UPS in West Palm Beach, Florida - Only received partial delivery

I am a builder and lately I find myself shopping for a lot of my lighting and plumbing fixtures online because the local suppliers don't keep stock. I recently ordered some plumbing fixtures which were shipped UPS ground under 6 different tracking numbers. (We normally see the same UPS driver frequently. in fact when we pass each other on the road he waves. Apparently he's away or something.) All 6 packages where addressed identically with my name and the company name on them but no suite number. The first 2 arrived without incident. The other 4 were returned to the sender and have to be reordered because they lacked a suite number on the shipping label. Our office building is 2 stories, with an elevator and 8 offices per floor. There is a marquis in the lobby with all the names of the businesses and the corresponding suite numbers on it. i guess the substitute driver can't read or use a marquis. More likely, he's lazy. You see the other 4 packages weigh between 50 and 60 pounds. I believe he just didn't want to deal with the heavy package. The delay in the packages is causing me to delay my customer's job. GOOD WORK UPS!

That is the fault of the Shipper for not including the Suite # in the address.

The Driver does not have a suite #, He or She moves on to the next stop.

An incomplete address is not the fault of the Driver, the blame falls on the the Shipper, so complain about them instead.

@Walt

Agreed.

Driver's unfortunately don't have a whole bunch of time like everyone thinks to look for a marquis and try and find the business.

Bought a one of a kind guitar, with the certificate in a travel hardcase from Germany, which it was originally made in the USA, and what makes it unique is being an 8 string model which won't be made again, so it's the only one of its kind. UPS managed to sap me with...

BBB.org. You might be able to get them to help since this is an American company.

This is a government agency designed to provide mediation between consumer and business. It's worth a shot.

I work with UPS Customer Service. What you can do is call back in and have your claim escalated in the form of 2nd request concern, or just a concern.

This way they have a physical record of it and not just a phone call you may or may have not made.

In reguards to the pkgs. Shippers often to take the time and the effort to pack their pkgs for shipping. They usually use the thinnest boxes with little to no packing, then they blame us when things break.

But what they don't realize is that these things get shipped across the country. It literally gets loaded and unload at least 3-5 times, and that's just going ground shipping.

Now take into account that it gets loaded on a semi-trailer with little to no shelves. So it will have things setting on top of it, on the side of it and in with objects that may damage it.

Now, if they prepared the box to survive that, then you would receive you pkg in great condition.

Unfortunately they do not.

Having dealt with this previously I can tell you with 90-95% certainty your goods are sitting at customs. That is what happens with packages like this.

UPS (can't) deliver the package, but they can't send it outside the country without paying customs/duty which they aren't going to do, so it sits at customs.

You might try contacts the local customs office. Sorry I can't be more help.

UPS in Apple Valley, California - Unable to accept signature required delivery because no one at home.

In this day and age, what significance does signature required carry? I ordered from a vendor who states UPS delivery, signature required. That's never been a problem before, the UPS driver just leaves a note if no ones around or calls me. I missed 3 attempts to delivery, never notified by UPS. Signature required is definitely not proof of delivery. Don't people have jobs? Who is going to stay home 24 hours a day, everyday, just to accept a package. As customer service was no help, I was forced to call UPS and have them return a package to sender and lose $280 because no one could be present to sign for it and the hours of the UPS distribution center are basically 8-5 M-F.

Usually ups will leave a tag telling you to come pick the package up or as an alternative, sign the spot on the tag and leave it for the driver the next day as an authorization to leave the package if you won't be there.

You dumb *** mother ***!

First of, signature was required due to the high value of the item and that was requested by the company where you ordered this from! Secondly, if you know you're working the whole week, and this we can't really understand, UPS doesn't force you to skip a work day.

So if you're ordering online or whatever, why don't you just have it delivered to your work address so you can get it? That so ***' simple.

For us anyways. unlike you, we tend to use our brain for something worthwhile!

What hours do people expect UPS to deliver a package? This is a constant complaint but unless you want a package delivered at 10PM UPS works within normal business hours.

Now I realize you work in normal business hours too but if you want to blame anyone blame the shipper who put signature required. Truly though I wouldn't blame them either because they simply want to make sure the package gets to you and they don't get ripped off. Try having packages delivered to your work, a neighbor who you know will be home, work out some other option. Because this is certainly not UPS fault.

They were told do not deliver unless someone signs for it, so that is the rules they have to work in. (By the way, in looking for solutions I would not suggest getting a PO Box as UPS will not deliver to PO Boxes)

UPS in Calgary, Alberta - Maintenance Defect on one of your vehicles - step van 570482

My name is Frank Shreenan and I was following the above vehicle north on the Deerfoot Trail in Calgary, Alberta for about 2 miles at approximately 3:30 pm today, August 1st/2014. I was about 4 vehicles behind the UPS vehicle. Your vehicle was being well driven but whenever the driver accelerated there was a cloud of black smoke which almost obliterated the vehicle immediately behind him. I am not sure what fuel you ordinarily use but based on this one I would guess coal. I assume this was a one time mechanical issue but in an attempt to minimize pollution I wanted to bring it to your attention. Thanks. (403 590 0200) I am not a "pissed consumer" but in order to submit this I had to agree to your 'terms of service' (which I haven't read) I'm just trying to help but contacting you company has been a challenge.

UPS trucks use diesel. Diesel causes black exhaust.

(Just watch the same exhaust billow out when a semi truck starts moving).

This is not a maintenance issue. This is an issue of using diesel.

I do agree however diesel sucks with regards to the environment and companies should be looking for other solutions.
