Ups weather delay BS

I shipped two suitcases from St. Joseph Mi. To Telluride Co via two day air I was charged $263.30 for one bag and $276.89 for the other. When I arrived at my hotel my luggage was not there. I contact UPS customer service and was told that it was a weather delay that occurred at Denver airport, the real kicker is I landed at Denver airport at the same time they told me that my luggage shipped via UPS was delayed by weather. It was raining but my flight was on time.. I contacted UPS and was told they don't control the weather. These are the people that actively advertise this service. Maybe they should use my money to help pay for some small print on the TV adds

We rented motorcycles in Denver to ride no room for luggage, doe of our rain gear was shipped ... That's the reason I'm unhappy

The airline would have charged more than the $500+ for baggage fees? Never realized they were soaking customers much!

UPS in Montreal, Quebec - Excessive Fees and Rotten Service

I ordered an item on E-Bay with total value of 24.99.I asked seller to ship cheapest and was told it was by UPS for an amount of 28.00 for Standard Int'l Shipping.I agreed and parcel was sent.During first delivery attempt I wasn't at home so I managed to stay home during second delivery attempt the following day.I waited all day until almost 4 pm when I noticed there was a sticker marked second delivery attempt that had just been posted few minutes earlier.I was waiting for my buzzer to ring to open door and never did it ring. For sure the guy just touched the button without pressing it and was on his way.Anyway I called and explained to customer service who had the local UPS store call me telling me they were sorry for the error and that as much as possible another attempt would be made following morning before 10 am.I waited almost entire day again ,missing important appointment. When I called to ask whereabouts of my parcel I was told that it would be delivered before 7 pm.Really terrific service.I lose two full days awaiting delivery. As if this weren't enough I was charged 23.78 brokerage fees on an item with total value of 24.99,practically 100% same.if this isn't highway robbery, what is it? I paid 28.00 for standard shipping plus brokerage fees of 23.78 for a total of 51.78 on an item worth 24.99.All I can say is I am 200% dissatisfied with UPS.I don't mind paying but there are limits, and this exceeds big time!

The Canadian government are a greedy bunch of thieving *** The fees are basically robbery.

This is what government gets you, ***, incompetent EXPENSIVE service and corruption.

You can't blame UPS for the brokerage fees that CUSTOMS charges!! and if you think $28 is expensive for shipping internationally, you are 100% out of your mind.

Anonymous
#715441

Brokerage fee is a cost to process the shipment through Customs.

UPS didn't just decide to charge more.

@bill

For your information I paid 28.00 to ship a pr of boots of 25.00 not incl brokerage fees,my parcel was delivered at end of day,and I was told by driver that the reason my parcel was delivered last in day was because I had standard delivery so that goes last and at end of day,how much am I suppose to pay for first of day or middle of day delivery on 25.00 item,$100.00 or more, get a life! You must work for them.

Yes, that's how shipping (as well as everything) works!!! If you want something done faster you must pay more!!!

They have people that pay more for priority so they get it before you. Highway robbery, please! Customs might be robbing you, but it's not UPS.

You are cheap and want everything for free. Don't blame UPS because of your cheapness.

UPS Delivery Methods

My complaint certainly isn't as serious as some, but nonetheless I am livid with UPS. I don't understand why UPS delivers soooo late in the day! I was home all day and they delivered at 8:30 pm, at the one time I was out for the day. And without my knowledge, they wouldn't just leave the package. Which means I am going to lose a whole other day waiting on UPS to deliver things I need for my business. And the hoops I had to jump through to figure out how to authorize them to leave a package, my gosh. I had to open an account with UPS and then open a My UPS Choice account. It's ridiculous! And apparently it takes a whole day to process a request for them to hold the package so I can pick it up, which doesn't help at all!

The Drivers do what they can.

Drivers have routes you know. Your the last stop apparently on the route. Call the terminal in the morning and tell them you are expecting a package and hold it for pickup.

UPS- I dislike you very much!

I was expecting a package on Friday. I got home to find an invoice sticker on my door requesting signature. On Monday, I signed it and left it on my door. When I got home, had another sticker invoice next to my 1st one saying they needed signature. Called customer 1-800 #. Talked to "surpervisor" and was told that the only option I had was to drive the 40min drive to my local office for pick-up, or stay home from work all day waiting on my package because they refuse to leave it at my door even though I gave them permission to. I got no where and have no clue if I'll ever get my package.

Signature in person, posession of the package is then transferred to the recipient.

That is what the shipper required, and what UPS has to honor.

My company is a large distributor, and for over a year we have been going back and forth with UPS with my merhcandise being stolen/lost. Currently dealing with one claim for $4500 and still waiting for the response on another claim for $3500. And still have not spoken to a Rep since March/2014!!!! On top of that the REP for the claim service lost my paper work and tried to play it off like I never sent it to her and had the nerve to get and attitude with me. Never in my Years have I dealt with such terrible service!

I can relate to your situation. You should report them to Consumers Affairs and the Attorney General's office - this should at least "shake" them up!

Keep a long of names, date and times of all communications with anyone you speak with re: this from UPS

Three different packages over 7 years- always the same response- you did not use enough protection packaging- the latest package was shipped in the DELL FACTORY box. Still they denied the payment - and to make matters worse they said the box was destroyed so they just threw away?? I must be the village *** here- tried going up the ladder of administration - each said they would send paper work to file a claim - never received - they hope you will forget??? Let me see if i get this straight in my mind? You wont pay the claim ? and you wont give me the contents? and - You wont pay the claim ? wow should have read the internet complaints and not waisted my time

In response to the person that said we never pack correctly? I understand what you are saying and agree..

We are an international shipper - usually 7 - 15 shipments per day. In 33 years only 3 boxes have have an insurance claim filed--- all were denied- Believe me when I say they were packed well- the one in question now - was in the approved manufacturers shipping box and then added an extra larger box with shipping noodles to ptotect- UPS said this was not packed well- they say box was destroyed and they could not return- so how am I to prove the evidence they are saying? still they wont pay the claim- UPS disgruntled employee?

Nope these people that deliver/ pickup here are on a first name basis.. They are just telling us what they have seen over these many years

You people are cheap and don't know how to pack things. That is why claims are denied.

If you go to a UPS Store they ask to repack it to ensure it will arrive or your money back for a replacement item. It probably costs $5 to repack it in a new box, but you refuse. The original packaging is not properly packed. Factory packaging is to make it from the store to your car, and from your car to your house.

Not to be shipped along with millions of other packages. Ps, before I get a dozen replies saying "I am just a disgruntled UPS employee!" I am not a current, former, nor future UPS employee!

Nick most of the time you are right- kindly read my addition in the actual blog - Know that by factory packaging I would mean the factory shipping container- example - a Dell computer shipped to you with molded styrofoam etc....read again what I posted

Unbelievable!

Several of our family members have also had problems in the last few years. Regardless of the story they don't feel they are at fault. Recommend writing to the BBB, if you put it on a charge card you may be able to call them and reverse the charge. Good luck... and buyer beware.

How foolish and short sighted :upset of them to treat people like this, they are ruining their reputation!

UPS in Lexington, Kentucky - Left 4 packages next door

I received an email that said 4 packages had been delivered to my address at 2:56 pm. They HAD NOT. About 7pm I called UPS Customer Service. I got the run around. They told me I had to report this to the shipper. In this case it was 3 different shippers. While on the phone, I went outside and started walking the street. There were 4 packages on the porch next door. I asked if UPS would come and check to see if they were mine. I did not want to be accused of trespassing or stealing packages from next door. The lady was so busy reading from her script she ignored my question, until I had repeated it 5 times, each time raising my voice. She put me on hold to check, but told me they could not. This is unacceptable that a customer has to go trespassing next door to get their packages. I just learned when UPS makes a mistake, they are unwilling to correct it, even when the customer has done all the work and located their misplaced packages for them.

I understand your pain and I am currently experiencing many issues with UPS/UPS driver(s) but they including the 800 customer service reps and the local UPS center couldn't care less. They did respond to me but with the attitude which can not be described.

They are worse than the government owned USPS. I don't even have the energy to write the whole story about my case(s) with them as I am exausted with UPS. A worst company on the planet of earth! :(.

The problem is some shippers don't let us consumers choose what freight company to use. If I could, I would use USPS or Fedex.
