Ups - Package Review from North Vancouver, British Columbia

1.0
Details
How can a company this large not be able to accept credit card payments online. With DHL I'm notified of the customs charges, I login and pay the fee online. Then I can select to have the package left at my door. With UPS I'm told they can take a payment, but it take 2-3 days to process. How can it take that long to run a credit card. Also, they have no way of notifying the driver if I do pay. So I'm being told, not to pay the UPS agent on the phone and wait for the driver, otherwise I'll end up paying twice. This is going on the second day of making a family member wait at home until a driver shows up. Get with the times UPS or your company will disappear.

UPS in Chicago, Illinois - Must Know Their Place

When delivery arrived, I -an intern- was unsure on whether I was allowed to sign for the package. I had just turn of age, so I knew that I was legally allowed to sign it; however I was unsure whether I could sign for business affairs. While asking my boss whether I could, the man cut me off and started to comment on my supposed bad manners/behavior. I was asking my boss these questions in a language he did not understand; not only was his accusations incorrect, but he had ridiculed me in front of patients and coworkers. It left a bad impression not only on the clients in the waiting room, but I was later lectured by my employer for "creating a bad environment" as a receptionist. And yet, the deliveryman had the audacity to tell me to fix my behavior if I wanted to maintain this job and to "have a nice day".

Driver's are given two minutes per location to make a delivery, regardless of the number of packages being delivered. Also, seeing that your boss seemed to think you were being rude, isn't there an outside chance that you were, in fact, being rude to the delivery driver?

UPS in Toronto, Ontario - Negligent ***; Intellectually Challenged Company

Well... what hasn't happened with UPS. I have a few incidents that I'd love to talk about here. The first is that UPS sent one of our shipments to the wrong places. We then had the guy who received the package call us and try to "blackmail" money out of us to buy back our own product because UPS didn't read the address on the box correctly. They also didn't take responsibility for the incorrect shipment. FAIL #1. What I'm currently dealing with: I filed a claim for UNDER $100.00 which may not seem like a lot but I cannot afford to be out this money. UPS lost one of our packages and we filed a complain which they had 8 days to resolve. On the eighth day, they sent us a photo from when THEY removed my property from the shipping box. The box should NOT have been opened. Some of the contents arrived broken with the broken bits NOT even in the shipping box. I took enough time and effort wrapping the contents myself to ensure the models make it to their destination unbroken, even with rough shipping, and I've never had that type of product break in transit. I cannot guarantee UPS took the same care when re-wrapping and re-shipping my shipment to the receiver. They then, refused the claim I filed because they classified the product in the box as "ceramic" which it is technically NOT. Had the contents (which were animal models) been broken while in shipment, the broken tails would have been in the shipping box and the models would be able to be repaired. However, due to UPS' careless handling or not paying attention, materials, i.e. the missing tails were NOT in the box and were missing upon arrival at the destination. The receiver looked thoroughly through the box as they are capable of making the repairs that I mentioned. FAIL #2. I encourage you NOT to use them if you can avoid it. Their telephone people are nice enough to deal with but they fail to resolve issues and they start issues where they really should just own up and deal with a small claim.

UPS in Melrose Park, Illinois - Poor customer service.

I have package that was shipped from a store on May 18, 2015, after a week I was wondering what happened with the package I bought from the store. I called the salesperson and asked where's my packaged and she gave me the tracking number. I called the UPS and transferred me to a customer service, so I gave the tracking number and they said it was in a warehouse and told to pick it up from the warehouse. I told them that I had it shipped to my house not in the warehouse and I paid for the shipping so I wanted to be delivered in my house since I'm not driving. But he still insisted for me to go pick up in the warehouse. So I said I wanted to be delivered in my house so he said to be delivered on Tuesday June 2, 2015. Today is June 3 but unfortunately nothing is delivered. I'm so disappointed with the service two weeks waiting still undelivered package. Customer is good as nothing.doesn't even apologized for the hassle, and inconvenience. Paid $27 for the delivery, which is not worth. This should be refunded. No more for UPS poor service!!!!

A UPS delivery driver left a package at the front door or my apartment at 8:06 pm... well that's what they claim. I never got the package. Who leaves packages in the open at apartments? UPS does.

I am in Canada. Package I didn't request came from US. Driver asked for $58. I said send it back. Then bills started requesting 58. Each time I called UPS and was told problem fused. Now bill collectors are demanding payment. UPS had me on hold, back and forth for hours. They don't know how to fix issue as file has no record of other calls and promises of closure from UPS. This cd damage my credit rating. May go to lawyer or small claims court...any other ideas?

If the driver feels that leaving the package might lead to the package potentially being stolen or damaged, they will not leave it. After the first discretionary act of not leaving it, they are unable to leave it for the next two attempts.

The three most likely reasons they didn't leave it are because it looked like something valuable was inside, there was no good place to hide it from the street view, or someone was acting suspiciously nearby. It is also possible that you have filed a claim in the past, or there have been claims of lost packages in the neighborhood or area.

If a driver leaves a package and something happens to it, then most of the time, UPS is going to make the driver pay for the cost of the missing package.

UPS in Fargo, North Dakota - Screwed over twice in a row!

1.0
Details
I recently ordered a keyboard tray through an office supply store who shall remain anonymous as they are not at fault. Anyway, it was due to arrive to my apartment on the day after memorial day. However, when I was waiting for the delivery to arrive on the aforementioned day, I received an email, saying that my package had been delivered the previous friday! Plus, when I went to check for the package, I was unable to locate it! Frustrated, I called UPS to see what was going on. The person on the phone said that the driver had tried buzzing the unit (I live in an apartment building) left a note on the door the day prior to the delivery and that when he came back it was signed so he left the package by the door. The thing is, this NEVER ACTUALLY HAPPENNED! Every day after I ordered it, I checked the dropoff location for boxes or notes and there was never anything there. Also, the driver never buzzed my unit because I was home on thursday and friday and never got buzzed. After explaining all of this to the person on the phone, she said that my order was delivered so it was no longer in the driver's custody, but she could have the driver go back and check the drop off location today to see if he could locate the package. I said sure and proceeded to wait until 8 PM and guess what? THE DRIVER NEVER SHOWED UP! Finally, I said to *** with it, and called the company I ordered the product from and explained the situation to them. They were very helpful and reordered the product for me having it shipped to their local store this time. However, once again it was to be shipped through UPS. Since I was feeling a little bit forgiving as I can understand a mistake every once in a while from a big company like UPS, I agreed to have it shipped to the store. Once again, UPS screwed up however. I received a call from UPS telling me that my order had been dropped off at the store, so after work that day, I stopped by the store to pick up my order, but, lo and behold, the package had NOT, in fact, been delivered. The worker at the store explained that a lot of the time, UPS will mark an item as shipped before actually putting it on the truck, so it would probably be another day to get my order. After all of this, I am sick and tired of all of this *** I will never again buy anything from a company that only offers UPS Shipping and will never use UPS to ship anything either. Plus I will tell all of my family and friends not to use it either, because if this is the kind of service you can expect from them, they aren't worth the money you spend on them.

Ups - Package Review from Houston, Texas

my address is 4341 Southwest Freeway Houston Texas 77027. and for some reason your drivers can never find this address. What's even more frustrating countless times they have stated that no one was at this address to receive the package, or the address is invalid. I am the property manager at public storage, so I also have quite a few tenants that receive deliveries from UPS, and the drivers are say the same thing. today I was supposed to receive a delivery and the driver put it in the notes that I was not present to receive the delivery at 5:20. I've been sitting by the window waiting on the driver who never showed up it is very frustrating and unprofessional

First off, it is not a good idea to post your address on a public internet site, much less one UPS does not monitor.

In the future, have Public Storage and your name both on the address label.

I would be confident doing the above will get your items to you.

UPS in Brooklyn, New York - TERRIBLE Customer Service

1.5
Details
Every once I a while UPS service is fine and they do what they purport to do. Other times, particularly if you have to call and work with customer service, they are obtuse, inconsistent, and utterly unhelpful. I recently had to reschedule a delivery from Amazon. I tried to do so first via My UPS online, but was unable to. I called UPS who said that this was because Amazon had not provided some needed information and that if I wanted to reschedule a delivery I should do so by calling them. After I missed the first delivery attempt (Thursday night) I called them as advised the next morning, rescheduled the delivery for Monday, and paid their fee. The rep did not bother to tell me that the package was already on the truck and it would still be attempted for delivery that day anyway, so there was NO POINT in trying to reschedule. I was out of town and received a text later in the day that a 2nd delivery attempt had been made -- exactly what I was trying to avoid. I called UPS again, first requesting that my redelivery request just be honored (and counted as a second delivery attempt in case I missed them again Monday) since I paid the fee (and was not informed that it would be pointless), but the rep I spoke with said there were 'no guarantees' then started angrily arguing back at me when I refuted this response. All she could say is 'nothing is guaranteed' and 'someone will call you Monday morning at 9.' Why is it so hard to acknowledge a mistake and provide a service you claim to provide? Not satisfied, I called Amazon who called UPS again. I was informed by UPS via Amazon that if I miss the delivery again on Monday, I could call Amazon and, again, request another delivery. I then CALLED UPS AGAIN to request a refund for the fee paid for a service I was never going to receive. Apparently this is also mired in complications: Amazon telling me it's a UPS thing, and UPS telling me only Amazon can request that. Then I spoke with a UPS supervisor who tried to make sure I would be reimbursed the fee paid for the botched redelivery service, but just said, call the billing department when they're open. At some point in this debacle, the delivery was rescheduled for Tuesday, WHICH I NEVER REQUESTED. UPS again blamed Amazon, which I found highly unlikely. I had never spoken to anyone about rescheduling for Tuesday. How could this have happened?? AND I still had to follow-up and call them to make sure I am not charged for the ONE AND ONLY delivery rescheduling I tried to make. On the following Monday I finally spoke with two competent people who were able to make sure I would not be charged for service I did not receive. (To add to the annoyance, when I called to follow-up on this, they kept referring to the Tuesday delivery as the rescheduled service.) Every time I spoke with a UPS rep - except for supervisors, who seemed able to comprehend the issue - they constantly interrupted me and seemed to not really understand the problem. It felt like the majority of my time on the phone with them was spent trying to explain the situation in different ways so that they could understand. I, the customer, had to do so much work to help them assist me for customer service issues they should be able to address. Oh, and then there was the time UPS left a package with someone in my building (which was not authorized) without leaving an InfoNotice, which then led to another gross waste of time trying to locate it. What a horrible waste of time and so dysfunctional. I DREAD ever having to talk to UPS customer service again.
