Ups sucks!!!!

ups and their services suck on every level. you end up chasing your package around the united states of america and if you call the customer service reps they dont have direct #'s so you can find out where you package is...its horrible! I will NEVER, and I mean NEVER use ups again in my life. I am beyond pissed. if i pay for something and then pay extra for it so be shipped quicker/faster then God bless america and expect to receive what i paid for. get it together ups, GET IT TOGETHER! If you ever use ups, keep the receipt urrrrggghhhhhh

Mr Berg

Charged $28 US dollars for shipping and handling for a $23 US dollar part and then charged $20 import charge to get the part at pick up location. This is robbery and should be fined. Other companies like Fed-Ex and Purolator which I use as our business transporters do not charge this import charge on low value made in Canada parts. I will make sure in the future that all company's that I deal with (and that is many US and Canadian company's shipping more than $400 million of parts) do not use UPS for any transporting needs to eliminate this illegal activity Phil

You can be charged taxes by your own government upon importing an item no matter who the carrier is. It's your *** Canadian customs charging you, not UPS. Canadian customs are horribly greedy.

#632304
@PissedConsumer632240

However, UPS charges a huge charge that is way more than the customs fee. If you are using ebay.

Try and avoid any seller that uses UPS.

It is not illegal what UPS is doing. They can charge whatever they want.

Charged for a typo

Our company shipped a package to another company. This company agreed to pay the shipping and provided us their Account number. Either we were given the wrong account number (1 digit off) or our staff person wrote it down wrong. Apparently there is an automatic $12 charge for filling out the number incorrectly! ADVICE: BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN FILLING OUT THOSE LABELS - IF THERE IS ANY MISTAKE IT WILL COST YOU! Customer service at UPS indicated they were able to verify the correct account information for the company we were shipping to and they did bill the company for the shipping. However, we were charged $12 for UPS inconvenience in having to determine the correct account number - even though the phone number for the company to whom we were shipping was written in on the label!

so ups should spend time trying to track down and collect on shipping errors you made? and for free?

where is your responsibility? that sounds efficient.

my guess is you'll pay attention next time, so the $12 was effective. lesson learned.

UPS Claims Dispute Package was picked up by UPS at my home 2/15/13 (Friday) in Delaware The item was wrapped and taped with card board, forming an inner box around the item, then $20.00 worth of bubble wrap was wrapped around that, and then it was placed in a box. The box was not only taped closed at seams but several runs of packaging tape was used to tape in all directions to keep package secure. If the packaging wasn’t adequate the driver should have said so. Item is delivered 2/22/13 (Friday) in California Packaged received at destination after delays by UPS stating address was wrong, which it was not. Receiver calls the evening of delivery and states that the item is broken. I request he take pictures and send, which he does immediately. The following day the claim is filed with UPS 2/23/13 (Saturday). I am told by UPS representative that UPS will either, (1) Inspect the damage at receivers home, or (2) Pick up package and take it to UPS station for inspection, and then I would be contacted. Feb 23 I receive an unknown $12.00 charge from UPS in email March 2nd I receive an unknown $4.62 charge from UPS in email After numerous (6-8) calls to UPS I am finally told the item is on its way back to me. I inquire about the claim/inspection and am told it has not been inspected. March 9th I receive a $91.25 charge from UPS in email (return shipping from California to Delaware). Additional calls are placed and confusion still continues on the part of UPS as to what is going on with this, like the call I received from the Delaware UPS station asking if this package was suppose too be coming to me or going to California? And still no answer regarding the claim. Finally on 3/15/13 (Friday) I receive a voice mail from UPS stating that the claim is denied because of improper packaging. Through the tracking number I see the package is scheduled for delivery on 3/18/13 (Monday). It does not arrive until 3/20/13 (Wednesday). The delivering driver is the same driver that picked up on 2/15/13. The box doesn’t resemble a box, but looks more like a ball of cardboard and tape. Looking at my expression the driver was curious and asked something like “what is going on with this”? I told him the long story as he shook his head throughout. I also told him that the claim was denied which he said was “normal”. I explained the damage, a metal cover that was broken and he stated that in order for that to have happened the box must have been dropped. I asked if he remembered picking up the package on 2/15/13 and he stated that he did, and that it was a late pickup (5pm) and that UPS had sent two trucks to pick up. Yes, he remembered right, because as he was loading the box in his truck that night another UPS truck pulled up. I asked what he thought of the packaging when he picked it up and he stated that “it seemed fine”. Upon my inspection, some of my original packaging materials are not present. So in total about 5 weeks for UPS to handle this from start to finish. As for the damaged item, a replacement cover is probably about $100. If UPS had inspected in California like they said they were going to do and contacted me I could have given the buyer the $100 for a new cover and story over. In addition to all this, since the item was an eBay transaction, and with all of the delay, which I was faulted for, the buyer filed a formal complaint against me with both eBay and PayPal. PayPal decided in the buyers favor, refunded him and back charged my account the selling price and shipping fees, a total of $1053.00. And of course my reputation as a seller on eBay has been tarnished.

That was a box not designed to hold that much weight

The box more than likely had empty space in it. The person that send it back repackaged poorly.

Maybe the package dropped. However your packaging should stand up to that kind of abuse. It clearly did not.

It is said that it broke but it is amazing how few people actually know how to package a box correctly.

#631146

These reviews are FAKE and are not posted by actual consumers, but instead by the owner of the site.

#630958

Ok, for something over 70, bubble wrap is a start, but when it pops, it turns into little more than Saran Wrap, providing virtually no cushioning.

The item should be in a new, or like new bos, which that box is not.

It appears the bubble wrap you used was just stuffed in to and not wrapped around the item.

Your own pictures hurt you, I do not see 3" of space between the item and the sides, top or bottom of the box, nor do I see 3" of cushioning around the item, either, again, that box is not even the right size, it appears it was cardboard made to around the item.

I doubt very few will agree with you after seeing your own pictures of how bad it was packed.

#630421

the "H" on the label reflects a package that weighs 70#+, the packing shown would NEVER support an item that weighs over 70#. all carriers have packing guidelines, this package would never meet the guidelines for any of them.

not only is the box not of sufficient size, the bubble wrap is not sufficient, and worst of all there is no styrofoam to support the item. fact is you packed your item poorly. i don't care what you say a driver told you, unless he had x-ray vision there is no way he would know. the proof is in the way the package looks today.

next time pack properly and/or ask a professional to help you. lesson learned.

#630232

To me, the shape of the box looks like it could have been better, and then maybe all the interior packing that you say you did would have been sufficient. But the box it was packed in looks like it was a "make-shift" box, to begin with.

#630241
@PissedConsumer630232

For what ever reason I can't login except anonymosly right now. You sound like someone from UPS Claims!

The box looks like that after it was bounced by UPS from Delaware to California and back to Delaware and sat who knows where for a about 2 weeks as well. It was a brand new box when shipped, item wrapped and tapped with new sheets of card board, then wrapped with bubble.

Adverse weather conditions

Update by user Mar 29, 2013

they not thay ... ugh *** fingers......

oh and I did forget to mention I checked the recent weather conditions .... I am confused on what they are considering adverse, because what I have been seeing from the reports there are no adverse conditions and sure in the heck not any that require tham to keep the package there for 6 days now

Original review posted by user Mar 29, 2013
according to the UPS tracking program my package that I have to have by Saturday night was scgeduled to be delivered this afternoon, however I now see that the package is still sitting in Indianapolis due to adverse weather conditions, very odd since it arrived there on Saturday morning and was scanned as departing Monday morning, now on the expected delivery date the update shows it still sitting there... WTF really 4 freaking days of adverse conditions? Thanks UPS you lost me a few sales and probably quite a few customers as this was for an organization thay must have it by Monday morning.

Want to speak with an american

I called UPS to set up a package pick up and all I could get was a creature in the in a foreign country. I asked to speak to a red blooded American in the good old USA and the flipping creature would not connect me to an American. If the companies in the U S would stop sending our jobs to foreign countries there would be plenty of jobs for our people. When I call a U S company I want to speak to a U S citizen. If I am connected to a flipping foreigner they are going to get a good old cussing from *** citizen guaranteed.

Terrible customer service

I ordered a package from macys earlier this week. I ordered the shirt I need to wear for Easter. I was under the impression that I was receiving this before Easter. I recently got an email stating I am receiving my package on Monday, clearly after Easter. I proceeded to chat with a UPS representative.he told me there was nothing he could do and refused to help me. I asked if I could pay an additional fee to receive the package before Easter. He told me that they do not do that. Obviously I am frustrated and annoyed; the company is unacceptable and so annoying...way to have great customer service. I am never using UPS ever again; rude and inconsiderate. My live representative's name was Jose D and his pin is NPT5JXD.

Usually this is the fault of the shipper in this case Macy's I buy stuff exclusively online (except for food of course) mainly Amazon but sometimes things from eBay that use UPS. I have had more issues with the USPS than UPS, unless of course the seller ships it a day or so after I get the tracking number, then the weekend screws it up. I hope you get it sooner though, Good luck!

Drivers are apparently delinquents in training

I have waited all afternoon for a next-day package delivery scheduled between 1230 and 3 pm. At 1:45 someone buzzed the apartment door so I released the latch. No one opened the door or came up to knock, so I looked out the window and saw no one outside. Lo and behold, a few minutes later I received an "attempted delivery" notice--the driver had apparently already slapped the ticket on the door before buzzing and running like ***, because I saw no sign of anyone anywhere near the building. Called to complain, and was told "Of course he knocked, and he's already on the other side of town and won't come back, you'll have to wait until tomorrow." Not only do I not appreciate being kept waiting, but I don't care for being called a liar, either. Complaints can't be filed and I'm sure the driver will not only not be reprimanded, but will continue this kind of juvenile delinquent "ring and run" behavior. Completely unacceptable.

Disappointing service

I am extremely disappointed with UPS service. A package was shipped to me from Carson City, NV, back on March 12, 2013, and till today (March 26, 2013) its not delivered. The package was first sent to Windsor for clearance and then they sent to Richmond. They do not have any reasoning of such delay no compensation what so ever. Even today, they say the package will not be delivered and may be tomorrow. Shame on such incompetency from UPS!!! I will never do business with them again. I used USPS before, even they are far better and faster than UPS.

Total Failure at doing business

First, I filled out package information in great detail on-line on many forms and ordered a pickup for about 10 packages. The driver showed up without any of the information so on a freezing day he and I filled out all the forms again on my porch. Then they billed me. I sent a check the same day. They billed again 30 days later with a late charge. I spent more than an hour on the phone to get them to review and "find the payment". They finally did and said they would credit BUT they never did. They sent it for collections. Then they said it was their mistake. They sent it again for collections.UPS was once a great company with efficiency. I had done this all before (about 15 years ago) and it worked perfectly. NOW - they are TOTALLY INCOMPETENT and RUDE and RUTHLESS.The value shown is estimated for my WASTED TIME due to their incompetence (SO FAR).

After filling out the labels online, why didn't you print them out and attach them to the boxes when the driver came ?

You also pay at the time that you fill out the forms online, and all would have been good to go.

THIEF for a delivery guy!!

I can ABSOLUTELY prove this: eBay purchase $66 Hanes nylons. NEVER ARRIVED. Supposedly signed for by "MAX". 1Z05602W0398****** **/13. THERE IS NO MAX!! I'm screwed--eBay's protection won't pay me for loss because "it's signed for" duah. P.S. legitimate drives use LAST NAME! Also, my Chase credit card was "delivered" on 03/11/13 signed by "MAX". Never got the card; card cancelled. UPS has to FIND this jerk and FIRE him; maybe even prosecute him and JAIL him. Habit, Pattern & Practice shows HE is a serial thief at worst / a *** for brains idiot at best. I HATE, HATE, HATE this kind of B.S. I BID, I WIN, I PAY, seller SHIPS, ....never get here what a load of crap.
