UPS in Calgary, Alberta - Lost package and generally horrible service

Ordered a package from camping world. After a few I phoned them, and every time I called I received a different excuse about the status of my produce- ex - the first call -camping world did not deliver the package to UPS (obviously a lie since we had the UPS tracking no.). The second call resulted in the second answer - it is hung up in customs - this was after 3 weeks. I had Camping World put in a claim for the package. The only call received from UPs was whether I received the package? No apologies Nothing. Reordered the package and paid the custom fees by phone in advance. They said they would inform the depot and a confirmation call would be made. No call of course, and asked them again to notify the local depot so I did not have to leave a check taped to the door. No call again the drive then shows up asking for duty fees. This company should not be in business. They are horrible in customer service

UPS online services

Be very careful using their website. To be on the safe side, if you don't ship pkgs often, just call and talk to a live person so you can avoid my "mistake". They told me that I had only created a shipment; that I hadn't arranged for a pick-up. I know that I selected a time of day window for the driver; selected 'where' to find the packages using a drop-down menu. And, worst of all, the receipt that I printed said that "service was guaranteed by end of day" ON the date I had arranged to have the pick up occur!? They told me that that date would have been my guaranteed delivery date, "had you created a pick up order". We took the boxes to the United States Post Office AND paid $100 less than UPS was going to charge us...for the "convenience" of picking the packages up at my house.

UPS destroys damaged package

I paid the UPS Store in Norfolk, VA to pack a HP Color laser fax scan copier printer I sold on EBay. The package was damaged in shipping due to insufficient packing. When the customer received the package, all the doors and hinges were opened dislodged, and full of peanut bubbles. The customer could not get the back door to close. (It was jammed with the bubbles). I spent two hours on the phone trying to help the customer close the back door. ( I had two of these printers so we compared the back of the printer trying to figure it out. Eventually the customer got the back door closed but was unable to print. The customer sent pictures of the damaged package before opening and what he found inside. I submitted a damage claim and my printer was picked up and inspected. UPS Determined the box used to ship was too weak, the peanut bubbles used to protect we're not adequate for a 65 pound printer, and the printer should have been suspended. My printer was returned. However the printer that was returned to me was extremely damaged. The back of the printer was busted up, the primer was deeply scratched. In essence my damage printer was destroyed byUPS and returned to me for disposal. The initial damage was superficial(foreign objects lodged in the openings. The returned printer was destroyed) the customer who purchased the printer wanted it even with the damage, he just could not get it to print( he did not clean out all the peanut bubbles. He spent hours at the back of the printer trying to close the door, yet he never noticed the printer was cracked and bent. I contacted the customer when I received the printer and he confirmed there where no cracks, dents, physical damage to the printer he received and returned. The pictures he took confirms this. Two days after the damage inspection, I received a call from a company called Crawford. The employee said she had called to tell me UPS would be calling me on the morrow and that my printer had been shipped back to me. I started asking questions about my claim. The employee nastily informed me that she did not work for UPS. She said her company was just a third party vendor with UPS. She said she could not give me any information about my damage claim. She said she did not know anything, she just had a message to call me and notify me that I would be receiving a call and the return of my printer. I asked to speak with someone who could assist me, I asked for a supervisor and was refused. When the call ended, I called UPS. I was informed that UPS had determined my package had been damaged because of packing. I told the agent I had paid UPS to pack the printer. I told the employee about the Crawford employee and was informed that Crawford was the company UPS used to handle damage claims. When I asked why I was not informed about the claim, I was told that her system showed someone from UPS had noted my account stated that I had been informed that my claim had been denied ( I later was informed this was done by the Crawford employee) The employee said my claim had been denied. I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor said the only thing he could do was put in a dispute about my claim. He told me the UPS store was the company I needed to talk to. He said the UPS Store was not UPS. Two hours later while I was out, my package was returned. I have never seen such a site. If UPS had left it on the sidewalk it would easily have been mistaken for trash. I took pictures and called UPS. I called because the bottom of the printer was exposed and sitting on the porch. I did not open the package, I called UPS. This time the transferred me to claims. I told them I wanted to enter a second damage claim. I explained the condition of my package. It was not in a box. They wrapped cardboard around it leaving areas exposed. There where about 20-30 peanut bubbles in the mess and two mini bubble packs, the kind used to cushion a cell phone. At the time I still didn't know the printer had been cracked, busted, dented, and scratched. The supervisor informed me my dispute of the results of my second damage had been denied ( less than 2 hour turn around). He said the only thing he could do was contact Crawford about their employee who I had spoken to earlier. I told the supervisor I felt UPS had taken poor care of my damaged printer explaining how the packaged looked. I also complained that the had not communicated their findings. I called the UPS stored and informed them of UPS determination. I asked for a manager and was told the manager was gone for the day but that she would call on the following day. The manager never called. I called back several times and visited the store only to be told the manager had gone for the day. I called the UPS STORE corporate office and was told that their packing guarantee only applies when I pay them the shipping charges. I was told that since I had an account with UPS she did not know. I paid for packing by expert packers and was guaranteed safe delivery or UPS would be liable. The employee said she would send a message to the store. Meanwhile I removed the cardboard from the printer and was shocked. The printer was cracked, dented, busted, and scratched. No doors or hinges were open but the printer was ruined . The printer was 4 months old I paid $700 for the printer. The original damage caused by the UPS store could have been repaired. However, since my package was already damaged. UPS took it upon itself to finish the job by destroying my printer. The only thing UPS failed to do was properly dispose of the printer. The only thing I can get from UPS is that they are not responsible for the actions of its vendors or franchises. Where does it stop? Companies like the UPS store would not be in business except for the fact that the have the UPS BRAND NAME. UPS may not be liable, but surely UPS has a high level of responsibility. UPS sells it brand name to incompetent franchises. There has to be guidelines and accountability. I find it amazing that the UPS store does not have and use UPS packing requirements and guidelines. Yet these stores advertise they are UPS expert packers. My package was destroyed after it was damaged. It's like taking your car to the mechanic to get the tire repaired. The mechanic realizes you have a oil leak, a bad oil leak. Instead if returning the car as it was, the mechanic sells your parts because it has an oil leak. The mechanic is in the wrong. Just because my printer was lightly damage. Should not and did not give UPS, its employees, and/ or its third party vendors the right to neglect, abuse, and ultimately destroy my property. I could continue about all the bad information I have received from UPS and the poor poor service I have been subject too. But what I've written should suffice. It's time to find a new shipper.

UPS in Dallas, Texas - They don't just throw boxes

I had a very important financial document shipped UPS next day which I paid my financial company a $25.00 premium fee. A UPS man came to my door on the correct day but said he tore the truck apart but could not find it. He said it must be on the other truck which would come soon. Guess what it never came. I checked the automated tracking and it gave no information where the parcel was. I called customer service and they said the local office was closed on Saturday and I should wait until Monday. I explained the important nature of getting that document. Sorry but we can not help you. UPS stands for Ultimately Poor Service.

Saturday is not a regular business day. ONLY packages with a special Saturday service fee are delivered that day.

Fedex Express is the same.

Your shipper would haave had to select that service when they shipped it or the delivery will take place on Monday. It's unfortunate that your vendor made a mistake.

UPS deliver without authorization

I have a Target furniture order that I'm unable to pickup due to a weightlifting restriction. UPS won't deliver because the driver doesn't think he should leave the delivery on the porch EVEN THOUGH the same item was left on my porch by a different driver a month ago and EVEN THOUGH I confirmed with Target that Target doesn't require a signature. The driver would like me to leave a note on my door saying I'll be gone for three days and he should leave the package. This is a safer option then leaving the package on my porch?!

UPS in Kankakee, Illinois - Unhappy

UPS delivery truck showed up so opened my door to get my dog... All I hear is swearing... Then a bunch of noise then the box being tossed out of truck into the ground... Mind u it was heavy so not picked up and tossed.... Then the box broke open the driver put it on a dolly brings it up my sidewalk to my steps says I don't know where you want this moved it off the dolly and let's it fall back and walk away saying the f ing *** they ship among other words and peeled out of my gravel driveway.. Got a call from someone at the local store after making a complaint let them know what happened to getting a call later from the store saying they talked to the driver and he said he had dropped it on his foot and didnt realize I could hear him... Really!!!!!!

UPS in Fayetteville, Georgia - Horrible Customer Service!

I sold a TV and sent it through UPS. The TV was brand new and still in the original packaging. The driver dropped the TV when delivering it. Now the customer that bought the TV is pissed and sent the TV back. I have to pay him back. They have sent me around the corner and back trying to make it my fault why the TV got cracked and dented. This was a $800 TV and I paid them $150 to ship it. Now they are telling me that "they can't help me". I have never experienced this before in my life. I spoke with someone name Giselle and she was completely rude to me. Her direct number is 1-800-789-4623 ext 4623. She had an attitude and continue to make excuses as to why it was my fault that they dropped the TV. This is ridiculous. I will NEVER ship through them again.

UPS in Spartanburg, South Carolina - Terrible customer service!

I have quarterly deliveries that require a signature. Each time, I have to go in and spend an hour fighting with the website to get the delivery left at will call. I have an account, I have My Choice, but its always a nightmare. Today, I gave up and did an online chat to ask them to please send it to will call before it was returned (2 days of trying to get it re-directed). The chat contact tells me.."Well, I will re-direct this one, but in the future you just need to refer to My Choice on the website and handle it on your own.." Really? If it worked, I would have! I tell her that I do this a good bit, and I am not a ***, but it wasn't working and there was no option for will call - it just kept taking you around in circles. I get back "OK". Horrible service, both via technology and a real person!

UPS in London, England - Terrible experience

I had initially set my UPS pickup time to 9am-2pm. Since nobody came, at 2pm I called them and they said that the pickup time was actually 9am-4pm. But I had kept the collection request that mentioned 9-2. Then they said that the time had been amended by the office and that they should have contacted me to let me know. When I called again later it was another story: the driver was running late. At 4:01pm I called again and was told that the driver had come to my place at 4pm and that nobody was there. I told them that it was presently 4pm and that I hadn’t moved all day. They sent a message to the centre and told me that the centre would call me within one hour. UPS Camden called and told me that the driver came to my place at 4pm but that the parcel was not ready (new story). They told me that they would try to find another driver in the neighbourhood and call me back within 15 minutes. They did to tell me that no driver was in the neighbourhood. They offered me to rearrange a collection for the next day but I refused and said that I would rather walk to Fulham Road to drop it myself straight away. They told me that they would investigate the driver’s GPS and that if he had lied they would take measures and call me the next morning to let me know the outcome. Since I received no call, I called them again the next day at 12:15 and asked them to send a message to UPS Camden to ask them to call me. But nobody called me.

UPS in Toronto, Ontario - Damaged package

Ordered $400 worth of protein powder. Package arrived damaged and protein powder coated everything. Contacted company that I ordered from which in turn contacted UPS. The company I contacted submitted a claim on my behalf for $135 and UPS only offered to refund $58. It took them a couple of weeks to process the claim. They didn't offer anything to make up for the inconvenience. UPS is a waste of time and a *** company. I'm considering just buying protein powder from Walmart because although the price is higher it's much easier than UPS scamming me out of money when they screwed up.

Ups didn't "scam" you out of anything, your vendor did.

Declared value coverage is only payable to the shipper (your vendor).

By the sounds of it, your vendor didn't package your items well enough. My guess is there was not any bubble wrap nor sufficient loosefill to support the weight of the (generally) heavy buld powder, and, obviously the powder wasn't in a bag to capture the substance when in illpacked packaging broke. You can only blame your vendor for that.

What a reputable vendor would/should do is send you another order or refund your money in full and deal with the claims process with ups, not put you in the middle of resolving their ppisss poor packaging and claim.
