UPS in Pelham, Alabama - Falsified tracking status

Without a doubt, the worst shipping experience of my 42-year-old life. Amazon shipping is to be praised. UPS corporate is to be heralded. Songs of exultation shall be called for the delivery personnel. Homewood management, though...Homewood management...words fail me in attempting to describe the inanity that pervades whatever "system" is in place at the Homewood facility. My packages were on schedule to be delivered on 12/24 at my office. Imagine my surprise, when upon waking on Christmas Eve, I was greeted to an e-mail saying that the first package had attempted delivery at 4:39AM (an odd time of the day to attempt a delivery, to be sure) ...exactly one minute after being loaded on the truck. I know UPS is fast, but to cover 30 miles in one minute, would require UPS to have purchased the leftover fleet of SR-71 Blackbird aircraft. Hurriedly showering and driving to the office, I engaged in a help chat session, in an attempt to discover what the issue might have been. I was again, shocked, when the next shipment reported that delivery had been attempted at 7:56AM...one minute after being loaded on the truck. Those pesky supersonic delivery vehicles! After 2 more chat sessions, and a call to the Homewood branch, I was told that they were still there, and I could come by and pick them up. Scratching my head as to how they could still be at Homewood, but excited by the fact that I was finally going to get my packages, I quickly hopped in my sub-sonic vehicle and drove the 30 minutes (not one) to Homewood. Upon arrival, I was greeted by blank stares when I presented the 2 tracking numbers. The final consensus was that "They're locked in the trailer, and we don't have anyone here to take care of that". "It's going to go out for delivery on Monday the 28th". Interesting. As I was hanging my head to go back out to the parking lot and attempt another call to the help desk, a grizzled conveyor line worker, having overheard my exchange, asked, "Was it a business address?" Stunned that someone was attempting to actually help me, I stammered back "Y-yes?!" "Was it a suite number?" "Well, that's the problem now, isn't it?" "...How so?" "Well, they do an informal check on places that have suites, boxes, etc, and if more than 50% of them are going to be closed, they just don't deliver to the whole address at all." Slack jawed, I retreated to the parking lot and called customer service. The helpful gentlemen listened to my rambling diatribe, and after a few seconds of silence, responded, "Fifth one of those I've heard today". While he apologized profusely, he stated that once it was in Homewood's hands, they really no longer had any control of the situation. This was strictly an internal situation at Homewood. My wife is much more understanding than I, and told me that there was no problem with not having her Christmas presents on Christmas Day, since she'd get them Monday. I responded that I just wish they would have told the truth and said they were going to be late, and not attempt to cover it up by saying they had attempted a delivery, when they obviously had not. Fast forward to this morning, when I arrived at the office, excited to check on the status of the 2 packages for the Mrs. My brain did not have the ability to process the information that was displayed. Both packages were being held at Homewood, and would not be delivered until tomorrow. This is contrary to what I was told by both the personnel at Homewood and via the help desk. After a terse chat session, and a final phone call with a manager in Atlanta, I was basically told that everything was in Homewood's hands, and that they have said it would be there Tuesday the 29th. Game. Set. Match. One would think that the story ended there, as it is now 5PM CST on the 28th. You would be wrong. Out of shear boredom (insanity?), I decided to check the status of both packages one last time. What's this? A change in status? Scheduled delivery updated to 12/28? I hurriedly got on another chat session in an attempt to get a confirmation on this new turn of events. However, as "Beverly" soon informed me, the packages would actually be delivered tomorrow. When queried about why the packages would be delivered tomorrow, when the status was showing them to be delivered today, her verbatim response was, "This is because, as the local UPS facility provided you, they have pulled the shipment from pick up and are now preparing it to be delivered tomorrow". So... preparing actually now means delivering? I can overlook tardiness. Even in a logistics business, things happen. I get that. I can forgive that. What I cannot get, and cannot forgive, is a lack of honesty. To have 2 packages with forged delivery attempts, and incorrect internal tracking is not an accident. It is dishonesty. Clear. Systematic. Dishonesty. That, I cannot forgive. If I were UPS corporate, I would be concerned. Not for the sake of customer service, but for another point. If your employees are willing to lie about things like this (that can be so easily proven false), what else are they lying about? UPS, you have lost a customer for life. I will no longer use your services. Not for my personal use, nor for my business matters. I will also go out of my way to let all my friends and business contacts know what has happened here. I will also go out of my way to share this story on as many social media outlets as I can. I do not expect a response, nor do I want one. There is nothing you can do to fix this. I would highly recommend that you investigate the Homewood branch, though. You did not ruin Christmas, UPS. You merely ruined what trust I had in you.

UPS is incompetent

Details
UPS is incompetent and doesn't deliver as promised. They had a package floating around trucks and/or there facility for 3 days. They claimed they delivered it and there was no package. After calling them and being on hold for over 30 minutes to talk to someone they insist the package was delivered, then talked to a supervisor and they said they would check with the driver. Well the driver didn't deliver the package, only left the card and UPS finally found the package after 2 days of calling them and guaranteed they would deliver the next day. They failed to arrive at the home that day and tried to claim the package was once again delivered. They don't bring things to the house in some areas, they think it is perfectly fine to leave it 1 mile from the house along side of the road where anyone can see it. They promise a call back that day and finally call back 5 days later to say the package was delivered. They are full of bull!!!!! Don't waste your money paying for UPS delivery, they don't deliver to the door and don't know up from down. Ship FedEx they deliver to the door!!!!!!!!

UPS in New York - They are the WORST

I had ordered a package for a Christmas gift and it was guaranteed for delivery 3 days before Christmas. UPS missorted the package on the day that it was supposed to arrive and when I realized, I called and they said the gift would get it to me by COB on XMAS Eve. The package never arrived and I did't get it until a week later. Every representative I spoke to was useless and all of the information they gave me was inaccurate. I am not one to write complaints, but I have never experienced such poor customer service and incompetence.

So I ordered something to be delivered through this company to be arriving the 23rd of December. I expect maybe a day behind so when I call today on the 24th they tell me it will be the 28th. No explanation why my order comes almost a week late and a very weak apology. They rally just don't care about my order and it showed in their representative that answered the phone. I hope this company hours out of business if this is how they act. Maybe next year they should hire enough people to keep their promises of delivery times, or just don't make those promises.

UPS in Fruita, Colorado - HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and UNPROFESSIONAL

2.5
Details
I had a package that I paid for 2 day shipping due to arrive. I came home early that day and I received a notification at 4:52 that there was attempt to deliver and nobody home. When I called UPS to find out what happen, I was told that the driver delivered to the wrong apartment number, 2066. If he went to the wrong apartment, then why didn't he deliver to the front office? The next day when my package was delivered, to the office, I saw that apartment # 2066 was also there and the office staff told me the UPS driver told them he did not attempt to knock on our doors, so apparently there are lazy UPS drivers not willing to search for apartment numbers. I have a package due to be delivered today, my apartment office closed early today so I called UPS to speak with management to explain what happen and how can I be assured my package is going to be delivered TODAY. The lady, who is to be "management" mumbled her name, did not state her position nor have any feelings towards my concerns. She put me on mute and assumed what I was trying to ask for. She was absolutely no help, very rude and probably not management. I called back to speak with someone else in hoping for a better outcome and spoke with Philip, who I don't really feel was phone friendly, he interrupted me when I was trying to explain the nature of my call. I did thank him for at least being kind, but it is not how I felt. I spoke with other residence who claim to have issues with UPS, some our stay at home mothers and they say that UPS never knocks on the door. They have dishonest workers, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service and over all just RUDE. This is very unprofessional. We pay to have our packages delivered by a specific date, but have to count on UPS employees to do their job. The lady I spoke to, put me on mute several times, didn't respond when I asked if she was still there. I never have these issues with FEDEX and if I ever have a choice a shipper, I am not choosing UPS. I will be sure that this goes public, they don't allow you to speak with anyone higher than them and it is not fair that we pay for this service and aren't treated right.

I paid $105.61 to guarantee a 3 day delivery to Florida. I dropped off the package on 12/19/15. The assistant manager told me if it was not delivered to the Florida location by 12/22 I would get a full refund. Today is 12/24 and it has not arrived. I called UPS to...

UPS Stores are independent from UPS. Also, it sounds like they sent your package via UPS Ground, not 3 Day Select, because the express services remained guaranteed through the holiday, while UPS Ground lost its guarantee starting on the 11th.

after spending days with target trying to get my wife a camera for christmas they sent it through ups. (supposed to be the fastest option) biggest waste of time ever. i was supposed to receive her gift by the 23rd of december low and behold ups takes 2 days to get it out of their first facility and it finally arrived in my home towns facility today december 24th. i called the ups to schedule a pick up as the website says i can do so...... wrong there are very few circumstances in which you are allowed to pick up a package due to (delivery contracts) i was told i would not be allowed to pick my package up and would have to wait for them to deliver it to me which wouldn't be until december 26th...... wtf! the person who paid for the package and for it to be shipped is not allowed to pick it up. the person who is the sole *** reason you have a package to deliver. seems retarded oh well live and learn i guess. i will never use ups again i would rather wait for the *** at the usps to pull through. i can't wait for this company to crash and burn.
