Ups is by far the worst postal sevice in america. They have screwed up every order i have sent through them the most recent one i was assured that a package would be delivered on a friday and that it was on the truck to be delivered, i then got a notification saying that it wouldnt be and would have to wait until the next buisiness day to get it i even offered to pick it up, and they said no 0% chance, horrible customer service and company. Dont make the mistake of using them for shipping.

So let's be clear about UPS. They will deliver when they want to and not a moment sooner. They will not refund expedited shipping charges under any circumstances nor will they admit that the delay is their fault. So I had a one of a kind part shipped 2nd day air. It would have been next day air but the next day was Thanksgiving and that would not have been realistic. However, it seems they give their drivers full discretion to decide what business they will or will not deliver to the day after a holiday. Why would I or anyone else order a package for 2nd day air, pay the additional charges and then not be there to receive it. The tracking number showed "the business is closed for the holiday". Well, we're not closed today because it's not a holiday and we're not Government employees! The customer service agent half way around the globe advised that the "driver noted the business closed". Well the driver is either a liar or he needs to work on his physic powers because we're here, waiting for the part, and he has not driven by the large front window at our office that faces the street. I cannot force all of my vendors to stop using UPS but it is a certainty, regardless of price, that we will not ship with UPS under any circumstances. Absolutely the worst concern for customer service of any major corporation I have EVER had to deal with. Period.

This makes no sense.

It appears this was done on Wed, since you make reference to next day being Thanksgiving.

So, 2nd day would be 2 business days, meaning it would be delivered Mon the 30th.

Next day would have been Friday delivery, since Thursday was a Holiday and not a business day.

Then you change your story to say it was sent on Tuesday, and Thanksgiving is NOT on Wednesday.

So, which story is correct?

The shipper in PA shipped late in the day on Tuesday so a next day air would have showed up Thursday. My "story" did not change but if you are happy with UPS, good for you.

As an update, the local UPS agent that answered the phone on Friday told me she could not deliver the box as the had no trucks because everyone was off work. I got home and a UPS truck was making a residential delivery right down the street. The UPS website showed the box was in town and had a delivery date of Friday! As we expected.

They simply decided not to deliver some of their business routes and then lied about it. Simple as that.

Ups Home Delivery Review from Honolulu, Hawaii
UPS left expensive package at the front door IN THE RAIN!! We were home all evening, with no notice it was sitting on the front porch for anyone to take in the rain. I tracked my package to find it was delivered, when I brought it in the house the box has disintegrated.

Pissed off from UPS delivery

UPS lost my sons passport and not promised 2 day shipping.When I called after 2 days they reported that passport was lost.They even don't care to inform customer that their package is lost .I did constant follow up to know the status.Called 5-6 time to get status. They sent passport to Nevada and later on they found it.So i expected delivery next day morning as they already late.But UPS do not care about customer .After calling so many times as well passport not delivered next day.What a shame.I will never go for UPS again.I am still waiting for passport after 7 days.Tired from doing follow up as well.

had a very important tim sensitive package shipped via UPS, not my choice, and it never arrived on time, it was left behind at their los angeles facility and on their tracking system online it said it would be delivered at least one business day later. my client left the hotel by the time the package arrived and subsequently I lost the client and the sale, $7000 worth of time, fabrics, labor to be messed up by an incompetent carrier that shouldn't be offering contractual options to deliver when they can't. the Ups lawyer will be coming to a small claim court on monday, I filed against them, will update after that.

Ups a Rip off company DONT waste your money buying insurance when you send a package through UPS because if your package is damaged they will Immediately claim not packaged properly. They tells me to send the package to be inspected. They practically crushed the new box and when they check the equipment inside the box they answer me back we really sorry but we can't replace or pay this damage because they said was incorrectly packaged or not properly packaged. There are numerous other posts about this. Wish I saw it before I shipped . WILL NEVER USE UPS again with these shady business practices. We need to BOYCOTT them or get everyone with tgis situation get together and suit this disgusting and thief company. I followed up, the package and the claim company tells that this package was paid to the ups store so who is laying. I contacted other party about this and they send me to a customer service that in the end clean their hands and refusing to pay for the damage their mishandling caused.

In our area of Montana UPS has an agreement with USPS to receive and deliver some packages for them, the problem is that while UPS will leave a package, the USPS won't and that means we can only get our packages on weekends. Very bad business practice. We'll start requesting FedEx.

When ordering my grandson's birth certificate from Vital Chek (that's another story) I was offered the option of expedited service via UPS next day air. I chose the option, the only one offered and paid $18.00 for the service, even though the distance between the vital records office that generated the certificate is a mere 11 miles from my home. After speaking with a lady at Vital Statistics she assured me she would do all in her power to get the certificate to me the next day, as I had an appointment at the Miami passport office to get a passport for my grandson on Monday. She emailed me at 1:25 pm, having generated the shipping label at that time, and provided me with the tracking number. I later checked and found out it was at the UPD hub at 8:05, and sorted for delivery on Monday at 8:19. I contacted UPD live chat (Billy L) and was given the story that next day meant next business day, but after 45 minutes of interaction, was told I could pick up the certificate Sat between 10 am and 1pm at the hub, but I needed to call at 10 am. I canceled my $1200.00 charter so I would be able to call and pick it up. When I called at 10, I spent 15 minutes with Cheryl on the phone, asking for someone with the authority to solve my issue, to no avail, and she hung up on me. I called back, and spoke with Erica in VA, who placed me on hold for 20 minutes while trying to locate her boss (at least she checked back twice to make sure I hadn't hung up). Her boss then put me on hold allegedly to call the hub, and returned saying there was nothing she could do and have a nice day. I will never use UPS for anything again and encourage everyone to use fed-ex instead.
