UPS driver probably drank my wine.....

At the end of my honeymoon, I shipped a case of wine to myself from California to Washington, DC using a UPS endorsed mail center. 3 weeks later I received notification from UPS that the shipment was damaged. Our insurance claim was denied because UPS said we did not use a specific grade of Styrofoam. They also will not let us claim our box to see if anything was salvageable. We were never told the insurance was only valid if we used UPS shipping materials. The UPS manager named CJ (operator ID 2494) refused to give me his last name or the dispute claim phone number. So I am starting an "I HATE UPS" campaign. There was a giant sign on the box that said "WINE" Im sure the UPS staff enjoyed my frickin Pinot Noir.

You ARE licensed to ship Wine ?

It is a product that individuals cannot ship, if caught, it can be 5 yrs in the Pen, and $250,000 fine.

Shipping Wine across State Lines is federal Offense, attempting to avoid State Taxes !

Read the UPS Tariffs, regarding shipping Wine, or any Acoholic Beverages.

Oh, and per UPS Shipping Procedures, you can produce proof you required Adult Signature ?

UPS 2nd day Air takes 7 days

I am really displeased with ups service. I paid for a 2nd day air, but my package took 7 days and counting. I called and called UPS support but no one could give me a straight answer.UPS has gotten too lazy and takes its customers for granted. I am not using their service anymore, even if I have to deliver them myself. The funny thing is they don't even let you post complaints or have direct access to decision makers and complain directly to them. I ended up filling a claim with my credit card and reverse the purchase.

Lazy UPS Driver put packages out on front of house where easily stolen

I ordered toys for my grandchildren from Toys R Us for Christmas. Our long term UPS driver always puts the UPS deliveries in the garage as he has done for 19 years and never a problem. I operate a home based business and get up to 10 UPS packages per week. The extra Christmas help driver just dropped the packages with the toys at the "front door" according to the tracking info (visible and close to road to be easly stolen). When I did not receive them I called and filed a claim, they insinuated I probably got them and was just trying to scam them and said it was there perogative to leave them in the middle of the street if they chose to do so. Also since I filed a claim they would now make me sign for every delivery which will be impossible since I travel with my work. I am so angry their incompetence spoiled my Grandchildrens Christmas and they want to punish me for their poor judgment. Fed Ex from now on for sure!!!!

UPS Negligent Driver! Poor Service!

The UPS driver in my area 60543 is the worst Mail delivery person I have had in 43 years. They are the most careless of all the mail delivery companies by far. It is probably just the driver because I don't really remember them being this bad before. A few months ago my wife witnessed the driver rolling an 1100 dollar speaker cab end to end down the ramp of her truck. Then she left it in the driveway in front of the garage. She happened to leave it in front of my wife's car and she had to move it with my dolly, causing her to be late for work. I complained to UPS and they told me they would talk to her and that they took complaints seriously. If they do take it serious, the driver obviously doesn't. Now months later I ordered another speaker cab, same result. Only this time not only was the package on the driveway and in front of my wife's car, the box is damaged. Now I have to open it and hope it's not damaged. If it is who gets the headache, you guessed it me. Stay away from ups if at all possible. They are expensive and no you do not get what you pay for!

ups is NOT a postal system and does not deliver mail, ups is a private carrier. one reason ups (and fedex) cannot put items in your mail box. The post office/usps is the us postal system and delivers the mail.

#611399

Mail can be a letter a package etc. I did not mean the post office.

I meant what I said UPS.

Mail is letters and packages delivered by a postal system. To answer your question UPS started delivering packages in 1919 I believe.

#640242
@Danny P Ssl

UPS IS a postal system, just not government run.

Mail, or post, is a system for transporting letters and other tangible objects: written documents, typically enclosed in envelopes, and also small packages are delivered to destinations around the world. Anything sent through the postal system is called mail or post.

A postal service can be PRIVATE or public, though many governments place restrictions on private systems.

That is why UPS AND FedEx can not put things in your mailbox.

#588534

When did UPS start delivering mail??????

You must mean the Post Office ??

Frustrated delivery

The email said the package would be received on the 17th. Three packages were shipped and traveled to Lenexa KS and arrived there on the 14th. Waited for the package on the 17th. Two came and the other did not. Called to check on it, and because it was not midnight they they would not check. Of course had they checked they could have caught the package before it was re-routed to kingdom come such as PA, OH, and what ever other state it went to. It arrive on Christmas eve as we were walking out the door. This was a christmas package for our Grandson who did not get it when the others were getting theirs. And a second trip was needed to deliver his package. When it all could have been avoided had UPS checked when I called to allert them the other package was lost and needed to be delivered. Two days later, it was in OH etc.... I will carefully screen who I purchase Items from in the future. If they are using UPS I will do my best to avoid the purchase. I can and will find a vendor who uses another carrier. I was never so frustrated in my life and disappointed. I had made arrangements for someone to come and check while we left for christmas to see if the package was delivered. It just happened 5 minutes later and we would have been gone. It was terrible service. I asked the driver about a web site that I could make a comment... And he didn't even have a clue for that. Terrible Terrible service.

package has been delayed due to "severe weather conditions"- it's a total lie based on PREDICTED weather conditions! I checked the archives for last night to this morning for the towns/cities on the route between where it set off from and here- NO BAD WEATHER...

oh sorry, 0.01 inches of snow!

I hate UPS, and for some reason Amazon insist on using them!! This has happened on quite a few occasion, they just blatantly LIE, they have no conscience.

UPS LIES!!!

I placed several orders with AMAZON during the last several months all using Amazon Prime 2 Day free shipping. One order according to UPS was left at my home with "the lady" funny part is my wife and I were were both at work when the left it with the lady. Checked the neighbors and no one got it. Week before Christmas I ordered a DVD and it was to be delievered Friday. I didn't get till Monday according to UPS delay was due to weather, UPS tracking showed item was at the UPS warehouse 20 minutes away Thursday and we had nice weather (70 degrees) on Friday. Christmas Day I ordered a DVD the next Day I orded another DVD and a TV wall mount. All three orders were Prime 2 day shipping and all were shipped at the same time. UPS claimed they delivered the two orders that were placed the day after Christmas but couldn't deliever the order I placed Christmas till Wednesday the 2nd of Jan. Onjce again I checked and there was no delievery to me and I was home Friday!!! Funny thing is an order I placed Thursday with Amazon was just delievered (Monday) but they still have not delievered the DVD I ordered on Christmas day. UPS website still shows the item to be at their place and they can't deliever it till Wednesday because of adverse weather. UPS IS A BUNCH OF LIES!!!

Here is what you do -- Call 800-pick-ups and file a complaint and tell them you want a call back from the supervisor at the distribution center. When they call - and they always do file a MASSIVE complaint. This is usually good enough to straighten out a problem with your driver.

UPS screws up shipping

Alternate Title: UPS screws up shipping method and tries placing blame on Amazon.ca Long story short, I decided to buy a book from Amazon.ca on Dec. 25 2012. When it came time to select the shipping method, I selected 2 day shipping. The item was shipped on the 27 from Ontario (I live on the East Coast of Canada) with no problems. Just last night when I went to check on where it was on the UPS site, UPS reported that it was being shipped by UPS Standard. This morning I called up the American/International UPS phone number -as the Canadian phone line is closed on Sundays- to ask what was going on. UPS said they the package was moving along nicely and that I'd have it after New years. UPS said that it Was Amazon's fault because UPS only goes by what's on the label. They also said that Amazon.ca doesn't have a 2 day shipping option and they kept repeating that Amazon doesn't have a 2 day shipping option, that I'd have to contact Amazon to sort it out, that my package's shipping method is ground shipping, that it was moving along nicely and that if it didn't arrive on the 2nd of January 2013, that it would arrive in 5-9 business days. I then called up Amazon.ca -which the phone line for the Canadian site was thankfully open- and asked them what was going on. The representative checked into it and said the the records of the transaction said that 2 day shipping was ordered was paid for and was on the label. They said that it made no sense for them to ship it with UPS as 2 day shipping while US ships it as ground package especially when the package only weight 2 lbs. So back to the US phone line I went looking for answers and I got this extremely rude woman on the end of the line. She kept repeating that it was a ground shipment and that it would get to me when it got there and that ground shipments weren't delivered on Holidays -on the 31 of December in other words. I once again said that Amazon had said on their site and a representative had both said that 2 day shipping was purchased on the item -the Item with the 2 day shipping included is CDN $35.47- and the representative said something around the lines of "I don't how to explain it so you will understand." I asked to speak with a manager and she immediately tried to say that he would only give me the same information, again saying she didn't know how to make me understand, she also asked for Amazon's constant information. When I started to provide it to her she said she had no way to contact them as she can't make outbound calls, and when i offered Amazon.ca's e-mail and live chat options she said that they wouldn't work and asked me to make a conference call to amazon and include UPS in the call. I turned the tables ad said that I couldn't because I'm in a residential area and first of all, conferance calls are not included the the phone package my family has. After the second and third time of he saying that she "can't make me understand" I demanded to see a manager after letting a few choice words fly as well as telling her that just because I'm a Canadian doesn't mean that I have to put up with how she was treating me and that it doesn't take a Paralegal graduate to understand that if someone paid for 2 day shipping and is instead getting ground shipping that not only did someone screw up but that's fraud. Thankfully she put me through to her manager. The manager told me that he didn't know what was going on with the situation and said that I'd get the package Monday and if not then then in 5-10 business days. I did tell the manager that I just wanted it sorted out. He said that Amazon would have to call them and they'd have to see the records that Amazon has and go from there. I explain that i was sorry for the choice words to his representative but I'm so sick about calling customer service representatives that are located in the US and getting the same "you don't understand" attitude from them. The only good thing I have to say about the manager is the fact he said he's order an internal review of the shipping procedures, and he's deal with the representative personally for what she said to me. Now whether or not he actually follows through with it is another story. He does know however that I do reviews for items I buy online and I also Rate the shipper as well and that if the issue wasn't resolve I'd comment on the fact that Amazon had said that the order was made with the 2 day shipping option and that UPS is saying that it's being delivered by UPS standard/Ground shipping. He didn't really have anything to say about that. I called Amazon back up about it and the Representative from amazon.ca said that he's going to try to get in touch with the shipping department and see if they can double check everything with my order as well as call up UPS's Canadian phone line tomorrow to see if they can help clear things up. The Amazon Representative also put a not on my file that someone has to contact me on Tuesday Jan 1 2013 to see if the Package arrived on Monday Dec. 31. They said if it doesn't arrive by tomorrow, they will refund me the shipping cost. Again Unreliable Package Shipper insists that it's all Amazon's fault. Regardless, I'll be home all day this week -with various members of my family- so if UPS tries to say that they couldn't deliver the package because I wasn't home, I will call BS. The nearest US store -last time I checked a month ago- was 40 minutes away by car. If UPS screws up and my dad has to drive me all the way over to that store to pick up the package I'll be more than just pissed. Just checked the UPS site and the most recent scan was Concord, ON, Canada, Thursday, 12/27/2012. They said that it was moving along nicely and they knew what province it was en route to. I asked where it was en route to since their website didn't provide this information and they said "you should have it on the second". So they know where the truck is that it's on but they refuse to tell me. Anyway. gonna ask Amazon if I can talk to their shipping department so i can know if they shipped it out as 2 day like the records say.

Broke my fishtank and won't pay to replace

I had a friend ship me a fish tank from Boston to Florida. When it got to my house the side panel that was at the bottom of the box was caved in. I filed a claim over 2 months ago and it's hit a dead end. Every time I contact someone they have no answers for me. I have been told they're waiting on paperwork for months. This is the last time I use UPS and I'm going to exhaust every effort to get the money to replace the fish tank THEY BROKE. Maybe I'm crazy but I believe if you break something you should FIX IT!!!!

I know it must be upsetting that you have a broken fish tank however, you must remember that at UPS as well as FedEx, its all about packaging items correctly. Although you or your friend might think you wrapped it correctly, it might not have met UPS standards.

Once you file a claim, this will be the first thing they investigate and will cause your claim to either be denied or approved. Damage can happen with any carrier, not just UPS.

UPS ignorance

I have three incidents with this company and from now on am going to ask the shipper what company they use to get the product to me. The first time UPS was used I ordered a cello and even stopped by the store and told them to not leave it on the porch and I would pick it up the next day since it was out. The stated that since it was a large package they have to bring it back...and guess what I found on my porch in 100 degree weather, that's right my cello. Second, thing I ordered they said the came to the house three times ( I was there all three days) knocked and no one answered. This time they said they left my contacts on the porch and nothing at all! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!

UPS 2-day air did not arrive on time

Airline ticket was sent via UPS 2day air on Wed Dec 26 for arrival on Friday Dec 28, but did not arrive in time for reserved SWA standby reservation. Since standby tickets are so limited around new year holiday, the seats are no longer available when UPS will deliver the ticket on Monday afternoon. No help from 800-service or local UPS office. UPS could have sent it overnight when they had a mechanical breakdown and realized the letter would not arrive on time. Next I will use FedEx. To make the trip I had to use milage-based ticket on AA, which fortunately still had some room left.

Shipped to the wrong address.

I ordered a backpack from urban outfitters on christmas. Since it was a holiday I had to wait the next day for it to be officially shipped. When it finally shipped i began tracking my order. Yesterday it said my package was delievered and signed for. However, I didn't receieve anything. I had to call UPS and complain. I was told they were going to pick it up and bring it back to me. How can they confuse two completely different addresses? Also, why sign for a package that clearly isn't yours? This is just absolutely extremely ridiculous!

UPS is closed the day of New Years Eve??

First off I want to state I'm not super pissed or anything. I just think this is kind of ***. I have a package being delivered through UPS. It made it from Alabama to Lexington, KY (30 min from my house) very quickly and I have no complaints about that, but it is going to have to sit for the next 5 days because the UPS center (or whatever) in Lexington is not open on Saturdays and they will be closed Mon and Tues for New Years. Now I understand being closed on New Years Day (kind of) but there is no reason whatsoever for them to be closed on the 31st. There are plenty of people with normal jobs that work the 31st and I don't see any reason for THE ENTIRE COMPANY to shut down. Is it so their employees will have ample time to get whatever drinking out of their system and sober up before coming back into work? I understand most UPS employees work very hard and fully deserve as many days off as they can get but give them individual vacation days. The thought of a company as large as UPS shutting down for New Years Eve is just ridiculous to me. there is nothing special about it until night time so why can't they put in a days work? I also think someone should be in their distribution centers on Saturdays if they are not going to make deliveries. Anyway, I'm sure it all comes down to the Union. Next they'll be closed for the entire week between Christmas and New Years as well as Valentines day lol.

How about you *** and take a minute to consider the life of a ups driver who works 10-12 hour days every Christmas eve and the Sunday's leading up to Christmas to make sure that your oh so precious packages make it to your pathetic homes. *** up and get a life.

@PissedConsumer922567

That's their *** job, delivering packages. Thank them for doing what you pay them to do? No delivery on two business days in a row is terrible.

#1086404
@PissedConsumer922567

Oh, poor UPS driver. I've worked as a line pilot for a major airline and have worked ON CHRISTMAS DAY, when I had low seniority. Seems to me that there's no need to take both New Years Eve AND New Years day off.

#592066

They dropped the ball for me too. Placed an order the morning of Dec 27th, paid extra for 2 day shipping.

Order tracking showed shipping label printed on the same day. UPS finally picked up the order on Jan 2nd, a week after the order was placed and the shipping label was printed. UPS tracking number showed the shipping label in their system but not a pick up till the 2nd. Delivery finally occurred on Jan 4th, after the package sat over night on the 2nd/3rd at a terminal 2 hours away.

Package should have been delivered on Dec 29th or Jan 2nd, not Jan 4th. The company I made the purchase from did everything right, but UPS blew it.

#587993

I understand your frustration, however, UPS values family time and allows its employees to spend time with their families. Instead of being upset that they are closed, you should admire that a company actually prioritizes family time, which can't be said for too many companies now a days.

Perhaps you can order your products earlier next time and not during the busiest season. UPS has a calendar every year on their website which clearly illustrates the dates of shipping and what guaranteed days of shipping you are looking at during the holidays....

#587920

I completely agree. My package is currently sitting about 5 miles from my home, at the UPS distribution center until Wed, Thur, Fri, or as if UPS feels I really need a lesson in patience, Monday!

#587846

You can't wait 5 days? Have some patience, it is not a big deal.

#587785

atleast you had time out of your busy day to post this rant, following your own ideal of productivity hmm? or maybe double standard living.. blow it out your ***

#587781

lolololololololol

#587696

Ups drivers will be delivering air packages and nationwide call centers are open. I will be working New Years Eve into New Years Day. Only customer centers are closed and no ground packages are being delivered.
