Wow, a google search and this is what I turn up. My package is ALSO in laurel MD, coming from CA!! It was suppose to be delivered today however 12/6/13(ordered 11/28/13), and up until about 9pm tonight, said it was on schedule. I find this funny since in the tracking info it says posted at 10:00am. Defiantly not!, I checked at about 6PM when I got home from work because it hadn't arrived yet, it still said "on schedule". Anyways, my tracking also now says "exception" and the most recent update says late trailer. This sucks I have about 100 bucks of computer parts coming and today was my day off for the week to take apart my computer. I didn't pay for shipping so I its not like anybody is gonna do anything for me. I just wonder what actually happened to this truck/shipment in general. Did the driver crash? Break down?, if so, why didn't another truck come pick up the trailer. I worry about my items being damaged.

This is what my tracking says:

Laurel, MD 12/05/2013 10:00 A.M. Late trailer

Cerritos, CA 12/01/2013 6:22 P.M. Departure Scan

12/01/2013 5:27 P.M. Origin Scan

12/02/2013 11:26 P.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

(removed "united states" and lined up for better viewing in a txt doc)

I mean really, order "ready for ups" the day after its departure scan... Disappointed in UPS, I've gotten a couple packages from them recently and they don't even ring the door bell. I have a decent size front porch, blocked from view of the road by large bushes. Where does he leave my packages, in front of my steps basically in my yard, thanks guy...

I could keep going but I'm going to stop there but I find this interesting and if either of you get any info, please post it.

UPS - Held packages pick up location did not have the package as requested. Extremely rude customer service.

Recently I had the worst encounter with the UPS package hold up service. I had called up UPS customer service and asked them to hold a package at 76 Arlington Street, Watertown, MA. They confirmed the hold and I also cross checked on the UPS website which said that the package was at the mentioned location. When I went at 8 am the next day, the person named Tony looked for it and didn't find it. First of all Tony looked extremely disinterested in helping anyone out, on top of that he was very nonchalant about not finding the package after making me wait for 45 minutes. However, he said he will call me and let me know if UPS still had the package. He did call me in 2 hrs conforming that the package was in the store and that I can pick it up anytime I want. With all the hopes this time, I go back to the store at 8 am the next day, and after an hr, Tony doesn't find the package again. When I showed my disappointment he became rude and said that maybe I should come again the next day. He then denied that all he said on the phone was that he found the package but he didn't promise that it would be there in the store. This got me really angry because it is his duty to tell me where my package was. I can not dream the location. Finally when I showed him my disappointment, he sent me to the warehouse where I finally got the package. This entire process costed me 2 hours which was not needed if Tony had told me earlier the location of the package.Instead he found it better to make me wait for an hr and then only reveal the magic location. In the meantime he was extremely rude, slow and had a don't-care expression. Almost 90% of the other customers in the store were also not able to get their package and everybody was made to run to the warehouse. I do not find a need for a customer center if eventually every one has to run to the warehouse to get their package.

UPS confirmation of delivery, but no computer

I live in a quiet neighborhood, and I was out of the house for 1 1/2 hours. While I was gone, the UPS guy supposedly left my computer at the front door, and I have a confirmation of delivery, but no item! I have lived in this house for 40+ years, and nothing has ever been missing before. The next day I saw the UPS guy, and told him that I did not get my computer, and he said he did NOT deliver to my house on the day in question. I called UPS and was told to file a claim with the sender, Best Buy, and BB would initiate an investigation. BB said "This happens all the time." In the meantime, I paid for the computer and I do not have it.

Pissed wants me to do a final report, so here it is:

I never got my package. I wasted a lot of time in working with the seller (Best Buy) and my credit card company and UPS, and the upshot is that the charge was cancelled and I have no computer.

About 3 weeks after this episode UPS came to my door and asked me to sign a statement that I did not receive the computer, which of course I did sign. On the form I noticed that the item had been scanned as delivered at a location about one mile away from my house! I questioned the driver, and he said "There is no such address." All this happened in early December, BEFORE ANY STORMS.

LESSONS LEARNED: Do not trust UPS, try to accept delivery at a store, not your house.

@BillieUSA2013

So you weren't charged and that makes you mad?

Btw how do you know it was delivered to the wrong address, maybe bb put the wrong address on the package and ups delivered to that "correct" address. Just sayin.

@it takes all kinds

Yes, I am mad because I paid for the item, I was charged, and had to waste at least 5 hours to get a refund, time I cannot afford to waste. My time is very valuable.

Did you read what I said previously?

It was not delivered to the wrong address... the UPS guy said it was scanned at an address that does not exist! Best Buy did not make a mistake. The address would have been generated by my credit card information, which was a confirmed charge. I got a confirmation of delivery from Best Buy and UPS, and it was not delivered. Then 3 weeks later the UPS guy said it was scanned in a mile away from my house, at an address that does not exist. Of course I do not know what the label said, because I never saw the package, but my address could not have been wrong... it came from my credit card information.

Do a search on youtube for stolen package shipments.

Folks make a living by following delviery trucks and swiping the items once they have been delivered.

Signature required is the best way to go.

He delivered it but forgot. Probably got snatched from the porch in your "quiet neighborhood".

I am sure BBB meant that packages disappear all of the time, not that UPS says they deliverd when they didn't. Nobody at the BBB would make any remark of this sort.

@MikeBrady

Thank you for your idea... It has been 3 days now, and I have not heard from Best Buy.

I paid for the computer, and I do not have it. Maybe somebody did steal it, but as I said, it has never happened before in 40 years, though the world is changing, for sure.

PS I did not write BBB (Better Business Bureau?).

I wrote BB, my abbreviation for Best Buy. And yes, the customer service guy from Best Buy said it happens all the time.

Bad customer service & terrible UPS inside communication

I sent my product in wrong label. I call right back to inform UPS for return. They promised that my package will be returned to me. After a few days I called UPS to check everything was OK as mentioned, but it delivered to wrong people. I called (800) 742-5877 (Consumer), and complained to the associate, John Liu, but he was very rude and don't educate how to answer phone. He said someone made mistake and nothing he can do. I asked for supervisor, but he put me on hold over 20 min and hang off on me at end. Ugly customer service. Very clumsy system. Terrible education for employee. I'm very regret to do business with UPS.

UPS - Package claimed delivered, if so left on doorstep

It seems that we should avoid UPS like the plague in holiday season. Start now! I was out last night but received confirmation of a delivery at 7:14pm. When I arrived home there was nothing. My neighbors had nothing. Apparently the package was left in full view of passing people and has mysteriously disappeared. I am now going to waste hours of my time, the shipper's time and maybe ebay's time getting this mess cleared up. Out usual UPS guy is great, but until after the holidays I suggest boycotting UPS. Good luck, happy holidays and successful deliveries, just request peiople don't ship via UPS!

If the package was insured ($100 automatically) it might not be UPS's fault but it is their problem. You or the shipper should file a claim

MikeBrady
#753648

Not the fault of UPS. Either you or the shipper should have requested that it needed a signature, otherwise they leave them at the door.

Everybody knows that during holiday season thieves follow delivery trucks for that very reason. If I order anything, I either ship it to my office or make sure someone is home - I never lost a package.

No. Just how to handle ordering a package and getting it.

But millions already do that so I can't really take credit. But thanks anyway!

UPS in Miami, Florida - They claim a delivery but they lie!

Tracked UPS online and even requested e-mail notification. As I sat on front porch I received e-mail confirmation the package was delivered to the front door. NOT! Called customer service to notify driver lied about delivery, and was told to call shipper? Don't you think they would care if their drivers are lying? This is not the first time I have complaints abut UPS service. They sometimes drop off the package and don't ring the doorbell. Or they simply place a notice of no delivery because no one was home. I work from Home! I am always here! I will request different delivery service for future purchases.

I am in the same situation as everyone. PLEASE stop thinking these are only Christmas gifts sitting in the Mesquite hub.

You don't know what people are having shipping so don't assume it's for Christmas. Just called local news stations, hope you all will join me and inform our local media of the problem. Someone needs to get a REAL answer. I live in Dallas, so I lived through this storm.

It was bad but my KIDS can go to school and brave the "icy" roads, why can't grown adults sort through these packages? Operation shift blame is under full swing

UPS in Los Angeles, California - Website says no one was home, while I took a day off and waited for the delivery !

I took a day off today, to sign for the monitor I'm expecting as I got a missed delivery note saying they would try again today from 10am to 2pm. I waited all day until around 3:30or 4pm, it's a quite street, everytime I heard someone pulling in I would go to the window and check, no one ever came knocking on the door, so I went to check the delivery status on the website, and it says " 12/05/2013 1:30 P.M. The customer was not available on the 2nd attempt. A 3rd attempt will be made. " wow, how can any customer trust UPS anymore when the delivery person just flat out lie about whether the customer was home , so he didn't have to carry a monitor from the truck to the door ??? This had happened a few times already and it's really getting on my nerves, I can only take so many days off, and to waste it on someone else's laziness is definitely not worth it ! Oh, better yet, the delivery person didn't even leave one of those little yellow note telling you you missed the delivery. Had I not checked the website, I would have thought the monitor was lost .

Fed-Ex has done this to me several times. I stayed home to make sure I was there to received the package.

The truck never even came into my neighborhood, yet the website said no one was home. My guess is both companies have their fair share of scrubs who leave their routes everyday to run personal errands, take long lunches (or use the services of *** Whatever.

You're right. what used to be a reliable form of logistics has turned into an overrated, unreliable form of the US Postal Service.

As an update on this one. I called UPS this evening, after not getting my package again of course, and the young lady I spoke with actually tried to insinuate I was lying that it'd been pushed back twice now until she finally looked it up!

Then she informed me that they were very busy and there was nothing she could do, so if I didn't have any more questions .............! Seriously where does this company hire it's call center employees?

UPS in New York, New York - Lied too and still waiting!

My package was out for delivery on Tuesday. I call my driver, he said it was on another truck. I found that truck, it was so packed they could not find my package. I waited till 7:00pm. It never came. I called, they lied (said it was not on truck and I would have it tomorrow). On Wednesday, I called my driver again. He said it was on another truck. Computer showed out for delivery today (Wed). When not here by 7:00pm I called UPS again. Told they were making late delivers, and I would get it that night. At 8:45 spoke to a suppervisor and told same thing. At 9:05 Computer went from out for delivery to "Exception"!! It is Thursday, and I still do not have it! UPS is in way over it's head. Not the first time I had a problem, but the last! I will never, ever use them again!
