Absolute disgrace UPS without any Regulatory Authority
UPS is absolute disgrace. Also I met a sector without Regulatory Authority (I have not searched any one). The below is a brief summary of my experience based on email communications. ----- I am angry with your service. For a small Christmas gift, you can impose an extra charge of 13.36 CAD without any reason. My friend paid the full delivery fee to you and you never told him this extra charge when he posted it. Particularly, your staff can change the charge story again and again but no any reason is reasonable or legal. 01/31/2013: I was told an extra charge of a brokerage COD for 13.36 CAD by UPS staff A. >> I ask why the parcel needed a brokerage COD for 13.36 CAD? 01/01/2014: I was told by UPS staff A that the customs clearance procedure requires the broker to perform, on behalf of the importer, a number of tasks. Your rates for customs clearance into Canada at: http://www.ups.com/content/ca/en/shipping/cost/zones/customs_clearance.html >> The first time for charge reason change from a brokerage COD to the customer clearance. This gift is from China, which means UPS Worldwide free for Entry Preparation Charges for the small gift. According to your rates for the customs clearance website, there are no any items to charge my gift! 01/02/2014: I was told by UPS staff B that some international shipments may require a brokerage COD if the receiver does not have a UPS importer account. A brokerage COD collects charges for Brokerage, Taxes and Duty. He listed several the four Canadian gift exemption: the value cannot exceed 60: CAD, not be alcohol or tobacco, be new and purchased within one year, from one individual to another. >> My gift meets all the four gift exemption requirements! Why did you charge? I am surprising that the staff at such a big company answer the customers like this without any exact reasons, and changing reasons? 01/02/2014: I was told by UPS staff B the below breakdown of import charges: Duty $1.46; GST $1.40; Entry Preparation Fee $10.00; Brokerage GST $0.50; Total Charges $13.36. >> Firstly this gift is from China, which means UPS Worldwide free for Entry Preparation Charges according to your above own website. Why did you charge Entry Preparation Fee $10:00? Secondly, no any item fee is exact $10.00 in your link charge list. This means that you charge something without any regulation. 01/07/2014: I was told by UPS staff B that the fee that has been applied to your shipment is a Bond (Disbursement) fees (minimum of $5.85 on all Standard shipments; minimum of $10.00 on all Express and Expedited shipments of the amount advanced by UPS). >> Again I was told a new fee story. Do you change your fee stories randomly like this? Furthermore, I am surprising that such a big company has no any email or phone complaint approaches. When I want to complain, I must post a letter! 01/10/2014: I sent the above summary of my complaint to them through their online form. 01/13/2014: UPS staff C recognized that ‘As this was an air shipment, the Entry Preparation Fee was free of charge.’ However, Sharon told me a new breakdown of the charge: Entry Preparation Fee was changed to Bond fee and Brokerage GST was changed to Tax on Bond fee! >> Again I was told a new fee story. For your broken down, do UPS staff feel ridiculous for a small gift of low value to charge duty, tax and bond? Their staff gave examples that need to charge duty and tax. However, my gift is qualifying for the Canadian gift exemption. Why do UPS charge it? I am not professional. However, this is common sense. If such a small gift of low value needs to be charged so much, any gift should be charged. Please see your website: To avoid bond fees, call 1-800-PICK-UPS and ask about our Prepayment or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) plans. It is clear that both I and sender have not given any advices about the charge in advance. 01/13/2014: I was told by UPS staff C that ‘The charges have not changed and we have only attempted to clarify the matter for you.’ Sharon wrote “It was previously explained to you that this shipment did not qualify for the gift exemption as it was sent from a business to a business. The shipper/sender should have indicated that this was a "person to person" gift shipment. There would be a cost of $15 to have this shipment amended with new paperwork. As your import fees were only $13.36, this would not be a cost effective decision.” >> Now Sharon changed the charge story again. The gift exemption is based on "person to person" or “a business to a business.” I emailed my question to UPS staff C. Again you change your story of the charge to so-called business to business. If any so-called business to business, you should remind the charge when my friend posted the gift rather than now! Furthermore, your website have not shown any difference about a business to a business and a person to a person. If any difference, do you charge tax and duty of a Christmas card from a business to a business? Is it ridiculous that such a big company can change the charge reason frequently only if the charge price is same? We do not waste time. You, as professional, should give me the full contact information of the Regulatory Authority for your UPS sector! I will contact them directly. They should explain why you change your stories again and again since you cannot explain the charge by yourself. In most of my emails, I asked them to provide contact information of their UPS Regulatory Authority but they never gave me. ----- Since my last email, I never receive their response again
UPS supposedly left my package at my door
on 1/24/14 i waited at home all day for a package i had overnighted. i went to go check tracking and it was posted as being delievered at 1:35pm now why didnt UPS knock on the door and also i live in a place were you have to be buzzed in or someone comes and opens the door for you. question is who opened the door for this driver if he did in fact leave my package now i'm stuck waiting on an investigation what they need to do is get a policy were you just cant leave someones package sitting out in plain view for someone to steal.
I had my personal things came from India by UPS. Everything was packed by professional courier agency as per guidelines of UPS. UPS-India does not accept any loose parcels or any improper packaging with complete list of items. They sent my boxes to Canad, when I opened...
I live in an apartment building and there's an intercom at the front entrance. The driver was too lazy to ring the buzzer so he just left a delivery notice at the front entrance. I called them and the just said that he will pass by another day. When I wanted to make a...
UPS in Jersey City, New Jersey - Lying about Failed Delivery Attempts
I have a home based office. My desk is by a window on a one way street. I can clearly see the street in front of building while sitting at my desk. UPS has repeatedly lied about delivery attempts. On days when I am expecting an important delivery, I monitor UPS tracking through their site (and text updates). BTW - These are deliveries sent by companies that only offer delivery through UPS (I never use them to send items out). And yet, even though I am home all day, waiting, and monitoring UPS tracking, the pathetic idiots have the audacity to lie about "attempted deliveries". They don't even bother leaving a notice on the door. UPS lacks any means to monitor their drivers, as calling their laughable customer service does no good. When packages do arrive, they are frequently damaged in transit. Last week UPS left a package on my porch with a split seam and the contents partially hanging out. Jersey City UPS drivers are a vile horde of knuckle dragging reprobates. I pray for the day UPS goes bankrupt. If it's brown, flush it down...to into the bowels of H-E-double hockey sticks.
UPS in Toms River, New Jersey - I tried calling customer service and I was transfered to a IT rep named Mandeep.
I've never had such a terrible experience with any company that I've dealt with over the phone. Mandeep was extremely rude and unprofessional and refused to transfer me to someone who could answer my question. Whomever is in charge of this Mandeep guy should fire him. He was the rudest person I have ever dealt with at any NJ UPS.. If you get on the phone with Mandeep please just hang up because he is no help. Your better off talking to a rock and calling it a day. He should be fired with disgrace!!!! remember the name Mandeep!!!!! He's definately not right in the head and isn't very easy to ignore............................
UPS incorrectly delivered packages
How many packages does UPS deliver to the wrong address. Who knows? Because UPS does NOT care about incorrectly delivered packages. Many of their packages are re-delivered by kind neighbors that take them to the correct address. How do I know that UPS does not care about incorrect delivery. If you fall victim to a UPS bad delivery there is not even a direct 1-800 number to call to get them to pick it up. You have to wind your way through their atrocious menu system (a waste of time) and tell them you have a bad delivery. Then their standard answer is that the truck has already left the area and they will pick it up the next day. So, UPS does not make it easy to help them resolve the bad delivery. They have absolutely no system to track bad deliveries and will not compensate anyone that waste their time contacting them about a bad delivery. According to them they have NEVER incorrectly delivered a package. That is why they have no tracking system for it and menu item on their 1-800 line to make it easy to get them to pick it up. That is also why they don't want to track how many incorrectly delivered packages they have over any given time period. What is the best thing to do when you become a victim of an incorrectly delivered package from UPS? THROW IT AWAY!!! Why help a sorry company that does not care about customer service and depends on caring neighbors to deliver (probably 10-20 % of their packages) Maybe if enough of us do this they will finally get the message. But it is doubtful because UPS is a totally brain dead company.
UPS New Motto: Simply the Worst!
Boss shipped crashed computer back to home office. First: they failed to collect proper paperwork requiring return trip to their depot; Second: they lost the package; Third: they claimed that they had twice attempted delivery but couldn't collect payment-a bold-faced lie; Fourth: numerous emails, live chats and phone calls to "customer service" prove both frustrating and futile; Fifth: finally had to drive out to the airport at rush hour, no less, to retrieve a package that a monkey could've delivered to a downtown address; Sixth: filed a complaint with the company the following day and was told I would receive a return phone call with one hour. Sold-the Brooklyn Bridge!
UPS - Incompetent Driver
I made an order /Shoebuy.com on Dec31st. To make a long story short, I checked my tracking in the afternoon & it said delivered. I checked on my porch, that is where my usual driver brings to my house & I do believe that is the protocol. I checked on the 9th said delivered, so I checked on my porch, they was NO PKG. I called UPS, they said it was left @ gate. I live back off the road from the road & gate. I drove down there & found NOTHING. This LAZY driver could not bring it to house. He either left it somewhere else or someone stole it & now its a hassle for my refund, when they got my money within 24 hrs. So, today is Jan21st & I have no refund & a runaround. I am going to complain EVERYWHERE until, my money is in my bank. Its the principle, also! He should be fired!
UPS - Expensive package left in the snow by the road!
My recent UPS experience was quit terrible. I had been expecting a shipment valued at $2500.00 which only partially arrived Wednesday the 15th of January. 3 of the 4 boxes were left by our back door in the snow. The driver could have moved them in just 2 feet to be out of the weather. The following day at about 5:30pm I saw the truck at the bottom of the driveway for about 5 minutes and then he left. I got in my vehicle and caught up with him just down the road. I spoke with him and he had left it at the bottom of my driveway. I told him the value and that leaving it there was the worst possible thing he could have done. All the packages have delicate electronics. He told me that was company policy! That package worth $700 was left at the bottom of my driveway in 3ft of snow while it is snowing out! The plow came through just hours later and if I wouldn't have caught up with the driver that box would have been buried in the snow and ruined by time we found it. Every box has tape stating do not sign for the package if it appears damaged. Why did he leave the packages without a signature to begin with?
