UPS in Austin, Texas - Package not received on time

This package was originally scheduled to be delivered today the 24th. Who knows when it's supposed to get here. I got an email from you UPS saying this, "We have not yet received the package from the shipper, so it will not be delivered as originally scheduled etc, etc." I called the company I ordered from and they were pretty upset because UPS told others the same thing even though they already did send the package to you. The company said that UPS had mechanical issues with a plane and it didn't depart today. That's pretty pathetic that UPS is lying about a problem they are having and making other companies look bad. After this I am viewing UPS with a terrible reputation and lack of trust. I had an issue earlier this month as well at the Mesquite UPS facility where my package sat there for a week. Hopefully companies and online sites stop using UPS because it has gotten really bad. I know for a fact I won't be using them anymore. Really glad I shipped some presents with Fedex and had no issues.

UPS in Salt Lake City, Utah - So much for "guaranteed" arrival date.

This is the first year I have spent Christmas away from my family. It's kind of a big deal for me, and I am uncertain how I will handle it emotionally. My father, being the kind man he is, sent me a package, with two day air shipping, to arrive no later than the 24th. Happy that there might be something for me for Christmas, I literally waited patiently all day for this package to arrive. I notice that at 6:27 this morning, it was sent out to be delivered. Around 8:30 PM (14 hours later), a UPS truck came by, and dropped off several packages to several apartments where I live. I asked them if they had a package for my apartment, the UPS man said "No. It was put on another truck." and practically drove off right then. Since then, no other truck has arrived, and it's become quite obvious I will not receive my "guaranteed" package until after Christmas ...Pardon me for being rude, but, WHY THE *** WAS IT PUT ON ANOTHER TRUCK WHEN THAT TRUCK CAME RIGHT TO MY APARTMENT?! And why did that other truck never arrive, even though I was "guaranteed" for it to arrive today? I understand that it's Christmas eve, but COME ON! You had a truck arrive TO MY APARTMENT COMPLEX, but my package wasn't there?! WHY?!

WOW I can't believe its soo hard to think that with all the procrastinating, want it last week people, that a shipping company had a few mistakes! Maybe your dad should have remembered about you earlier than the 20th!

or maybe better yet, he could have paid more to next day air you the package!

UPS Package Lost In Limbo on Christmas Eve 2013

Packages was sent on the 16th was supposed to be delivered as it said on the 20th guaranteed, waited all day, spoke to CSR told me to wait some more and by 8pm nothing. Called the shipped and they opened a Tracer for a lost package for me. On the 23rd my account was changed to Exception and I've received no other information on the package. It was a phone so I'm a little bit more than pissed / upset. Apparently also rumour has it the Vernon, CA location is notorious for loosing (stealing) packages so I'll be surprised if it shows up. I will NEVER use this company again and urge every single person using the service to do the same AND to contact the shipper (whether it be JC Penny, Amazon, Sears, ETC) and let them know that if they intend on using UPS in the future you will order elsewhere. The only way to effect companies like this is through the pocketbook.

So you really think the employees of delivery companies have x-ray glasses? They have the time and means to looks through all packages for pricey items, especially at peak Christmas rush????

You must be off your rocker, or on some good drugs! Or maybe you have the need to be put on some good drugs?

Its sounds fishy that macy's is just going to take your word the the ring just vanished oops I mean stolen!

UPS in Germantown, Maryland - Lost package and last minute delay on xmas

My fiancé and I decided to spend Xmas with her family this year. I did most of shopping online this year since I was going to be out-of-town. I had purchased a gift for my 8 year old nephew and had it shipped to mothers house knowing my family was going to be there and he can open his present on Xmas morning. I also bought my fiancé a gift and had it shipped to her sister's house which is where we are going to be Xmas morning. Words cannot describe how upset i am as I'm writing this. First, the gift for my nephew never arrived despite the fact that someone was in the house. According to the tracking info, it was left at the door. No one ever knocked and furthermore, there was NOTHING at the door!! Secondly, the gift for my fiancé was was scheduled to be delivered today by end of day (3pm according to the website). Nothing was delivered. At 930 pm today, the 24th of December, the info was updated saying that an unexpected delay was encountered at the facility! WTF!?!? It's way too late for me to run out and get her something to unwrap tomorrow and to further complicate things, I'm about 50 miles away from a major city. How *** is it that UPS has let me down, not once but twice!!!! I will NEVER use ups again and I will be certain to use vendors that ship with other carriers.

first of all was the package for your nephew maybe taken by somebody else? UPS has GPS on all deliveries!

And secondly, maybe you should blame yourself for not ordering in a timely manner!

How *** is it to not only order last minute, but not even upgrade for faster shipping! Sounds like you let your fiancé down, and just like to blame it on UPS!!

@sick of procratinators

I like how you decide to complain without knowing the full scope of the situation. I ordered both items and paid extra for next day delivery.

Either way you look at it, both vendors gaurenteed delivery by the 24th. It doesn't matter when I placed the order, if ups gaurentees delivery by a certain date, they should deliver it!!

If they can't get there *** together them maybe they should shouldn't gaurentee delivery dates they can't fulfill.

Now that I've decently responded to your *** post I can tell you what I really wanted to start this message with, Go *** yourself!!

Could have driven there faster than UPS

I dropped my packages at a UPS Store in Houston, Texas on Thursday, December 19th at 8:30 a.m., the packages were being sent to Atlanta, Georgia, a 14 hour drive. The packages were never picked up until 7:29 p.m. I got an email that read "due to a local operation disruption", the delivery was delayed by "one business day". If the packages were being delivered to an area hit with bad weather, this would be acceptable but since they weren't having them delivered after Christmas is not an acceptable way of doing business. I have used UPS for years but I'd rather stand in line at the post office or spend a little more and ship via Fedex to get packages delivered on time than run the risk of shipping via UPS again.

The whole southern US was hit by a ice storm! And only a one day delay?

That's pretty good! And this is the Christmas season, volume triples, at the very least! Just because packages were dropped off at a UPS store in the morning, doesn't meant they will be picked up immediately!

The pick ups is at the end of the day! I think where ever you decide to ship your packages in the future, you will be a crab *** abut it!

UPS in Palatka, Florida - Paid for overnight shpping, they didn't even pick up for 3 days!

I ordered a lot of my son's Christmas gifts though Amazon. I paid for overnight shipping. The part that were done by Fed Ex arrived today. ALL of the stuff done through UPS sat there, waiting to be picked up by UPS for 3 days. Now, they are saying the 26th or 27th for delivery. They claimed it was a "system glitch" that cause them to not pick up the packages. I don't believe that. 3 days? Really? Plus, other items I ordered from another company, that shipped via UPS, the same issue seems to be going on. The original estimated delivery was today, now all of those seem to be for the 27th also. I think from now on I will request that any company I have an item shipped through uses Fed Ex instead.

UPS in Edmonton, Alberta - Waiting 5 days

My gifts were shipped from Dallas Dec. 11. They arrived in Edmonton Alberta Canada Dec. 18 due to a weather exception....except there was no bad weather in Edmonton. I arrived here in the 20th....it's Christmas Eve and no gifts for my family. UPS told me they were doing everything they could to deliver today but I may not get them until the 27th. I've been shipping my Christmas gifts via UPS for 19 years and this has been the first real problem I've had. Unfortunately it's been enough to cause me not nap ever UPS again. I agree with other posters, UPS does not care about these delays and I don't believe for a minute that they're doing everything they can.
