UPS truck comes, turns in my driveway, leaves, then they say package was delivered!

1.0
Details
Let's see how you beat this horrible UPS experience. I was expecting a package. I was working in my office at the front of the house. I saw the UPS truck pass in front of my house, turn briefly into the driveway, pull immediately out and drive in the direction it came from. A little bit later the UPS tracking page shows the package as delivered! Called Live Chat, they said it was delivered to another house number on the same street, which is several houses down from mine, the truck never made it that far (at the time they said it was delivered). Can you imagine seeing them, catching them in the act, and they still lie! Had I known they do this, I would have videotaped the whole thing, though I really don't understand how this is a market economy, when I need to police the service provider? Please UPS, move to Cuba or China or somewhere else where they never heard of customer service and fulfilling your contractual obligations!

If you had them pack the item to UPS specifications, then UPS should have automatically paid the claim up to the declared value amount, if you had proof of value. If you do decide to use a UPS store in the future, just ask for a copy of the shipping receipt before it ships out; if it is store-packing, below the weight and dimensions will be a line that says "Pack and Ship Guarantee." If it's not there, ask the store why not, and what needs to be done to put it there.

In this case, I don't know what happened, so I can't say for sure that you or the store or wrong here.

It sounds like store is, but if you opted for less expensive but improper packaging, then that might be why the claim was denied, despite the fact that the store physically packed it.

If you did pay the store to pack it to regulation though, you should still have the packaging receipt as proof that the store packed it so UPS can honor the claim. If they packaged it improperly AND neglected to put "center-packed," then this loss for you is on them, not UPS.

Ups delivery van uses handicap parking slot

at 10am on 10/14/2014 i went to get a blood test in san antonio, texas ... i am a disabled vet and authorized to use handicap parking but the only slot available was occupied by a ups delivery van and i have the pix to prove it. unfortunately my cell phone didn't focus adequately on the license plate and truck number but the pic shows the van backed up over the handicap symbol and beside the handicap parking sign, both of which are clearly marked. i wrote ups and lodged a complaint and i'm hoping they'll answer so i can attach the photo for their review. the culprit driver should be easy to 'track' given the time and date of the incident (i gave them the address of the hospital also).

UPS in London, England - Missed placed parcel

2.3
Details
It started Monday October 6th when my girlfriend sent me my bills from the US to the UK. After paying $180 because my friend decided to put in a gift for my daughter and was scheduled for delivery on Wednesday. Nothing came and I got a phone call from UPS needing more information as I might have to pay customs. So, after that was sorted out the woman cleared it and was set to go on the 9th. Well, it is now Wednesday October 15th and it is supposed to be here by noon which I am not holding my breath for as I was told that on Monday for a Tuesday delivery!!! Since last Thursday I talked to 5 people!!! Finally yesterday they found it had been scanned but still didn't know where it was!!!! How ridiculous!!! It seems no matter how nice and understanding all the people I talked were, no one gave me a phone number or anything so I could complain let alone get a refund which after the frustration I have been put through, deserve. Thank you to the person who found an email address which I have already posted a letter to. Will be back on here later if my parcel doesn't turn up.

Delivery Review

This is the worst shipping company I've had experience with in my whole existence. They do not attempt to deliver, they just pretend that you need to sign and put a sticker on the main door. I am tired of their un-services. I am going to avoid getting delivery from them.

UPS refuses to take delivery instructions

1.0
Details
Since Apple will only send iPhones out to the address on file with your phone carrier, and since we cannot get home delivery of mail here, instead having a cluster box as the end of the road forced upon us by USPS, I called Apple to have my street address added to the shipping. They can't per AT&T and suggest I call UPS and let them know the address so they can deliver it. I tried, UPS said I had to call Apple, which said I had to call UPS. Well delivery time came and I got a call from UPS asking where they can deliver it, TOMORROW or the NEXT DAY, or I could drive in and pick it up there (to save them time and money). Tracking info says: "Your package cannot be delivered to a P.O. box. We're attempting to obtain an alternate delivery address." Had they taken my directions in the first place, they would not have to call and ask. Some might say, well they had to make sure, well they had my caller ID just like the manager at the station had, and when told about what transpired, her remarks were, yep, I had 1500 packages to look up today, and Corporate just wants to make my job harder. Funny how FedEx doesn't have the problem taking the info. Complaints have now been filed with UPS CEO and Apple CEO, hopefully they can either fix it, or go back to FedEx. Not to mention the route it took to deliver it, included an unnecessary extra 4,800 miles over what it should have taken.

UPS in Rochester, New York - Signature required on packages that don't require them

1.3
Details
I had bought several things which where sent via UPS. None of the packages I paid for needed to have a signature in order to leave it. However UPS wouldn't allow me to have my own package, without one. I went away and found out that because I hadn't been home that day my package rather than being dropped at my home was sent back to the company because of lack of signature. If packages go back most likely you have to either go find it at a Ups warehouse or have shipper send it back which is extra money. This has not happened once but twice. I called they said they would fix it and never delivered the package on the day they said they would. It was send directly back. So if you UPS service person decided he doesn't want to leave a package he can demand for himself that it must be signed for even if this is not the instructions from the shipper. I believe they are covering their butts. I already paid for my things and now I have to pay more shipping and sit on my butt all day waiting for the UPS guy. They are misusing the rules and then we pay. I live in an apartment building. The office is open that could simply leave package there if they really wanted too but they won't leave my package for me. Instructions say nothing about having to have me sign to get the package. So leave it alright. I tired of calling when I get a final notice when I never received one even before. They are making up their own rules so that you will have to spend more getting package back. I won't use UPS again. They refuse to give me an answer on why they aren't doing their job correctly. Drop of the package and stop asking for a signature that is no needed.

As an employee of ups I can say that the reason why. Is actually very simple.

You live in an apartment building. There is a very disturbing trend of packages either being stolen or grabbed by children. If that happens, the driver is liable. If ups corporate decides that the package was dropped in an unsafe location, the cost comes from the drivers paycheck.

It's all the drivers judgement. If the package seems to be of value, most of the time the package will not be left at an apartment building without a signature. It could also be that the driver felt like they were being followed. There is also a trend of people following ups and fedex drivers and stealing packages left behind.

Aside from that, ups delivers more than 6.5 billion packages a year and we are only human. Don't judge us too harshly.
