Ups - International Shipping Review from Toronto, Ontario

2.9
Details
I used UPS for a move from NYC to Canada to ship 6 boxes. A standard shipping job turned out to be almost a month before I got all my packages. Their first mistake was to give me domestic waybills for international shipment. 3 of the boxes got here and 3 other were no where to be found. After I called less than helpful and rude customer service that spoke to me the customer with attitude they told me "those packages you received weren't even supposed to be there".....ok. Then they asked me to fax invoices which was fine but could have told me beforehand. One package got sent back to my original address no notification or email or call to me to provide an invoice. Had to spent more money to schedule a pickup for that one. If you have policies please ensure you are consistent in them. Finally, wanted to change the phone number of my receiver tonight. Customer service agent was so rude and refused to do anything saying I already had a phone number there. Told her it was the wrong phone number and she told me they can't change it. Fair enough I tell her to leave a note and she asks me what the point is. How is that customer service??? If there was no point why have the option to fill out that number in the first place? Told her I don't see what the big deal is about changing a phone number... So unyielding and no responsibility from agents and UPS in general. This is not a stretch when I say I will never use UPS again and have already shared this negative experience with sympathetic family friends and coworkers to convince them not to use UPS either.

UPS is going down the tubes quickly

We have been a UPS customer for almost 20 years. We have always had a stellar payment history and relationship with UPS. In Dec of 2013, unknown to our company, UPS apparently did not receive a payment of $ 114.01 from two invoices at end of year. NO ONE ever mentioned anything to us even though we continued to make our regular invoice payments in Jan, Feb, and Mar of 2014. If we were trying to stiff them, why would we continue to make each and every payment there after. They cannot see the trees for the forest. We did receive a call from a distant land with a seemingly fraud-like voice saying we owed UPS money from Dec 2013 and demanded a credit card over phone to settle account. Obviously, we considered this call a scam since we had ‘always made our payments’ in a timely fashion. No one ever called or visited domestically even though any missed payment would have been an obvious anomaly in our account. Now, I will advise that the subsequent invoices that we were continuing to get and pay each week did state an outstanding balance, but because we pay things bi-weekly, they are always passing in the mail - at least for the last 20 years. One day our World Ship notified us that we did not have weekly pickup. We thought this odd (remember, we are unaware of any issue). I call UPS and they inform me that our account is suspended. Once we go back and look that the check from 90 days ago never cleared our bank, we put two and two together and got four. But UPS cannot count because they could not put two and two together. I tried to explain to UPS and had a copy of the check that was mailed to them on Dec 30 2013 and gently asks that we be put back on active status and just send me copies of the invoices and we would pay (once again) and all would be good. Took them over a week just to get me the invoices and after we paid - some three weeks later, we were still suspended (????). Turns out that someone finally tells us (not before) that we needed to make a deposit of four times the original invoice to get back in good standing ???? WHAT ?? Not only is this ludicrous, but also NEVER told us this was a requirement and some three + weeks later when we inquire why we are still suspended, they tell us because a deposit is required of $450+. Today, they have "decided" to waive the deposit but gave us grave warning that next time the deposit will be required. Have not told them, but there will not be a next time because the time they treat us as common criminals, we will no longer be their customer. Another tragedy is when you need to speak to some ne, they have farmed out their CS overseas, but this is another subject for another day. After searching for over one hour to try to talk to a domestic rep, I was appalled by the cavalier and wicked posture taken against me on the phone by this female in management. When they went public, they ceased to be a company that served their customers. Soon, they will replace their hardworking employees with temps and I estimate that by 2022, UPS will crumble upon itself due to their blatant disrespect for their bread and butter. The time is RIPE for a new company to come in and start picking up the pieces.

Package Review

drivers have no cell phones ( can't call when they arrive) and won't deliver after 5, and give 5 hour windows. I live in an apartment building and would have to wait downstairs ( no buzzer system here) for 5 hours while taking a day off work to get a package from this shipper. Or go and get it from them 45 min drive away- I won't buy only if UPS is shipping , no point

UPS and their cheating

I sold a chandelier in November of 2014 through E bay. The package was signed for on the 12/2/14, I got an email from the person whom had received the package on the 4th February 2015 to say that 3 of the arms on the chandelier were broken, E bay has a policy that if you have a problem, you have 30 days to make a complaint, The customer surpassed this by 34 days, I suggested she get in touch with UPS and make a claim, They will come to your home and make an inspection, The customer in February took the box to UPS for inspection, The got in touch with me and told me that it was not packed to their specs, They shipped the package back to me, Now the customer has had this package more than two months, It was paid for in November, I got the parcel back with the chandelier in it and lots more damage to it, They told me it was my problem because it was not packed correctly, And written on the box was that the reason for return , Receiver did not want, refused delivery. Now I have all the paper work and original papers showing that she signed for this in December 2nd 2014. How can UPS tell me the Receiver refused delivery ? I feel like they have made a mistake, They should have carried out the inspection at the receivers address and not the UPS shop. They should have repacked the Chandelier as per their specs, I have been in touch with the Insurance company and UPS, but they are not interested. Who.s package is this now. Who is responsible for this package ? UPS. The receiver, or me ?

UPS in Houston, Texas - Damaged goods

My Father sent me his,(now mine),chess set. Bronze pieces in a small simple wooden box, legs, frame. The board is made of marble. He purchased this in 1968 while in Germany. He was cautious and paid EXTRA to "double" pack it and insure the idem for $400. when I received the box it was literally crushed open on one side. All pieces made it safe except the marble board, the corner was smashed into small pieces and dust. UPS gave me two options...get it "repaired" at a cost of up to $400, or get $400 for a replacement. First and foremost you can not repair the damage...you could prevent it from getting worse and make it look better then now. But it would not look like it did before UPS. You would also have to do all the research for the repairs and take the time to see all the repairs out... BUT...They would take the damaged from you. Really? I did not damage this idem. I did not ship it. I just want the chess set that I fondly remember as a child, so can pass it along to my children. In my opinion I should get the $400 repair the idem as well as possible regardless of the cost, more or less. The board will never look the same.

Ups - Equipment Shipping Review from Camdenton, Missouri

2.8
Details
The UPS is delivering my packages to a neighbor instead of my house. I have a sign with #78 at the end of my lane and he delivera up the hill. 1 was an expensive piece of equipment of 800.00 and the other was my direct express card with my social security of 1200.00. There would have been a 2000.00 loss if I had not a honest neighbor. Then I went up to UPS and was completely ignored in the Camdenton Missouri store. Something needs to be done. FedX has no problem finding me.

UPS said they delivered the "Final Attempt" when I have been sitting in my studio all day waiting. There was no Info Notice on the door and nobody knocked. When I called the person said that the time checked (2-5pm) was just an estimate and they already tried at 11:30!...

Drivers cannot predict the future.

All they can do is is try to give a "best guess" as to what time their route will get them to the address.

I ordered two phones from Sprint and they told me that the phones would arrive in 2-5 days. That was on the 15th of Feb. My order was sent to UPS and when I tracked the order it told me it was in Kentucky where it was being shipped from. The package was shipped from Louisville Kentucky 5 hours from where I live in Ohio. The tracking website said that the package would be delayed due to weather. Oh ok thats understandable but by how long? So I call UPS and they tell me that the package should only be a day late. Normally it would take 2 days so I think ok sweet 3 days isn't bad. So the 18th comes and goes with nothing. The 19th nothing so I call again and they tell me that it won't be here till Monday. Ok whatever. Here we are Monday and I wake up and check the status. No delivery date available however it does say that the last location was it arrived in Middleburg Heights, OH. So I call again and the lady tells me that it should be here tomorrow. Well I have heard tomorrow since last week so I ask her is there anyway that it could come today and she says yes but more than likely it will be tomorrow. I have gotten shipments sent through the mail that have gotten here faster and the mail deliverers have to walk from house to house no matter what the weather looks like. Will never use UPS again it is USPS or FEDEX for me from now on. If a sender is going to use UPS I will not order from them.
