Special handling and insurance has no meaning for UPS

I wanted to ship a keyboard through UPS, so bought a packaging box from UPS store, packed it in bubble wrap and packed it securely for delivery to my grand daughter. They charged me for special handling(put "Fragile" sticker on it) because of the size and its contents; also charged me for its declared value of $1500. Lo and behold it was damaged on the way, so when my grand daughter opened it, there were loose screws in the box, couple of keys were broken and when plugged in, it did not work. I complained to UPS and demanded the insurance compensation. They had a third party outsourced firm get in touch with me. The company could not be bothered to come and inspect. Instead they asked me to send pictures of the damaged item, which I did. After receiving them, they denied the claim. When I contacted UPS to question their denial, the rep told me that the item was not packed according to their specs and the fact that we charge you for special handling and ask you to declare the value( for which there is a separate charge) is only for informational purpose; it does not mean it is insured.When I questioned about how they could determine that it was not packed properly (also that too only from pictures), the guy said that I should have consulted their website about packaging instructions. To that I replied, the receiving agent did not question who packed it, how was it packed, did I check their website to meet packing requirements? Nothing. Just took in the shipment and various charges. All this was even more necessary because when she asked me for its value and charged me extra for that, in addition to the regular shipping and special handling charge, I had every reason to believe that it is insured. I was told that if I wanted to challenge the denial I should get the UPS store I shipped from file a claim. The store filed the claim which was again denied. So all in all, UPS not only misrepresents what they are charging for, their agents do not provide information or advise customers to consult their website for their their specifications and requirements for packing items for shipment. Above all, the additional charges are misrepresented as coverage for damages enroute, when in fact, based on their denial, they are not. The fact that UPS mishandles packages including the ones marked "Fragile" was caught on camera and broadcast on ABC World News in its prime time evening news on December 18, 2016. This gives a real cause for concern on how UPS packages are handled and in the case in point, there is every reason believe that the package did not get the care and proper handling it deserved especially when you see screws lying around loose within the packaging.

LAZY *** DRIVER

On 4/13, around 630pm, my neighbor came by the house to drop off a vehicle for me, I got the keys from him and then went upstairs to put on my shoes. 5 to 10 minutes later, I opened the garage and got the vehicle which was parked on the street in front of the house. I noticed a box near the door, made sense, I was expecting a package. What struck me as odd was, ups ALWAYS rings the doorbell when they deliver. The only time the doorbell rang that evening is when my neighbor came by. At 6:40pm I get text update, "your package was delivered" at 6:31pm. So he must have just missed my neighbor by a hot minute. At 7:20pm I receive another text that says "delivery attempted an rescheduled for 4/14 between 3:30pm and 7:00pm" TBC

I filed a claim with UPS. I shipped a package on December 19th to be sure it arrived before Christmas.

UPS lost a Christmas package to family that had 6 gift cards with a total value of $600.00. They send me a notice it was delivered and 2 days later changed the notice to pending. The package was lost in their Jacksonville Facility. After 4 phones calls, and a on-line claim they finally decided to reimburse me the shipping fees.

They would not honor their on policy of insuring a package for a minimum of $100.00. I am getting a refund for $11.46 shipping cost.

I escalated to a supervisor who would do nothing either. They continue to say they do not reimburse for gift cards even though I provided the purchase receipts.This is lousy customer service and I will be changing to FED EX or any other competitor they have.

Ridiculous delays in shipping, packaging that is clearly labeled "FRAGILE" on all sides of the box is NOT being taken note of, many packages arrive smashed. I have witnessed drivers literally toss fragile packages on the porch and "knock" on my wooden deck before leaving rather than walking up the 3 stairs to knock on the door. Multiple times I have had packages delivered to wrong address and had to go puck it up from other peoples homes myself.

I was expecting an overnight envelope but it was delayed for a week. Followed up with email and calls but was told due to Thanksgiving, volume is high and just wait for it to arrive.

Envelope arrived one week late and it was opened, and taped back up. While on the phone with UPS representative on why the envelope was opened, was just told they cannot control it if someone opened the envelope and they wouldn't know who did, since 'so many' people work at UPS. Then she said, oh, you can just ask the shipper to cancel the credit card and resend one.

I did not share the content was a credit card nor does the label indicates it was sent from a bank. It's horrifying and unacceptable, that an opened envelope is of no consequence to them and they outright tell you that there is no control over someone committing a crime of opening an envelope/package.

The driver is incompetent and doesn't know how to find a house two doors down. And he doesn't care. I had to do his job for him. His excuse, "there is only one house on the street". Really? Because I have two neighbors and the package wasn't even at their house so that makes at least four houses on the street. If I have to do his job then the sender should be reimbursed the shipping cost.

I'm sitting at home can see the truck right outside my house and they went to my neighbors house and when they drove off I was like where is our package I checked my tracking number and said failed delivery attempt #2 but today I was home omg this *** me off so bad we called them and we have to wait until Monday this is *** get drivers who look at the correct addresses on homes and packages

Ups is the WORST!! I sent my tv with them since i was moving to another state and i even pay the insurance that the UPS store sold me... so when i received my TV it was broken and know they dont want to take responsability for it. They looked at the tv, after i called them for 2 weeks every day... and they said the package was not appropiate when it was in the original tv box and i even searched in their online packaging guidelines and my package had everything it said in there. What makes me even more mad is the fact that they treat you like your the bad person who only wants money from them, when what you want is for them to take responsability for their actions. Im NEVER sending a package with UPS. NEVER!

I feel sorry for businesses that lose money with UPS

UPS claimed to have delivered the item on April 26. UPS claimed it was left on the dock and signed for by FATH. We have no dock, and there was no one home. I requested a refund through Amazon, which I received. On May 3, UPS delivered the item. This time we were home, and the item was handed to a person in this household. UPS again stated the item was left on the dock, and signed for by FATH. The package obviously got lost in their system. I feel sorry for the sellers who lose money using UPS to ship their items. They pay for a service they are not getting.

UPS doesn't accept packages at their own customer counters!

UPS was founded originally as the most economical and efficient option to pickup and deliver packages. As a former employee, I understood it's primary mission to service the packages as both a pre-loader and driver and to do it with a smile like the customer is actually important. Well things sure have changed for the worst since I worked for the company from 1987 - ****. First, let me be blunt, I detest this company to the fiber of my being. I will never do business with them if it can be avoided. Here is my story. I had an over-sized package weighing 49 lbs (it was a mostly disassembled office chair) to drop off with a prepaid label and searched online for the nearest UPS Customer Center. BTW, all UPS hubs have these unless things have changed over the last 15 years. OK, great there is one about 5 minutes away from my home in the Independence area off of 170 in the northwest region of Dallas, TX. This is the online locator information: UPS Customer Center UPS C/C -INDEPENDENCE HUB 13700 INDEPENDENCE PKWY, FORT WORTH, TX, 76177-**** Tel: 817490**** Latest drop off:Ground: 8:00 PM | Air: 8:00 PM I load up the package in the trunk of my car and of course its sticking way out. I get there and the attendant tells me they are not accepting packages here. I said, really, isn't this a customer counter? She says yes it is but we can't accept packages here. I said and why didn't it say that online? She had no answer. It has been like this since 2014. Apparently the customer counter area is under construction. Now, go back up or check online yourself and notice it DOES NOT say packages are not being here. OK, what angered me is a company as big as UPS should have said online package drop off is temporarily suspended at this location until further notice. Had I seen that I would have bypassed and gone to the nearest UPS store which BTW is 20-30 minutes away from my home. I wan't about to go there without verifying they would accept, so I had to go back home, call the UPS store to find out if they would accept it. They told me it was too large and I would need to drop at Dallas Fort Worth Airport main hub. OK, this is completely unacceptable so you can only imagine I am furious by now. I convinced the guy that it is not beyond the limits of over-sized packages at least it wasn't when I used to work for them. I drove to the UPS store and they almost didn't accept it. After telling them the gentleman I talked to on the phone said it could be accepted and the fact that the Alliance UPS hub wouldn't accept it they took pity on me. Folks, when I worked for these people they treated you like you were a number. It is obvious that customers are treated the same. Stay away from this company at all costs. Use FedEx ground or air. Horrible company to do business with.

Ups - Notarization Review

I came in to get my business incorporation notarized. I did it once before and it only took 3 minutes. All I had to do was ask them for notarization and they did it. The first notarization they messed up because they didn't understand that I needed a different type of notarization. So I then had to reprint a copy. Their printer wasn't working and start printing multiple pages. And then wouldn't print at all. It took 50 minutes for them to figure out how to print a page. Then they charged me for all the pages that were printed accidentally because of a printer issue. All throughout this were complaining about their day which was very unprofessional. You should never expect your customer to know how to do your job.

There is NO communication between customer service, broker & delivery personnels. Despite paying the COD charges online 72hrs ago, still received notice frm driver today that COD is due. Spoke to 3 customer service rep within past 3 days, all claimed to have updated the COD charges. I even pasted the email receipt of my COD charges payment on the front door - still, no delivery was made because drive still believes I have not paid and will attempt a final attempt next week. Very frustrating. For a big company, they should invest in some better way of communicating between everyone in their department. Otherwise this is simply idiotic.

Anytime ups receives my packages ....if it's on a Friday they say it's out on delivery this will make at least the the 8 th or 9th time never get it till the the next week following Monday ..why why why.i just don't get it that's why I don't use there service u can't go and pick it up ?why because they are closed on sat unlike the post office or fed ex....so so tired of this I need my parts it's only been a week or more only coming from n.c. I live in n.y...wtf.and it ain't the snow storm. Thanks for putting my job on hold over the weekend once again

this is the 3RD time I have not recieved my package in a timely manner. I even paid this time $8 for it to have a two hour window delivery time, guess what? it is now 2 hours PAST when it was suppose to arrive. Horrible mesquite UPS, always have problems with them, EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! so fed up. what is the use in asking for it to be delivered in the timeframe when they never do it? you can't tell me that 3 times in a row they are hours upon hours late, last time was suppose to come by 3:15 and came at 730pm!! yep! so done
