UPS slow delivery service.
I ordered some computer equipment over the internet several days ago. It's on the weekend of course, i have the tracking number & the expected arrival of my package is sometime today (1.11.12) Well according to the tracking number they received my package & put it on the truck already at 5am. Well it should be expected that i get it somewhere around 12pm but it's past that & i know it won't get here until 530pm. Well i have to work. So if i can't get my package today i'll have to wait til tomorrow, but it's supposed to snow tomorrow & i don't really want to deal with the snow. Of course there is nothing on the website or on phone to allow a pickup before the arrival so they end up taking all day just to get here. I know they have other deliveries to make, but this is pretty ridiculous especially since i live only 10 minutes from there. The point is i prefer to have an option on whether or not i could come in to grab my package or have it delivered if i know i will be home during that time. But they don't even give a decent time frame. "Oh it could be delivered anywhere from 9am to 6pm (sometimes later)". That isn't a decent time frame. How is someone supposed to sit & wait for that long just so they can have their sensitive equipment that requires a signature? I'm battling on whether or not i should stay home to see if my package will be delivered, if i do i lose hours at work. If i don't i may have to drive in the snow tomorrow. As most other consumers want, we want a time frame so we can plan ahead. And i don't like the idea of my package just sitting there taking all day just to get to my house, especially when i live 10 minutes away!! It's like they're going out of state just to make a delivery then head towards another state to make another one. I often wonder if the driver even knows where he is going. It's one thing if the package came in the afternoon & i get it in the evening but when they got it early in the morning & already being driven off the warehouse 10 minutes from my home & they end up taking 14 hours just to arrive to my location is ridiculous.

UPS
I ordered my school books 3 weeks prior to the day of the winter semester, and I was told they would ship through UPS and be about 7-10 business days. That is not a problem. But I suppose that UPS thinks I will sit around all day and wait for them to bring my packages. After the 2nd attempt, I called and requested that the agent leave a message for the driver to leave it with my apartment complex's leasing office if they arrived between 4 and 5 because I work everyday at 4 and my roommate isn't home until about 5:15. The woman informed me that she could not do that. After the 3rd attempt, UPS sent my books back to the sender. When I called to complain, a 2nd agent told me something completely different than the first; she asked me why I hadn't left specific instructions! When I called the next day and requested to speak with a supervisor, I was told that my situation was out of their control and that I needed to contact the sender (Chegg). It was now Saturday, and Chegg is closed on Saturday's aside from their "emergency" email. So, I emailed Chegg about the situation, and they were gracious enough to resend a brand new order so that I could get my books on time (or so they hoped). Once again, I called UPS. I requested to leave the delivery instructions, and the employee told me that they had it in there. Chegg had split my delivery between FedEx and UPS this time around, and the FedEx portion came early Tuesday morning, but there was still nothing from UPS. Fed up with the UPS phone service, I tried their live chat. I was connected with Diego G and relayed my situation to him. Then, I asked him to simply double check to make sure that the delivery instructions were still in the packages details. He told me that it was not possible to add delivery instructions, and that it was the "driver's discretion" whether to leave the package or not............... I then requested to be called by a manager, and he took my information and told me I would recieve a call within the hour. Seven hours have passed..... still no call. Not impressed at all! FedEx is the way to go!

UPS really steps on me
Almost every package I received through UPS, since I am home-bound and do a lot of online shopping; when it gets here it is wet if it's rainy or snowy and there is a boot print on the package. Usually when they do this they WILL knock on the door and tell whoever answers "good luck" and then just walks away! I was going to write to the company but after seeing all the complaints it would be like spitting into the wind. How do we get them to stop what they are doing? I know just writing a complaint is not going to change how they do business.

LOST UPS
Waited ALL DAY for pkg - no show! Rearranged my apptmts for the day to wait for delivery. *** DRIVER was BLIND and he couldn't READ the name clearly printed on label above doorbell! He didn't have the COMMON sense to ring the door bell by default - only two doorbells on house! What type of incompentent imbeciles are they hiring these days? Give me the job and I'll show you how to deliver pkgs! Tmrw have to wait for local supervisor to call me, I don't want to talk - deliver the pkg I've paid for! Our waiting at home time is not valued by this company, we have errands to run, appointments to keep etc etc. How difficult is it deliver pkgs these days, with all the technology available to them?

UPS Driver Killed my Dog
I live on a small farm in SE North Carolina. My driveway is about ¼ mile long to my house. Behind the house, approximately 1/8 mile is a hay barn. On Thursday, December 22, 2011, at approximately 5:15PM I walked to the barn to feed my horses and was accompanied by 5...

The same thing happened to our family today 1/28/16. UPS driver came up our private road and ran over our small white dig.
Did not stop - Neighbor saw it - called wife and she rushed home only to have the dog die in her arms.
UPD driver denied it was he that hit the dog and UPS supervisors were aggressively defensive.

UPS-Short on Logistics and Customer Service, Long on Incompetence
On December 23, 2011, my repaired TV shipped from Parsippany, NJ. Destination: New York City, all of 30 miles away. Indeed it arrived at UPS in NYC on December 24, but rather than making it onto a local truck for delivery to my apartment, it was sent on a vacation to Indianapolis, IN, over 600 miles away. On December 29, it departed Indianapolis for Secaucus, NJ; on December 30 it arrived in Secaucus only to be sent back to Indianapolis. On January 4, 2012, it left Indianapolis again for Secaucus. I spoke to a customer service rep on January 4 after returning home from my holiday trip and finding that my TV hadn't been delivered. I was assured by a customer service rep that I would receive the package by end of the day on January 6. Late on January 5, the website tracking system changed the status of my package to unknown delivery. I called again and was told I might receive the package on January 9. The rep said there had been a problem routing the package but nobody knew about the problem until I called. (Huh??? A logistics company couldn't notice that this package had become a ping-pong ball?) After a considerable amount of time being placed on hold on January 6, I learned that the package was physically located in Secaucus. Unfortunately, because I called, the package has been intercepted and it cannot be delivered. One hour ago, I received an email from UPS saying they cannot assist me further--yes, I have this in writing! Loving to bang my head against a brick wall, I phoned moments ago to talk to a live rep. She confirmed that my problem ain't their problem. Goodnight sucker! Take it up with the shipper. I've had it! I will never ship with UPS, and I will never purchase from or do business with a merchant that has an exclusive shipping arrangement with UPS.

The gal just stated it is out of my control and when I requested the item be shipped overnight she said we cannot do this now. No were are sorry or anything. They said it was miss sorted. How does something that says Daly City Ca. end up in Horegam PA. Pay the extra and go Fedex. We should have. Learned our lesson. Thatnks UPS. See YA

UPS - They confirmed YESTERDAY that they would deliver TODAY..
For some reason a package we have been waiting for has not been delivered to us but we received notice that they tried to deliver on 3 occasions (we have not heard times or dates though). We called in and they said that they would deliver it to us the next day so someone juggled their schedule around and stayed home for that block of time and of course their wait was in vain.. Now, someone else needs to juggle their schedule to wait for this delivery again..?? We all have jobs - where we actually get things done properly. What kind of service is that!?

Very slow delivery
One package was out for delivery Dec 19,2011. I received it Jan 2,2012. Another was perishable fruit with a guaranteed Dec 25th delivery. I received it Jan 3,2012. I go and meet my driver, but with UPS's new Gps system it is out of my drivers hands,he doesn't have a choice about it,he has always provided great service but it seems UPs has reached its peak and will go down from here.I live in a rural area and we can't wait 2 weeks for a well pump,or car parts we need them ASAP,UPS get your act together or some other service will take your business,YOU SHOULD CARE!!!

Ups driver scott hanging out at james island s.c. office hoping to score
scott leans on office doorframes and chats with anyone who will waste time with him.[only women work here] constantly complains about his experience with ups and his distaste of ups. has already been confronted by his superiors who don't seem to care. not the ups ethics i've always known. he is married but still acts single. bet his wife would like to seem him in action! this is occuring every day he shows up here. seems like ups would have issuess with him,i was told by his supervisor that he is ju st overly friendly.seems like a punch in the mouth would be the next step for him

UPS Guaranteed delivery is NOT guaranteed
I paid for 3 day guaranteed delivery for a package that I mailed on 12/16/11. On 12/27/11 I received a phone call that the packed was damaged in route and would be returned to the Shipper's location. I picked up my re-box package on 1/3/12 and was promptly told that an internal claim regarding the damage had already been opened and denied. I was also informed that they don't refund shipping costs, even if it doesn't get shipped. I will never use UPS again and every chance I get, I will give negative press to anyone who will listen.

Intentional Delays
My company shuts down for a week during Christmas, so figuring I had time to do work around the house I ordered three items for delivering during this time. All companies choosing UPS to ship, they all arrive at Santa Fe NM and show via tracking the packages are out for delivery. Wait at home and no package. So I finally called and UPS told me you will have to wait till next week to get your packages as we aren't going to deliver until1/3/2012. So UPS is sitting on the packages even ones which were second day air and told me tough. I told them I won't be home then and they didn't respond, just put me hold. So now I'll have packages sitting o n my porch for week. I hate this company. I have many times before sent late delivered packages back to the shipper. A true example of the "Power of Brown" or we have your money and we don't care about the real customer, the person who buys the merchandise.

UPS
You are absolutely correct. My package arrived in OMaha (according to UPS records) on Wed before TKX.
but it is hold to be delivered late Monday.
From East of Omaha to West 5 days. I believe it is world record.
Stuck in traffic ,,, not to worry ,, you just found your package,,, your most likley behind a big brown UPS Turd Still trying to make last weeks deliverys , basicly the rush order for moms new life support systems...
like blah said mychoice. its just that it gives you the choice to pick up your pkg or even get a 2 hour confirmed window of delivery.
maybe doing that would have been a better use of your time than waiting at home all day and writing this. www.ups.com/mychoice
True, but they don't really do much either. The UPS in my area can give me a proper time frame & they're FAR much more helpful then the people at the 800 number.
It's not my fault the UPS doesn't give out the location numbers so THE LOCATIONS could give me a better time estimate too.
I had to dig around on the internet just to find the number. So the next time i need to use UPS i'll let my location know if i'm going to need to pick up the package a day or 2 before it arrives if necessary.
You can pick up your package if it's not already on a car but once it has left the center there is no way to 'pick it up' as it won't be back to the center until the end of the day. So either plan ahead or wait for the delivery, both are on you.
And as an fyi, you can get through on the 800 line if you press 0, then press 0 again, magically a person answers.
It was a 2 day. Well i realized i should have called the UPS in my area ahead of time (by at least a day) & the 800 number is useless & won't let you do anything other then listen to where your package is.
or ups my choice...go to the website
You can get your packages delivered in a time frame if you want it just needs to be shipped priority next day which will cost you five or eight times the amount of regular shipping. You get what you pay for.
