When you don't know, say so

Ordered a package and waited three days from the date the seller dropped it off at the UPS Store for the package to be scanned as received. Then the estimated delivery date was Feb. 12, which is 11 days after my package was dropped off at UPS. I ask off work so that I can be home to sign for said, expensive package. Then I get an email saying item would be delivered on Feb. 6. So I ask off Feb. 6 and cancel being off on Feb. 12. Then I get an email saying that there was an exception (with no explanation of what) so I log on and check the status and there isn't an exception listed but my delivery date changed to Feb. 7. So instead of asking for another day off I pay $5 to have the delivery address changed.. their system didn't recognize my credit card, yet they authorized four charges for the times it tried. When that finally got worked out I thought all was good. Check the status later and it says that Address Change has been Requested and doesn't provide a delivery date and the package is still in the city it shipped from days ago. So I phone and ask when I can expect my package and am told that UPS Ground doesn't offer an estimated delivery day only a target of 5 business days but could be several days longer or shorter than that. I asked why my package wasn't moving and I was told that it was and that it was in Minnesota. I told the agent that it is still in the city it shipped from. She disagrees and says that it is in transit and I had to explain that the city that shes telling me that my package is in IS a few miles away from the UPS Store it was dropped off at and therefore not really what I would consider in transit. I call and talk to a different person who tells me that by changing the delivery address that I added an additional day to the delivery and that my delivery date will be Feb. 8, tomorrow. When I asked how my package is going to get from Minnesota to Tennessee in less than 24 hours when it has taken 7 days to move from the UPS Store to the UPS distribution center a few miles away so could only assure me that she can't guarantee that my package will arrive tomorrow but it should be to the local UPS distribution center tomorrow.. but it may take a few business days depending on volume before my package will arrive. I receive 10 or so packages a week and most arrive with no problem which is how the process should work. I'm not going to call and say "Good job.. my package arrived on time and everything is wonderful." I'm going to call and say "Why is my package sitting in one place for a week?" UPS needs to train their agents to actually help when there is a problem rather than giving me vague answers and telling me that there isn't a way for them to know when my package will be leaving or arriving. Isn't that the ENTIRE point of UPS? Is no one capable of calling up the supervisor of the distribution center and saying "Find this guys package and put it on a truck already so he'll stop calling and emailing us"? And, and this is what really gets me.. if I am going to have to talk to someone in India that is in need of English pronunciation lessons, they SHOULD NOT be giving me a geography lesson as to the semantics of the term "in transit" a package that has moved less than 10 miles in a week is NOT in transit thank you very much.

Hit by a UPS Truck in my OWN DRIVEWAY!
I have a long driveway that I share with a neighbor who gets UPS deliverys 2 - 3 times a week. This UPS driver speeds down the driveway so fast that I have already called to complain and get it to stop. Well it didn't, I have three small boys who play out in front,...

First of all this complaint does not ring TRUE.Once a UPS truck hit my vehicle on the expressway. The driver got out of the truck and Stated he was so sorry for hitting my vehicle. The driver stated he was on his way in for the day and Did not see me next to him in the opposite lane. Before i even got home UPS had already telephoned me about the accident.UPS not only paid for my vehicle to be fixed. They also sent me a check also for not trying to SUE the company. This was an accident. And UPS was on top of this matter immediately. Thanks UPS FOR STANDING UP AND PAYING UP.If you work with UPS and THEIR INSURANCE COMPANY.They will WORK WITH YOU.But if you try to BEAT UPS or *** UPS YOU WILL LOSE BIG TIME.

Uncaring, unprofessional, lack of customer service, condescending attitude of the UPS delivery driver in South East Calgary, Alberta merely echoes the same characteristics of UPS, upon retrieving my parcel at a UPS Store. This *** would have his *** fired out the door in any other ligitimate business, but not UPS. He will probably get promoted! Oh well, live and learn. What should have been a simple hold for pick up, turned into a fiasco of repeat visits to the UPS Store, and then waited for an hour for the driver to appear. I will never use UPS again and will pass this sentiment on to anyone else that is thinking about using this incompetent joke of an outfit. Feb. 05/13)

Parcel not delivered, UPS Customer Service useless

To whom it may concern;I would like to fill in a complaint letter in regards of your service. I was expecting a parcel on friday 02/02/2013. I spent whole day in house waiting for delivery that never arrived. I tried to contact the customer service various times but have not received ANY support from them, just reading from the script that my package have not reported for more than 24 hours, and I cant contact anyone to check. They will not contact the driver or dispatch centre to track the parcel. Worst experience with the shipping company I ever had.

I ordered a beautiful leather Coach purse worth hundreds of dollars and all the sudden I get a notice on my phone that UPS delivered it. I go outside; nothing there, out back; nothing. No one delivered anything! I called UPS to tell them what happened, they acted like...

My Neighbour stole my purse. I saw when UPS delivered my package across the street (to obviously the wrong address) , someone open the door and relieved it .

Of course I called coach and I was sent another one ...

But before I called , I went my neighbors house to ask them if they could give me my package and they said there was nothing delivered to them . Now I see they B with my purse like if she bought it .

Mr

Everytime I get a ups package delivered I get a info notice. 2 years ago I did not receive a package. Now the driver has to have a signature to leave the package. How long do the(*******) drivers hold a grudge? I try to call ups but you can't get a hold of anyone to ask a question. Now whenever I order something I request another shipper. I don't know what happened to the package, the driver said he delivered it and I still believe that he did. Someone could have taken it, but enough is enough, I have sent in numerous emails but it doesn't do any good, I don't think anyone a ups cares!!!!!!

Shipping cost 70% of item cost

Ordered $123.00 of hobby supplies from the US. The sender charged me $40 to ship (that was UPS charge for pickup from sender). When the parcel arrived in Canada the import duty was approx. $9.00 - UPS charged another $38.00 for shipping. Total cost to ship was $78.00 on an order of $123.00 that weighed 5 pounds. I have NEVER seen a greedy shipping company like UPS. They deliver in the US for pennies but are real thieves in Canada. Before the package was delivered I inquired about the cost and was told it was unknown because it was an international shipment (yeah right - it was less distance to my house than it is to Florida from the supplier). They USE the term international to be VERY GREEDY. I think that UPS (in US) and UPS Canada BOTH make profit on anything shipped into Canada from the US. It looks like you are actually paying two fifferent companies when you ship internationally thru UPS from USA to Canada.

lol @ rick...exactly.

maybe when you didn't answer the door the driver felt your package was safer left by the garage. in fact if you were confused and you had tracked the package, you would have seen it CLEARLY states that it was left at the garage. are your really that obtuse?

#603421

if that's your idea of a horror story you must have a really easy life lol

Horrible, incompetent company and office!!!!!!!!

i sent a very important legal envelope with legal documents to peru thru ups over 3 weeks ago which was expected to arrive 4-7 days. i was in the office for almost an hour while the incompetent manager was trying to figure out how to send this. she informed me that they could send it usps but thru their office as it would be cheaper so i agreed. she printed me out a receipt with a tracking number which she circled and wrote "usps.com" on it. its been 3 weeks and nothing has arrived. they have no idea where it is. the so called tracking number they gave me isn't even a valid tracking number for ups or usps so now it cannot be tracked.I've called several times they refuse to let me speak with the owner all they said is if i want my money back,. no i don't want my money back i want my documents you idiots!!!they try to blame usps but it was thru their office that the package was taken and they are the ones who gave me the invalid tracking number. its not even close to a real tracking number from usps.i have called several numbers and been transferred over 6 times and nothing. completely incompetent. if i don't get my documents back soon i will be contacting my attorney again. maybe if i sue their company for 1,000,000 dollars they will somehow find it!!!i have receipt from store to prove that they gave me an invalid tracking number.

most likely when you were told ups would cost $60+ you cried and moaned and asked for something cheaper. cheaper usually comes with less service, and in this case, no abilty to help get your package back.

try this experiment, put a stamp on a letter, put it in a nearby blue usps box, wait a day, then ask your mail carrier where that letter is...same situation. the ups store you shipped at gave it to the post office.

they are not persoanlly carrying it to peru. nor do they have a super secret password to contact postal carriers either in the us or peru.

#603422

don't waste your time and money with an attorney. first of all, documents are not insurable through any carrier.

second, you opted for the cheaper option that used Peru's postal service which, like most south american postal services, is not fast or reliable. next time, don't be a cheapskate if the documents are as important as you say they are.

#601689

This makes no sense !

Is it UPS or USPS you have a complaint with ?

The Owner of which one dealt with you ?

Really not able to figure out who you are complaining about?

Which Company is it you are wanting to sue is it you are going to sue ? Sure not able to figure this one out !

Ups parcel pick up

29/1/13. Expected UPS to pick up a parcel between 9am and 5pm. At about 10:30ish, I noticed a Ups van drive passed our place. Around 2:30pm called their customer service number who told me ' an attempt was made this morning to pick up our package but no one was in, and apparently they left a note. (No Note) What a utter LIE! Told them I saw a van pass our place this morning without stopping. They couldn't care less and only wanted us to rearrange another date.. I have read their awful reviews and agree UPS should be avoided. PLEASE DO NOT USE UPS. USELESS AND UNHELPFUL.

Delivered my package to someone else

Not the first time this happened: online, they marked my packages as delivered, but they were not delivered to me at all. To make matters worse, they delivered someone else's package to my doorstep, so that when I called to try and track my package, they insisted that it was delivered. I said,'yes, it's marked delivered, because you delivered someone else's package to me', they said *** things, like, 'are you sure?' and 'did you check all of your doorstep?' ***, horrible people. They said that they spoke to the driver and he insisted that he delivered the package. Felt like I was talking to the brain dead: 'yes, he did deliver something to my door, but it was not MY package!!'

UPS Poor service and unhelpfull

I have had two failures made by UPS in 2 weeks. The first was last week. On that occasion the package was logged as being on van for delivery on Tuesday around 0700. I waited in all day and nothing appeared. Around 1900 I checked the tracking system and it had logged an exception and showed a status:- The package was missed at the UPS facility, UPS will deliver on the next business day. I had to wait until around 1800 the following day! This week the identical thing has happened. I rang customer services - who tell me the driver has just run out of time. It appears the website lies - presumably the scan onto the van proves it got on the van. Customer services could tell me only that it would be delivered sometime tomorrow up to 1900. I asked him to ring the Sedgefield depot and ask them to give me first delivery. He refused. I am totally apalled by their service. 12 hour delivery slots! I will never use them again by choice. Much better service by DPD with 2 hour delivery slots texted to you.

In four years with correct address can't get deliveries without Pulling my Hair out!!!!

Since moving to New Mexico can't get any service at all. Have tried to complain to terminal in Albuquerque for over four years. Driver lies says, I live near Grants New Mexico but I live 6 miles form city hall in Rio Rancho, Grants is 84 miles from Rio Rancho. To make it worse with me being about 6 miles form city hall, they pass me going to the local gun club which is about 14 to 15 miles from me. Once I proved to the terminal that I was no where near Grants, the driver had been lying to them. His excuse changed to wrong address. For years we have split hairs over 41st Avenue verses being read 41 street. Guess drivers don't know how to read well here. I have a heart patient at home and my mother is on oxygen because of her blood clots in her lungs 86. We are off the grid and making our own electricity. The delivery is the circuit board for our wind turbine. I call when I saw tracking number sheet said wrong address on of the two excuses they always use. Sure enough I call the 800 number and find that is what the driver put but as usual the address is correct. So now I can't get needed componet until monday! THere is no one at the terminal and they can't contact driver.

During these years of terrible service I have talked to the terminal more than several times. Taken a drawn map and explicit instructions on how to get to my location.

One of the funnies is that they said that 41st avenue was read as 41 st (taking st as street avenue) and they didn't know where to go. :x

@Debra H Grz

I have in the past asked the terminal manager to drive out in his car or her's.To see that I'm not as far as they say and not difficult to find.. Wonder if I should as again. Have asked several times before.

Also UPS 800 number says they don't have access to corporate telephone number. I find that unusual.

It is costing me $90.00 a day with out that board.

Making heart patient upset.

Any Ideas out there :zzz

@Debra H Grz

Now I'm really mad called 800 number and they have no notes from my call yesterday....Even though I talked to rep and superior... Got the name this time "Darrell" I think in India...Told him if he didn't take notes and get it to Albuquerque terminal I would report him.

Then I asked how many Darrell are there. :(

Idiots

UPS has been leaving notices on the front door of our 10 unit building in Boston for two days. No name, no apartment number, nothing, except notices of "attempted delivery." To whom, UPS, are you trying to deliver? Should people this dumb be driving your delivery trucks? Your business is shipping, no? And union is willing to protect these workers? Shippers trust these yahoos? Not me! Incompetence has rise to an all time high with UPS. I tried to call the 800 number and talk with "customer service." I explained that it would be helpful if UPS actually used a customer's name or apartment number. The guy said, "Yes, you have a point." After looking up the tracking number, he told me it was apartment #6. I said, "Well, that would be most helpful for the residents of the building to know who needs to contact UPS to make arrangements, rather than dumb UPS drivers burning carbon fuel driving around for days without communicating with their customers. I then asked to talk with a manager and I was put on hold for ever, clearly UPS wants to avoid customer service. UPS is a unionized American company that is in the shipping business, but their drivers don't know this. Sad mess.

Ups Manager

They either don't deliver or steal it.

Have had an ongoing issue with UPS of late, have always ordered and never cared about who delivered but since November last year (2012) UPS has either not delivered my packages, stolen them, lied about when they delivered or simply ignored them. He would deliver "after 5PM" when I am at work and when the rental office is closed but the security camera reports that it was 4:35 PM when he arrived; plenty of time to take it to the office. Just lazy. Or he would mark that a signature is required when I know for sure that it is not after talking to the company I purchased from. Also after setting the package at my door, not knocking or leaving a note, he would come back in a few seconds and take the package, reporting that it was delivered. On security camera taking the package. UPS when asked to comment would say nothing and simply state that it might have been left at the back door, there is no back door.
