Ups Shipping Review

My parcel got delayed and didn't get delivered and when I phoned to get a rough time the lady said residential deliverys are between 3pm to 7pm, the driver turned up at 2.10pm which meant I wasn't at home, and the customer service people are so rude and no point in them being there!

UPS Croatia - unreliable

I had a package to be delivered on Friday, which I couldn't wait for, so I called them and asked to be delivered on Tuesday. They said no problem, they would come on Tuesday between 4 and 6 p.m. So I hurried home from work to wait for delivery, and when they didn't show up, I tried to call the customer support service. It took ca 30 mins to talk to someone saying it's on delivery. Waited for another 2 hrs, still no one showed up. Checking web site found out that they lie about activities concerning shipment process - I have not requested they hold the package for future delivery date - 5 times!!!

Absolutely incompetence has been demonstrated by this courier service! Poor customer communication, unreliable drivers, no apology or compensation given! They don't know if they let a stranger sign and take my parcel or lost it in transit?? I mean how can anyone take this company seriously? I will not be purchasing products with the know leg that UPS is the courier!

UPS New Tag line - "United Problem Solvers" Oh how the irony rages on...

1.7
Details
Below is an actual call I made to UPS to determine why they would not use my credit card on file to pay an international shipment done a month earlier. Customer to UPS Accounts Receivable Dept.: "Hello, This is Mr. Smithers account number A78KYJ, I received a collection letter today regarding my recent shipment with UPS. Apparently I owe you $110 for my international brokerage account." "Any chance you guys could actually take the money from my Credit Card you have on file?" UPS Rep: "Just one moment sir, that's not my problem, let me put you through to Accounts Receivable." (Annoying UPS advertising) AR Rep: "UPS, Rita here, what seems to be the problem?" Customer: " This is Mr. Smithers, account number A78KYJ I'm just trying to pay an invoice on line and your site won't allow me to do that" AR Rep: "Hmm, now that's a problem isn't it?" "Hold on one moment while I put you through to customer service." (More annoying UPS advertising) Customer Service Rep: "UPS, Bill speaking, how may I help you today?" Customer: "Bill, Mr. Smithers here, account number A78KYJ, I was just trying to pay a bill and finally got through to Accounts Receivable and then they transferred me to you. I just want to pay a friggin invoice." CSR: "Oh my, now that's a wee bit of a problem. I'm afraid I'll have to put you through to our AR department. One moment please." Customer: "BILL, DON"T PUT ME ON HOLD...." (Oh, god no!, More annoying UPS on hold advertising) AR Rep: "UPS Accounts Receivable, Rita speaking, how may I help you?" Customer: "Rita????" Didn't I talk to you earlier?" AR Rep: “According to my records, you were talking to Roberta. Let me transfer you now.” Customer: “DEAR GOD NO.... DON’T PUT ME ON.... (Please don’t be the advertisement about on-line payment processing and the great convenience it provides customers...) Roberta: “Roberta Speaking, how may I help you?” Customer: “Roberta, do you know how hard it is to actually pay an invoice with UPS?” Roberta: “I’m sorry you’re having some problems sir. If you would like I can put you through to our customer service department, one moment please...” (Louder and more obnoxious UPS on-hold advertising touting their high level of customer service for small business owners) CSR: "UPS, Bill speaking, how may I help you today?" Customer: “Bill, it’s me again, Smithers, account number A78KYJ, do you remember me, I’ve been trying to pay an invoice for the last 32.6 minutes, DO NOT PUT ME ON HOLD, LISTEN TO ME NOW!!!!!” I just want to pay an invoice that should have been paid on-line using the credit card I gave your firm years ago and you've been using to charge my international shipments too. If you put me on hold again I swear to god I will hunt you down and insert my credit card in the smallest body opening I can find on that scrawny little chassis you call a human form!!!!” CSR: “Sir, I understand your frustration and I’m here to help. All I need is your name, address, phone, Social insurance number, height, weight, eye colour and GPS coordinates.” Customer: “Uhhh, come again?” CSR: “That’s right, all I need is your name, address, phone number, height, weight, eye colour, social insurance number and GPS coordinates.” Customer: (Sobbing uncontrollably and offering personal details as requested ) “Oh thank you Bill... I don’t know what I would have done had you put me on hold again, why is it such a problem to pay one tiny little invoice on-line?” CSR: “Well sir, it appears as though your calling from Canada, I’m afraid you’ve reached UPS Atlanta, you’ll have to call UPS Canada Customer Service hotline at 1-800-742-5877. Have a good day sir.” “CLICK” Customer: “BILL, BILL, DON’T LEAVE ME BILL, PLEASE DON’T LEAVE ME.....” (Client is now writhing on his office floor in convulsions weeping openly for all of his colleagues to witness) FAST FORWARD TWO HOURS LATER: Policeman through a bullhorn outside: “Mr. Smithers, this is special agent Campbell from the Tactical SWAT Unit.” Put the UPS driver down, remove the credit card from his anal cavity and step away from the stapler!” We know you have problems, but my team and I are here to help, think of us as your “United Problem Solvers”... As far as the new UPS slogan goes... I just have one question; Where was the lifeguard when the advertising genius, who thought of this new slogan, jumped into the Gene pool?

You were expecting a Butler to know you were coming and to give you your item on a Silver Plate?

I presume there were others in front of you waiting to be served and you did not feel a need to wait your turn?

I ordered a box of checks from bank. Paid extra for 4 day delivery. 7days later...no checks. Bank makes calls, ups can track the order until it gets to Jackson ms. Then it seems to have been pulled into a black hole, or sent down a wormhole. No one knows what happened to my order. They are investigating. Is it really this hard to ship things?

to be perfectly honest, while i understand your frustration, I think your language was very demeaning. It is not hard to imagine that this one CSR in a completely different part of the country than the hub could only do a few things to make sure your package got delivered in the way you wanted.

I worked in shipping and ill tell you that the lines of communication are at best flawed. The best option in situations like these is to hold for pickup.

NEVER TRUST UPS WITH STEM CELLS

Needed Stem Cells for an operation on an animal. Well, the UPS man just left the package in the lobby and had the "DESK" sign for the package at 9:28 a.m. We had been waiting all morning. Around 12:00 noon, I just happen to look in the lobby and low and behold there was the package, marked on the box "PERISHABLE & STEM CELLS INSIDE". I called UPS to file a complaint and the UPS supervisor said, "We spoke to the driver, what more do you want us to do? He was a replacement driver." Really? I told the UPS supervisor that their UPS drivers leave packages all the time in the front lobby and most of the time we never know they have even came until 5:00 when it is time to go home. They are famous for that. But really, leaving a box marked "PERISHABLE & STEM CELLS INSIDE" in a front lobby, never notifying anyone in the building that they were ever there?

I don't understand your complaint. UPS delivered the package to the correct address at the correct time, and it was signed for in the lobby.

No delivery service tracks down a specific person to sign for a package. Also, if the package was so important, why would you wait until noon to check and see if it had arrived?

And why did the person in the lobby not contact you to tell you that it had arrived? Or, if there wasn't a person in the lobby, how was the driver supposed to know that this one package couldn't be left like the others?

UPS in Carmel, Indiana - Delivery

2.3
Details
My package took 10 days to go from California to Indiana. I needed it 5 days ago, which it said it was guaranteed to arrive then. I didn't get it when I needed it, so I checked the tracker. No updates, except it now had the "guaranteed" arrival date missing. No news for two days, but on the third it said that severe weather had caused the delay. I checked the weather, there were thunderstorms, light showers, and even a few partly cloudy hours. The place it was held up at due to "severe weather" was 3 hours from where I live. They then send me an update that it had just left this place that was 3 hours from I live at 8 in the morning. Which means it should be here by 11:00 or 12:00, right? Nope. It's not that I didn't get it until 4:00 or anything, I just didn't get it. I get an update telling me my "guaranteed" arrival date is now at the end of the day in two days. Doing the math, this means that it is literally taking them 60 hours to make a 3 hour drive. But there's more: I still haven't gotten it. The UPS truck came on the day it was supposed to arrive and I didn't receive my package, so I talked to the delivery man. A nice guy, but he told me that my package was now arriving the next day. So here I am, sitting here, still waiting for a package that was supposed to arrive 5 days ago. I reworked my plans so that I could account for not getting it 5 days ago and made it so that if I had it today, it would still work out. But now, I am forced to show up empty handed without my product. Thanks UPS. You've never failed to fail on me. Time to start using FedEx.
