like the ups store and pay the correct price at the time of shipment.
